So....thats means you might buy them?

There's no "might" about it, I'm just plain not buying EA/BW games again.

Because ME 2 is being released on the PS3.

Microsoft should spend money to keep their exclusives, see what happened Microsoft!!! SEE WHAT HAPPENED!? Microsoft Vs. SONY. Idk who's winning but Mass Effect is surely not in the picture since it's not exclusive anymore. :(

The first liable argument I have heard

Like I said only complaint is ME1 not ported as well, hopefully PS3 users are able to port something into the game (like the save editor for the PC I guess)

Whatever they do to make the ME2 story work on PS3, they better not screw up the continuation of ME1, ME2, and ME3 for ALL of us Xbox360 and PC gamers!

Does "hours of bonus content" mean PC and Xbox users will somehow just have to cope with the fact their games become incomplete or will it be released as DLC later? I'm a faithful DLC buyer and I'd rage if they added "hours" of gameplay I can't enjoy without suffering a console...

We will find out in three to four weeks.  After this thread is closed for reaching 300+ pages and going off topic.
Actually, this is my only concern with this game coming to the PS3.  If it includes the previously released DLC on the bluray, so be it.  Several games are rereleased as Platinum/Greates Hits or GOTY Editions.  It will probably retail for $60, too.  I'm fine with that.
I just hope it's not PS3-Exclusive Content.

Stew over paying however many dollars its been now. :P ... :crying:

I think now it is only $22 (assuming you have Cerberus Network)
Probably is just Cerberus stiff on-disc and maybe Kasumi

I couldn't care less that it's coming to the PS3, but it pisses me off that when ever the PS3 gets games later they always seem to get either all the DLC with it or get new stuff the other versions never got for the same price it was for the other consoles. Examples of this is Bioshock, Overlord, and now Mass Effect 2. So if EA/Bioware do it that way I'll be pissed.

If it's ps3 exclusive content, I'll probably be pissed off for a few days, and then get over it.

Yeah, it's not that bad, besides, it was worth getting to play it since it came out, instead of waiting for a price drop.

I'm just gonna throw this out there... We really don't know what these "hours of bonus content" are yet.

It seems most likely that it's just all the DLC Missions bundled together, but if Bioware did that then what would they have on the Cerberus Network as an insentive to buy the game new?

It is a possibility, (albeit unlikely) that they are including some altered form of ME1 to the game. It may be a shortened version, or a revised version featuring elements of ME2 such as Thermal Clips, but for the time being we don't know.

Hopefully, Bioware will make announcements regarding this soon, rather than keeping us waiting for 26 days with no news.

Personally, I'd rather get ME1 & ME2 on one disc rather than ME2 + afew litlle DLC Missions that really weren't all that great to begin with.

Which is why I really don't understand all the butthurt over the possibility of ME2 PS3 getting all the DLC for free. Besides Kasumi's Stolen Memory, the DLC wasn't all that spectacular to begin with, and it really wouldn't be fair of Bioware to charge PS3 Owners $59.99 for a game that now costs $39.99 with no additional content.

You answered your own question. This is controversial because of ME1 possibly not being ported.

why doesn't hideo kojima port mgs 4 to 360? why doesn't sony allow infamous to come out for the 360? Why doesn't sony allow heavy rain to come out for the 360?

Heavy Rain relies "heavily" on motion controls, sure it could be simplified and made to work with just button mashing but to tell you the honest truth I've never been more tensed up playing a game in a long time as I was when I played Heavy Rain with the motion control stuff, it's part of what makes it special I guess. I dont know about Kinect working too well with it but like I said I'm sure it could be done with just button mash sequences and joystick patterns. I see not one damn reason why infamous isnt multiplatform though.

The more i think about it, if mass effect 2 comes out for ps3, it'll bring in more cash, which will help bring in more money for mass effect 3, so it really isn't that bad.

Because ME 2 is being released on the PS3.

