Holy... Does this mean the Necron Codex is coming too?!

Na, I had said that sarcastically... Or maybe it's fate...

Wait for it apparently and take this with a pinch of salt the Next codex will either be Dark Eldar or Necron depending on what is finished first and which will sell the most over christmas and as Necron players tend to outnumber Dark Eldar players 10-1 you do the math.

By that much? Wow, thats alot more than I thought... But if GW wanted to sell more of their products they wouldn't update N or DE, they would go with CSM or the supposed 'Inquision Codex'. But both those armies need a good update, seeing as it's been what, 10 years?

On topic: Regardless of if the PS3 gets extra content or not, they can't import characters so... ya...

Some of us (like myself) don't really care that the PS3 version is essentially the GOTY edition of ME2. Whats alarming many of us is the fact that Bioware may attempt to ensure that PC, Xbox, and PS3 users will experience ME3 in the exact same way - basically, the decisions of ME1 will be severely downplayed.

And that's reasonable. I'd be very surprised, though, if Bioware doesn't address it in some way that doesn't make the ME1 happenings irrelevant. Of course, if they don't, then it wouldn't have been due to the PS3 port, but due to the default picks already made for new ME2 characters...

PLEASE tell me this is not the "huge announcement" they said they were planning for the beginning of next year for mass fans. News flash. 99% of mass effect fans already own the game.

if this is that same announcement, im gunna be pissed...

This is probably it. EA said something far reaching from mass effect early 2011. This is early 2011, January to be exact. Oh well. Too bad the first game isn't coming over, I would have moved to the PS3. They shouldn't do it since the first one can't be ported.

I don't mind ME2 going multi-platform but putting hours of bonus content on the PS3 version is a bit of a kick in the nuts to those of us who solely bought an Xbox 360 just to play this game.

You're just forcing people to double-dip on this game Bioware. Not on.

I'm not wasting money on this garbage. It should've been Mass Effect 1 & 2 or at least Mass Effect 1 first. I'm not jumping into the middle of a ****ing trilogy.

Did people flip out like this when Bethesda put Fallout 3 out with all the DLC on disc a few months after the fact? This is no different.

This is good for people like me who can't afford to upgrade to a newer PC and have had SIX 360s Red Ring on them so wouldn't touch another one with a 10 foot pole.

This is Bioware. They're not screwing anyone over and Mass Effect 3 will still be epic.

Look at their track record: Jade Empire, Kotor, NWN, Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 1. If Mass Effect 3 sucks I'll poop my pants.

OFf-topic, but: SIX!?!?! Holy Crap!

I had 2 RROD, but I've had around 7 or so 360s since launch the others were hardware failures, overheating etc, whats funny is some dude wrote a book about his 360 experience, I think he had like 9 or 10 since launch that screwed up.

I've had mine for about 3 years now. I've never had an issue, guess I'm lucky.

Hypothesis: I buy a pair of Levi jeans for $30. Then I spend $15 on a nice belt. A few months later I see the jeans and belt for sale as a bundle for $30. Do I freak out and write a nasty letter to Levi saying that if they intended to bundle the jeans and the belt at a later date the belt should have been free the whole time?

No. It's capitalism. Stop whining you big babies.

Oh yes, what a great analogy. But does Levi have a massive fanbase of hardcore fans who go out and buy the latest fashion? Uh no. No the better ananlogy would be:

I go out and buy a pair of Levi's jeans and an extra couple of buttons that cost the same amount as the actual jeans in case I lose mine. Then, a few months later, I learn that the jeans and the buttons are bundled and I realized I had just spent $30 dollars extra on a set of "exclusive" buttons.

Obviously, I am pissed off.

The fair thing to do here, is RETURN all the bioware/microsoft points spend on the DLC to the ones who bought it, and give all the DLC for free from now on.

Buying Liara DLC? Ja! I don't think so, cheaply used PS3 version here i go.

In the meatime does anyone want to buy one used copy of Mass effect 1 and 2 for the PC, i have to recover some of the money this idiots stole from me.

This is by far the best idea I've hear so far. Thank you.

Oh yeah i forgot to add, when the PS3 version is released i want those "hours of extra content" on the 360 and PC too.

For free.

LOL wow yes you are very lucky, my cousins has only had 2 but he waited a year after launch to get one. Some people have had it bad, I just got tired of dumping money into xbox products in general, after I sold my xbox stuff, which I had a ton of I put a decent amount of money into my PC and got a PS3 this past July, havent had any probs, love the free online play as opposed to XBL as well. But yeah I'll keep my fingers crossed for your 360 man.

You know what is the down side? It is that all the PC DLCs do not carry to Xbox or PS3! That's right! All the BioWare DLCs (both Dragon Age & Mass Effect) such as "Firewalker Pack" and "Kasumi - Stolen Memory" can't be play in either Xbox or PS3. It's okay for PC version I guess (because I am). But for the Xbox and future PS3 user. IT IS REALLY SUCKS FOR THEM!!! I mean if you started out have PC version and have few extra DLCs. And about half of the time since the release, more new DLCs. You are asking yourself, "Um, for someone who has both version of the game in PC and Xbox, I guess it is a shame that they have to purchase the same DLC twice for a complete game play through. Suck to be them!" Now half way through the year, BioWare announces that Mass Effect 2 will be moving to PS3 also.

