This. I don't care about it going to the PS3, it's the ME and the romances carry over that scares me.This is why I don't like this, because PS3 will never get ME.

Reasonable? Lol Hardly, the gameplay will shift due to it being transferred over into another console. If you want to see a graphically enhanced version of ME2 then get it on the PS3. However, I doubt even if Bioware is making costly risky decisions that they'd just toss the 360 to the side. If anything, this could very well benefit us more than it harms us. If you want a consistantly fun playthrough then get it for the 360. I seriously doubt they're going to re-release Mass Effect on disk for the PS3. However, they might release it on the Playstation Network.

What do you expect them to say? You may get some corporate PR about commitment to the game and fans, but thats it.

I don't care that Mass Effect is getting some new players on the PS3 side of the game. I trust Bioware to make correct decisions in the future of the series, meaning Mass Effect 3 will be like what we want it to be like before we found this out. If they change the game enough, so that PS3 players can enter the series without needing to go to external sources to find what they are missing out on, but not enough so that it slights Bioware's current fanbase of 360 and PC owners. I'm not gonna support this decision, just because I hate Sony, but we need to trust Bioware enough to keep both sides happy, and maintain the staple of the series, how your choices can make an impact in ways you can't see yet.

Guys I have complete utter faith in Bioware. While Publishing issues may hamper the PS3's full experience don't doubt for a second Bioware won't find a way around that and use it as a chance to show off some of their genius. As of right now if they added in a little 5-6hr ME1 flashback story-bridging mode, I fully expect it to be 5-6hrs of extreme joy. And if it's ME1 revisited with ME2 mechanics, Im going to buy this 1st day CE just like I did with the original ME2...However, without a doubt I'll be picking up ME3 on my 360...I also hope certain options aren't forsaken because of this decision

They probably could release Mass Effect 1 for the PS3.  They'd just have to rename it.  If you look at it from a technical standpoint, the PS3 never got Ninja Gaiden II - it got Ninja Gaiden Sigma II.  The same could work here.  Maybe the PS3 will never get "Mass Effect."  But it could very well get "Mass Effect Genesis."

It's all about the money in the end. ME1 was new and creative, and had that "magic" too it that no other game had, and still doesn't. If I was a PS3 user and looked at ME2 with the thought of..ME1!. I would not buy it. Once again it's ****eir vs. ****ier. I remember back in the old forum website we argued about the new cover art, and it did take away some of the magic I was hoping for because it just keeps getting down graded from a certain point of view. More than half of the things that have been new or what not made ME2 more of a product and not an expirience.

I'm not downing on the PS3 users new delight from this news., I just can't help but look at the feeling this gives to certain people about ME3. (will ME3 make pancakes for us?) Call me crazy or call me whatever, it doesn't change the fact that ME is turning into something but just a badass game that touched me with the characters..missions..RPG no stupid shooter... and B.A.M.****g song at the end. I can't decribe it because there's always someone who disagrees. That's not bad but... I don't know. Who knows? Do you know?

ME2 to PS3 = I just don't care.

I guess I just expect a little something from them in regards to the fact that here is an issue with lots of questions, some of which are making some fans lose even more faith in them and really they could probably quiet this whole thread, the entirety of the issues and stop it from spiraling into geek apocalypse if they would just say SOMETHING to allay some fears.

But you're right.  I'm sure all we'll get is some evasive beat around the bush non-answer.

PS: The people who got over heated were awesome, they made for a great laugh. "I hate bioware screw this company and screw this game cause its on PS3 NOW!!!!!" who cares what its on, just be thankful its not going to the wii.lol

First, the Japanese won't buy this game because it's a shooter.  The first game was more of an RPG, but ME2 is a shooter with interactive cutscenes.  I'm not bashing it, I loved it.  But think what kinds of games sell in Japan.  It's not shooters or WRPGs.

I am completely for ME2 on the PS3.  Hope it sells well.  I hope I can share your optimism about it not dumbing down ME3.  However, I believed BW was going to dumb down choices made in ME3 anyway long before the PS3 announcement.  Here's why, any choices you made in ME1 had little actual impact on ME2.  Yeah, it was cool to see Wrex, but it didn't really mean much.  He was my favorite squadmate from ME1; so, that was cool.

ME3 will be a simple story without any major changes from choices in ME1 or 2, but that was going to happen BEFORE the PS3 announcement.  Maybe a couple of small side missions will be added like in ME2 with Conrad or Gianni Parsini.  IMHO, BW bit off more than they could chew with this "trilogy."

I think we can all agree that ME2 was severely affected by EA's acquisition of Bioware. And there's no doubt ME2 and ME3 will fit together far more than ME1 to ME2 did. Pathetic.