Partially, but it's more to do with the realization that ME2 was tailor made with PS3 owners in mind. Robbing the fans of ME1 of what it should truly have of been.

On top of that, there will no doubt be exclusive content that will never be available to PC/360 fans.

One thing that I would love is for all games to be multiplatform, other than a few games, because if there aren't a few exclusive games than you wouldn't be able to recognize each console as its own.

sheesh, i've just gone through 48 pages of rubbish, i thank few of you who actually made objective points.

First off im mainly a PC gamer, so if you Xbox and PS3 kids think you have a right to complain about "platform this; free that" you can run to the cupboard under the stairs right now because we're the ones who usually get the bad end of the stick. Fable 3 but not 1 or 2? thats just one of MANY examples; the constant delays? im surprised and thankful that ME2 was released at the same time as the 360 version. Theres a stereotype that ALL PC gamers are pirates, though im not convinced thats the sole reason we get cut out so much (aside from having to develop for millions of hardware configurations) because everyone knows that console games get pirated loads too. Now with that out of the way i want to share my opinions on this matter:

1 - congrats to the PS3 owners, you have yourself a great game.. though im not sure how Bioware will handle the whole Mass effect 1 part for you.

2 - im a huge fan of Bioware games, infact im pursuing a career in becoming a games designer with one of my long term goals being to get a job at Bioware :D so i am very protective of my beloved Mass Effect, so i share your concerns about ME3's integrity being compromised but honestly the way you people have been going on is like they've canceled the game! stop making presumptions and wait for an official response, who knows maybe, just maybe if your polite enough you might get one.

3) as a PC gamer naturally im into modding and editing etc, and would like to know, due to the extra space on blu-ray disk, if the PS3 version will get enhanced textures? I ask as i've extensively been tweaking away on both games since ME1 on PC trying to alleviate some of the texture issues.

I've noticed another stereotype is that you need to spend Thousands on an "Uber" computer to run games these days.. i build computers as a hobby and can tell you now thats utter tosh! also i like to play around in Unreal engine 3 and love its versatility, its not VERY demanding on hardware either.

Anyway, if the game will be enhanced to take advantage of the PS3's blu-ray feature is there a possibility to release the texture pack for PC users too? From a hardware standpoint i can understand why the 360 version has them toned down, however it wouldn't affect performance much at all on a modern day computer.

I look forwards to mass effect 3, but please Bioware, add more content! i thoroughly Enjoyed ME2 but couldn't help but notice i spent over 80% (inverse to ME1 where it was just an hour at most) of the game recruiting my squad along with loyalty missions... and thats why im super happy that you released Overlord and am Really looking forward to Layer of the Shadow Broker!

WIth this movie, no one will have to worry about that anymore. ME1 won't matter now. I could be wrong, but bioware has said and done nothing to squash these fears.

If there is no exclusive conent 360/PC owners will get over it.

The best Mass Effect experence will always be 360/PC because of Mass Effect 1.

Its going to be interesting how they cover the back story becuase ME2 pulls alot themes that were explaned in ME1.

What's so different from that and a classics edition of a game?  The classics edition of Mass Effect 1 included the first DLC (as the second one was not out yet).  Do you complain that classics or GOTY editions usually have some/all of the DLC plus maybe some other stuff?

Just consider the PS3 version to be a classics edition, out 1 year after the original release date.  Heck, the classics edition of the Xbox360 and PC versions (with all/some of the DLC) might even be out by the time it comes out for the PS3.

Edit: Okay, I just saw that the classics version of Mass Effect 2 is already out, and apparently, without any extras.  But that's not usually the case.  I think many times games come with their DLCs when they are released as a GOTY or classics edition.

Maybe, but I'm thinking in order for ME1 to be released on PC and published by EA. Other than the exchange of checks, part of the terms of the contract were for a timed-exclusive release on PC/360 of ME2.

all for this, this should guarantee the next mass effect game on the ps3 as well, however i think the mass effect series should have been on the ps3 to begin with along side with pc.