First off, I’m not saying that it is a bad idea or anything. I own both Xbox and PS3. More cross platform means from more money for BioWare and you can’t argue with that. But look at this, people who have BioWare account can’t even use their DLC across both PC and Xbox. They have to purchase all (most) DLCs separately. And now Mass Effect 2 is moving to PS3, does that means for a player who wants to fully experience the game play need to purchase all the previous DLC again only this time is in PSN not Xbox Live? It is obviously a rip-off to those who own the game in all three platforms. Come on BioWare what are you thinking? The Mass Effect is a great game. But over pricing the DLC across the platforms really tick some player out there.

I am just saying out loud here because I know there are people who own both PC and Xbox version out there is really ****** about this. So, please BioWare stop making more mistake!

They are attempting to sell their product to PS3 users, obviously to incourage people to buy it they need to reassure that (short version): we have you covered because you cant get ME1 on PS3, (long version): ME1 is important to ME2 and ME3, we will make sure you can enter the story with ME2/Genesis on PS3 because of the nature of the source content of the 360 and PC versions of ME1 which we are unable to port to PS3, however that is why the BONUS CONTENT will ON THE PS3 version will make ME2 for PS3 the perfect ENTRY point to the franchise.

I'm not trying to make myself miserable and angry. I'm reading what Bioware wrote.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but there is no long version. That's all your own creation.

Ridiculously lucky.  Or maybe I'm just unlucky.  That might be it.  My first 360 red-ringed on me within the first 12 hours so.....

I'm trying to understand the logic behind thinking the ME1 choices aren't going to matter because PS3 won't get ME1 (which remains to be seen, despite what they're saying right now.)

A simple addition of a "What happened in ME1 Shepard?" dialog sequence would solve this issue completely and it seems to me to be one of the easiest routes for Bioware to go.

And form what I've heard the DLC may cost even the free stuff the PC and 360 users got for free.

No, it's the principle of the situation that upsets people. I respect quality when it comes to a console. For me the quality of fun that the 360 provides for surpasses the PS3's. You shouldn't be surprised that so many people are upset about Mass Effect 2 bypassing to the PS3. The amount of excellent titles that the 360 has is part of it's appeal. Like someone had previously stated, it takes away from console sales and tends to make people who decide between 360 or PS3 feel betrayed. I for one feel extremely betrayed because we've already lost one of our greatest RPGs for the 360 "Elder Scrolls: Oblivion" as an exclusive and now Mass Effect 2? We're always giving PS3 one of our greatest titles for profit. It'd be like saling the rights to the American Eagle to Pakistan. It'd just a betrayal to every single 360 fan and a major slap in the face. Trust me, you're going to see many more negative responses in the coming months to the release of PS3's Mass Effect 2.

As far as the DLC goes. If it's exclusive for the PS3 that's something we'll have to deal with but I do not exactly see that happening. I believe they may either get the Cerberus Network completely free or various DLC that we had to pay for. I doubt it'd be anything exclusive. I'm a follower of the 360 only because I prefer it's benefits over the PS3's. I don't discriminate against consoles. I just believe in representing the best one of the generation. Truth be told, in my opinion that's the 360. We shouldn't be giving away major titles just because they're highly successful.

It's an opportunity for Bioware but at what cost? Slapping all of the loyal Mass Effect fans in the face whom are counting on it being one of the only guaranteed Xbox 360 exclusives? It just isn't worth it and I for one have lost respect for them.

They have to put something on PS3 to make it worth getting. Like PS3 exclusive 5 hour campaign or something like that. Or nobody will buy it, everybody will buy it on steam sale for PC.

Dream sequence/flashback. While he's on the table, add some scenes that cover the major choices from the first game.

This could also be patched to 360 and PC owners who don't have ME1, or who choose to make a new character.

You actually have no right whatsoever to feel betrayed. Bioware provided a game for $60. You bought that game. Played it.

You're owed nothing else. Nowhere did they ever say "360 and PC exclusive in perpetuity." You had your exclusivity (as I had mine) for a year.

Actually they did say it.

RPGFan: So, Mass Effect, originally on Xbox 360, ported to PC. With Dragon Age, you guys have gone fully multiplatform. Is there any plans to see Mass Effect on PS3?

CH: Mass Effect 2 is just on Xbox 360 and PC. People find that to be a surprising answer. We have exclusivity with Microsoft.

Not dwelling on the RROD to defend any "fanboyism"  When you have a product in a well ventilated location sitting on an oak desk for example and it breaks multiple times it is no longer something you're doing.  You're only "stupid" if you keep forking your money over for the thing that keeps breaking on you.

Just because we did get patch this time, dont expect something like this. If they really wanted to do it, it would be the released instead of the ME2 demo.
