Saying things like Bioware sold out or that PS3 users are morons is just plain childish. There will always be unsavory people no matter what system is played. I've been on all fronts, and it happens everywhere. Give someone a mic, a keyboard, and anonymity, and that person has the potential to ruin your day. Don't think for one second that just because ME has been isolated to the Xbox and PC that it was somehow immune.

Also, remember that gaming is a business. We get charged small amounts for DLC that is anywhere from 20MB to 1.5GB ranging in price from $2 to $15. Adding the ME series to PS3 is a good business move for both Bioware and EA, and means a larger budget for ME3 and future entries into the Mass Effect universe.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm a diehard PC gamer, occasional PS3 gamer, and a former Xbox gamer (5 failed systems tends to make someone slightly jaded). I'm just asking for people to calm down and think about what this means for the big picture, before making rash statements that makes everyone look bad.

answer this please what happened to ME1? the ps3 players deserve to play it i am only angry that they only said that me2 would be sold not me1:(

As long as the PS3 doesn't get exclusive content, that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 have the complete same content, I'm fine with the ME series branching out.

So really? Nothing to say about the obvious questions of carry over and import saves? Come on Bioware, you had to know this would be a question. Don't leave us hanging! Or should I just completely ignore the fact that I ever played ME1? Because if that's the case don't plan on me playing ME3.

ME2PC could have had open recruitment, but didn't.
And it's Epic who are jerks about UE3 modding.

Even if there is some exclusive content, who cares.  I'm a PC gamer who happens to have a PS3.  This generation there have been plenty of times where the consoles received DLC, free and paid, that never made it to a console.  I for one am happy that friends of mine who only have PS3's can play a game I have been a fan of since I saw the first trailer for it.

If so then PS3 users are going to miss out on some of the story unless they go watch walkthroughs on YouTube. I'm guessing Sony forked over some serious coin for Bioware to do this.

Depends on the contract with MS studios. Rights may have reverted to BW after sale.

The announcement was literally less than 20 minutes ago. We don't have any details on what the ME2 release for PS3 is going to include. For all we know, they might be including ME1 for free, since a Blu-Ray disc can hold about 50GB, and if I remember correctly, ME1 and ME2, collectively, only add up to about 25-30GB.

Even if it -is- the existing DLC, that's still really irritating. Especially after paying full price for the game and all of the DLC, somebody else may get it and for cheaper. After not supporting the first installment, or the first installment's DLC, etc.

Mass Effect 1 PC wasnt published by Microsoft, EA rather. So what makes them not port it over to PS3

EA had to get permission from Microsoft to publish ME1 PC.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say "hours of bonus content" will likely mean all the DLC package in. I have a feeling a "GOTY" edition for the 360 will come out around the same time.

This. No problem with PS3 getting the game, but I seriously hope they don't get any exclusive DLC. The exclusive pre-order bonuses and the Dr. Pepper promotion were bad enough, thank you.

I don't know if you noticed, but you got to play ME2 for an entire year before they did.

I'm hoping they bring ME1 to PS3 too as I hear those playing ME2 without playing ME1 have certain choices made for them, I have them both on 360 but getting them on PS3 means I can get the DLC.

That's exactly the point.  PS3 folks aren't getting the "series."  They're getting the cookie cutter default canon ME2 where nothing in ME1 matters.  Does not bode well for ME1 carryovers to ME3.  Unless the writers put in a sentence or two of exposition, which is seriously lame-o.
