Hmmm, this may be an interesting event. From looking at the box and looking around online it seems that Microsoft may not have any claims to ME 1 now that EA outright OWNS Bioware.



Where EA owns the developer it looks as if Bioware was simply distributed by the Microsoft Game Studio, where a Game like Fable or Halo is physically owned by Microsoft it looks to me that this is not.



If that is the case then perhaps they didn't make a big deal about it because it came out in 2007 but its a glimmer of hope LOL

Indeed,I admit I am happy that other people, in this case ps3 users,can enjoy the game,and even the exclusives don't matter to me,but it is true now that you say it that it backfires and ruins the franchise...I don't know how much pull does sony have,I hope bios pull is firmer than sony,sometimes 3rd parties mess the whole bunch

Here's a possible solution to the no Mass Effect 1 on PS3 thing. Have "The Story So Far" cutscene actually be an interactive one. Show Shepard standing over the Rachni Queen, then have the Dialogue wheel come up; kill her or let her go. Then show how that plays out. Same with Wrex, Ashley or Kaiden, even have the cutscene where both possible LI confront you, the council, etc.

Then, ME2 starts with those choices. Obviously, you can't do ALL the sidequest things like Helena or Conrad.

Just a thought. Kind of lame, but it could tailor the game for a previous Renegade/Paragon personality. It also doesn't force EVERY playthrough to talk to Wreav.

Why is this game coming out onto the PS3 so controversial? Everyone should be able to enjoy it, regardless of the platform they play on. 

Though... why aren't they porting over ME1 as well?

That could very well be... The whole reason they didn't add the LI from ME1 were because they could die and they didn't want that.. But, now that ME1 is irrelevant for the PS3, they could very well add Liara, Ashley and Kaiden as squad mates in the PS3 version. But if they do that, then the chances of the choices of ME1 being irrelevant in ME3 in the X360 and PC versions become greater..

im not a fanboy whatsoever but i like the fact that xbox and ps3 were competing with each other it gave them a reason to create outstanding games and the fact that xbox just lost another one of its nukes means that the ps3 is on top (they havent given us any of there exclusives and have been getting extra content this past year) and i fear that we might not have triple A titles because that motivation to be the best will now be gone

which means ME3 could suffer from it (i hope not but still just a little worried thats all)

What the hell?¿ Some of the best games ever have been in multiplatforms,in fact there have been amazing games when there were even no consoles around...

If a game  is bad or good it definetely not related to the platform, but to the makers of the game, killzone 2 was great but so was Modern Warfare 1 and it was multiplatform

I mean companies fighting over users and franchises is understandable but people fighting over which console should get which game...lamo!

and microsoft lost alot of excusivs to sony while sony has still have theres (the powerhouses atleast)

Metal Gear Solid rising is a Spin off thats multiplatform and will support move tell me which consle you would buy it for?

nintendo yah they dominated but between the "hardcore consles" ps3 won by a few hundred miles

What powerhouses do you mean then? It doesn't get much more powerhousey than Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid? The only other powerhouse they really have is God of War. Grand Theft Auto, last gen or not, was way bigger than anything that Microsoft has lost, including Mass Effect, and when Final Fantasy officially became multiplatform, it was also far bigger than this. And Tekken wasn't as big, but it was one of the biggest exclusives Sony had. Uncharted isn't really a powerhouse, nor is Infamous. Neither of those are household names among people with the other consoles, and having both, I realize that this is a shame. But Sony doesn't have as many powerhouses as you seem to think, other than God of War.

grand theft auto was multiplatform since the 1st one dude. final fantasy i understand that one was pretty big for sony but 13 was better played on the ps3 than the 360. and sony still has uncharted, god of war, resistance(3 was confirmed today by the way),killzone, ratchet and clank and many others..
what does xbox have left going for it? halo reach and gears 3? thats it when those games are out the devs are moving on to multiplatform games xbox loses all its exclusives sony keeps theirs and will still get multiplatform games not to mention the extra content ps3 has been getting lately

hey,my brain works most the times hahaha,I wish it wasn't about the money and that we could have companies loyal to their customers, but look at what has happened...Now it's all exclusive this,DLC that,MapPack this and Alternate Appereance that...We're the cows...They are the Dairy Farm...here to milk us dry.

Except in this case we should have the capability of thinking,something cows don't have,to say hey they're ripping me off!I'm not buying this!...Nope we go and we buy the same game just because it has some little extra stuff...or real important stuff...

we have been brainwashed to truly feel that we MUST have everything of everything of everything...so as long as we buy,they sell.If we buy crap they'll sell us just that.

I won't be buying their games and if others (who say they won't buy EA/BW games any more) feel the need to, then buy them pre-owned or rent them.
