You all sound awfully fanboyish and in a way, selfish! so what? i've been waiting for mass effect series to come to the ps3 since 2007! All it does is make the community bigger .. and yeah, it gets them more cash, but I don't think they are being greedy with this. i like the move.

I think he means buying used/renting doesn't profit Bioware.
the only way I could be angry about this is if they miraculously got ME1 too, and BW restored the Femshep/Ash romance option.

It's also worth mentioning that M$ put unreasonable demands on BioWare for ME1 (all content on one disc, for example) which hurt the potential of the initial game. I think BioWare will do well now that they don't have to answer to M$. I'm glad Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PS3, though it should be bundled with ME1. I'd gladly buy it for the PS3 if I didn't already have it all for the Xbox 360. Kinda too little too late, but hey M$ paid to have it exclusive for a time.

Hey. Those of us that played the first game have an attachment to the characters (and dare I say unhealthy attachment in some cases - I'm looking at you Tali fans).
However, if you get a video recap of all the story's main points; do you actually miss what you don't know about?
I enjoyed the personlaization of the IMHO minor changes to the ME2 story when importing, but the ending of ME2 was the same either way. I just feel sorry for PS3 users not getting the "import" bonus for an Insanity run (but, then again, they probably get the Firepower Pack for free).

Does "hours of bonus content" mean PC and Xbox users will somehow just have to cope with the fact their games become incomplete or will it be released as DLC later? I'm a faithful DLC buyer and I'd rage if they added "hours" of gameplay I can't enjoy without suffering a console...

If BioWare didn't make money and wasn't as successful as it is, then the company wouldn't have created any great games past Baldur's Gate and KOTOR.
BW needs to accommodate ME2 to a new game engine, and put out the discs, and sell those units. That takes time and money! If few PS3 fan buys the game, it's a loss for BioWare. They're taking a gamble here. And BW doesn't necessarily "owe" loyalty to people who own PCs and Xboxes, because not everybody who owns those consoles owns ME1 or ME2.
From my own experience, it REALLY SUCKS when there's a game that EVERYBODY raves about and that I can't even try out and decide for myself if it's good or not. I've always wanted to try the Final Fantasy series, but I didn't have a Playstation. I can't play the original Half-Life because I don't have a PC. I can't play BW's Baldur's Gate (my boyfriend raves about it though...lucky guy).
As a person who's owned a Nintendo console for many years (got the Xbox a few years ago for Xmas), being left out of the loop sucks, although I could play all the Legend of Zelda I wanted. Granted, there are worse things in life than not being able to play a game, but companies would've gotten more of my money.
In short: exclusivity hinders both companies and the gamers.

It's the obvious move financially I guess, but I still feel kinda betrayed. Like if Bungie brought Reach out onto the PS3. I'll still buy the Liara DLC and I'll still buy Mass Effect 2 and any other games Bioware ever brings out on the 360 probably, but I don't know. I guess it's just the rivalry between the two consoles getting to me - I'd like for the xbox to be the better console and Bioware's not helping, but this is the sensible move for the company. I understand.
