Wow, the Fanboyism & Entitlement in this topic is disgusting...

Relax, you big babies... This bonus content will probably just be all the DLC Armor, Making of video, and DLC Side Missions.

Are you one of those "PS3 for teh rulz!!11!" people? Honestly.

We on the 360 and PC had to pay for the DLC armor and side missions. So excuse us for feeling annoyed when the PS3 owners get it for free.

No, but you're all over-reacting... PS3 isn't even getting the first game, yet all everyone here is doing is ****ing about how Bioware betrayed you. Get over it, it's a business, and Bioware is trying to get as many sales out of the game as possible. The 360/PC got to have ME2 as an exclusive for almost a whole year, so the PS3 crowd is entitled to some freebies.

I already own the game for both Xbox 360 & PC, and I've purchased all the DLC, yet I couldn't be more pleased with this announcement. Now when I buy the PS3 Version, I don't have to pay for everything a 2nd time, and PS3 Exclusive Owners get to experience an excellent game.

Seriously, Console Fanboyism is so 90's... Hasn't anyone aged beyond 8 here?
"Genesis >>> SNES!11"

Seriously, you're all acting like a bunch of spoiled children and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

PS3 crowd aren't entitled to jack.  It's the 360 that made ME2 possible.  Had Mass Effect flopped on 360 do you think there would even be a ME2?  Hell no, it would have gone the way of Too Human

Loyalty ain't what it was anymore.

Simply because it was succesful on the 360 means it's a logical decision to release the franchise (minus 1) on the PS3. EA is a company, they're doing to most logical thing. Just consider the 360 version as a first step to making a big franchise and the PS3 release a next big step in expanding it. What's this nonsense about loyalty? We're talking about something as trivial as a video game console. You're way too irrational about this.

It like getting one group of builders to build your house than slapping them in the face and giving the plans to another group with free materials.

Or something.

Microsoft and 360 owners made the ME franchise successful.  Never forget.  BioWare seems to have.

You fail to give me a reason why Mass Effect's success on the Xbox 360 should mean that a PS3 version should not be made. Then you say Bioware has forgotten the Xbox 360 made Mass Effect big. Of course they haven't forgotten. That's exactly the reason why they're releasing it on the PS3, to expand on that success. It makes perfect sense and it's beneficial for both the company and the fans. Those who don't have a PS3 and prefer an Xbox 360 or a PC lose nothing. It seems like you are upset because others can enjoy a game on their console of choice and that's extremely irrational and selfish.

Dude some folks are just plain irrational, Sony deserves a lot of credit for the success of Medal of Honor games and that franchise but I dont see the new MOH being exclusive to Sony's platform, if it was people would still get bent about it though. I see it like this as gamers we play games right? We enjoy playing games right? So enjoy the games and be happy for those getting a chance to play it.

Microsoft need to stop being jerks, ME2 is coming to Sony, ME1 sold LESS, and wasn't nearly as epic as ME2, and they are still gonna hold onto it, the fact Sony owners basically get what is the"The Empire Strikes Back" of Mass Effect and not "A New Hope" is dumb, please Bioware, wrangle in ME1 for the Sony crowd as well.

People keep saying this, but why should Microsoft "stop being jerks"? I didn't see Sony in a hurry to give up Final Fantasy, or Grand Theft Auto, and I haven't seen an announcement for Uncharted coming to 360.  Microsoft had to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to secure those names (FF and GTA) and Sony will have to do the same. Not to mention, the Empire Strikes Back-A New Hope isn't really a good analogy. Empire Strikes Back is widely considered the best Star Wars movie, whereas it seems people enjoyed Mass Effect 1 way more than 2.

Good counter,it is business I suppose, though having Mass 2 without 1 still feels a bit odd. Plus I did prefer ME2 to ME1.

My worst fears as well.

I wouldn't worry about the PS3 edition having DLC content that is not available on the 360 version.

Arkham Asylum was a one off. Microsoft seem to put up the money for (limited time) exclusivity rights when it comes to top titles, like Call of Duty.

My only concern is that the "hours of bonus content" will include something not available on the 360. Depending on how substantial that is, i will be annoyed. Though they can have all the DLC for free as far as i'm concerned.

Its not that unusual - the soon to be released Mafia II has some PS3 exclusive missions.
(oddly enough the official screens from those PS3 exclusive missions were created in the PC version of the game, but I guess there is no way said missions were simply cut from the other version, right?)

No, they will still buy it without the additional content. If they had the means to buy it on the 360 or PC, they would already have done so, not wait until the PS3 version is announced to take an interest in purchasing it.

Let's look at these:
"Why should I pay full price for this PS3 game  when the same game is on Xbox for only $25"

Well, because, A: it is technically a new release. B: (See above.)

"What is this?.. it includes hours of bonus content?.. I guess that's why I shall make the purchase on PS3"

Oh yes, the hours of bonus content that will inevitably only recieve 2 lines of text on the back of the box. That's a real game changer.

For all we know, it could be a mother buying it for their son... a casual gamer (who make up the majority of the markert) stumbling in to a game store to buy a new game. There's so many variables to take into account.

Consider it as EA saying "We are sorry you have to wait so long and then pay full price.. but here, you can have this stuff for free".

Technically a new release a year late.
"How come it's only $25 for Xbox but so expensive on my PS3"

2 lines of text that still say "hours of bonus content".

Also, in terms of not having ME1... it won't matter.

PS3 owners will get the OPTION of choosing what outcome they had wanted from ME1. They'll be able to choose if either Kaiden/Ashley lives or dies, who they had a romance with, and whether Wrex and the Council lived or died.... GUARANTEED this will happen.

Oh yeah? Well..... I guarantee that WON'T happen.

wait...wait...wait....PS3 & 360 games cost the same amount and pc is $10 less (less you're just purate'n them) so point was what again?

Point is that people who are totally new to mass effect and own a ps3 won't buy the game because it's missing the first part.

People who played mass effect 1 on xbox or pc and own mass effect 2 for pc or xbox won't buy the game because finding someone who OWNS all 2 consoles and a PC is hard to find and because they already have the xbox version and the pc version of mass effect so unless they are super rich or very bored i doubt they will buy it.

reasoning behind one of these persons: "oh yes, mass effect 2 for the ps3. I'm going to buy it just so I can experience the touch of the ps3 controlers while i play mass effect despite the fact that i already own both games for xbox and pc."

Perhaps I'm just crazy and what i see as totally normal/common sense is just a delusion.

im not super rich and i own Dragon age origins for 360, ps3, PC also awakening and not only that but the DLC for each system and i just got my self DAO for mac and the DLC that came out

i also own ME 1 and 2 for 360 and PC whit all the DLC and def getting it for ps3

why you may ask yourself because i like the games and i want to experience the different thing each system gives me

Exactly. It's like the PS3 owners whining about how Final Fantasy XIII camt to the Xbox 360. They hated that idea because "Final Fantasy belongs on a Sony console" even though the first six games were on Nintendo consoles. They switched to the Playstation instead of sticking with the N64 because they needed CDs for their cutscenes. It was the most logical decision. Now we're in a generation where two of the main three consoles are almost exactly the same and it would make no sense if game dveelopers wouldn't consider releasing their games on both consoles because gameplay and graphics are very much alike.

I actually wouldn't mind the PS3 version getting exclusive content, it would make up for them not getting ME1.

My real worry is what some others have already stated, about the role of ME1 choices in ME3 being downplayed because they don't want different platforms' players being "discriminated" against.

mass effect 1 was indeed published by microsoft ...for the 360, for the pc version however, the publisher i believe was EA so it's highly possible to see ME1 on ps3 as well

Its virtually guarenteed.   For example; The Rachni Queen at the time was such a massive decision which would play on the future games.  Even during ME2 with the talk  (or no talk) with the Asari made me think something big would happen.  Now tens of thousands of players wont have made a decision about it or even care because they havent been in that situation.  What was once a major plot device will now be brushed aside.

Yea, I never really thought about this, but this is a good point... UNLESS they make decisions an OPTION at the beginning of the game, sort of how they did with us on whether or not we chose UDINA or Anderson as council member at the beginning of ME2

No, PS3 owners will still buy the game without the first part. Almost anyone interested in this game as an arching storyline would have purchased it for the PC or 360. The whole "Import your character" feature is not one PS3-exclusive users are used to. They will buy the game thinking it's stand alone, no matter what.

But we all know is not stand alone. You are missing out a lot of the story and epic moments if you don't play mass effect 1.

This is a big **** you for 360 and PC owners for tons of reasons.

First: Mass effect 1 never existed, does anyone think they will port ME 1 to the PS3? NO. Does anyone think they will risk the PS3 userbase delivering an incomplete experience to them? NO, Bioware will make THE SAME game for the 3 platforms, a game where all the choices made in ME 1 mean absolutely nothing.

But that's not the worst part, the worst par its: "The PS3 edition will include the full Mass Effect 2 game and hours of bonus content" wha the **** is this Bioware?

You first release an incomplete version of a game for PC and make us pay full price for it, then make us pay EXTRA money for that overlord and Kasumi crap (things that should have been in the game to begin with), and then they release a complete/superior version, with all the DLC, with extra content.

As a person that bought the PC version and all the DLC of this game, and as a PS3 owner i feel defrauded, they basically stole my money with all that DLC knowing there would be a version for the PS3.

If they had announced this complete version of the game, to BEGIN WITH, do you think i would have wasted my money with incomplete versions? NO i would have waited for the PS3 release (ME 1 doesn't exist anymore anyway) and get the full version for LESS MONEY.

You know what i'm going to do? I'm selling my copies of ME 1 and ME 2, to recover some of the money you ****s STOLE from me with DLC's and incomplete games, and with that money i will buy the superior PS3 version when i find it cheaply used.

Congrats bioware, you just tricked me but that won't happen again, i swear to god.
