sheesh, i've just gone through 48 pages of rubbish, i thank few of you who actually made objective points.

First off im mainly a PC gamer, so if you Xbox and PS3 kids think you have a right to complain about "platform this; free that" you can run to the cupboard under the stairs right now because we're the ones who usually get the bad end of the stick. Fable 3 but not 1 or 2? thats just one of MANY examples; the constant delays? im surprised and thankful that ME2 was released at the same time as the 360 version. Theres a stereotype that ALL PC gamers are pirates, though im not convinced thats the sole reason we get cut out so much (aside from having to develop for millions of hardware configurations) because everyone knows that console games get pirated loads too. Now with that out of the way i want to share my opinions on this matter:

The only Fable not available for PC is Fable 2. Also you say not all PC gamers are Pirates and your not one of them, but you don't have your games registered. Why is that? :P   Like I said earlier I really just want the same content available to me. Other than that I'm all good.

The more i think about it, if mass effect 2 comes out for ps3, it'll bring in more cash, which will help bring in more money for mass effect 3, so it really isn't that bad.

If there is no exclusive conent 360/PC owners will get over it.

The best Mass Effect experence will always be 360/PC because of Mass Effect 1.

Its going to be interesting how they cover the back story becuase ME2 pulls alot themes that were explaned in ME1.

That could change though. ME3 might just involve ONLY the default choices and those you make during ME. I hope this isn't the case, but it sure sounds that way.

I couldn't care less that it's coming to the PS3, but it pisses me off that when ever the PS3 gets games later they always seem to get either all the DLC with it or get new stuff the other versions never got for the same price it was for the other consoles. Examples of this is Bioshock, Overlord, and now Mass Effect 2. So if EA/Bioware do it that way I'll be pissed.

What's so different from that and a classics edition of a game?  The classics edition of Mass Effect 1 included the first DLC (as the second one was not out yet).  Do you complain that classics or GOTY editions usually have some/all of the DLC plus maybe some other stuff?

Just consider the PS3 version to be a classics edition, out 1 year after the original release date.  Heck, the classics edition of the Xbox360 and PC versions (with all/some of the DLC) might even be out by the time it comes out for the PS3.

Edit: Okay, I just saw that the classics version of Mass Effect 2 is already out, and apparently, without any extras.  But that's not usually the case.  I think many times games come with their DLCs when they are released as a GOTY or classics edition.

You missed my main point where as they'd get exclusive content.

Couple hours earlier i thought Bioware was the best developer out there, but when i read the announcement all faith i had for Bioware vanished. It is very possible that i stop buying and playing your games. And i stop coming here on the forums. :(

I guess a lot of people missed this.    Although, it is no surprise.   I really don't think Bioware should be wasting time porting Mass Effect 2 over to PS3 instead of focusing on new games that can be released for both systems.  No Mass Effect 1 = kick in the **** for ps3-only owners who want to play Mass Effect so time to either accept a half-assed story or join the multi-platform club being it's fairly cheap to purchase either console these days (or get it on the computer if you don't mind using a keyboard & mouse which should be a matter of personal preference).

2 - im a huge fan of Bioware games, infact im pursuing a career in becoming a games designer with one of my long term goals being to get a job at Bioware :D so i am very protective of my beloved Mass Effect, so i share your concerns about ME3's integrity being compromised but honestly the way you people have been going on is like they've canceled the game! stop making presumptions and wait for an official response, who knows maybe, just maybe if your polite enough you might get one.

Work your ass off dude and learn all you can whether it be from college courses, workshops, or simply getting into the habit of training yourself in every technique out there. When I graduated normal mapping was just coming into the industry, that was a while ago, I worked my ass off and did internships(unpaid) and got burnt out from it and a lot had to do with just needing a break to clear my head but it didnt work out for me at the time. Even still there are tons of things you can apply yourself to out there, I work in production now for generating high quality adverts for print/magazine usage, amongst a ton of other avenues of work I do now. Guess I'm saying work hard and dont get discouraged, because the industry changes rapidly dude, from changes in software to hardware, techniques, etc.

Good luck though bud.

Some of you drama queens really need to grow up. Treating a PS3 port as an act of personal betrayal on Bioware's part is just plain silly.

I Am happy And angry at the same time.

I am happy because I am a PS3 owner and been waiting for this to happen. I couldn't wait so I bought both of them for my PC and they were awesome. And I said to myself: if they come on the PS3 I'll buy them again.

I am angry because I expect that both game to be on the PS3 not just one, and especially not the sequel. Because when I played Mass Effect 2 I imported my Character and found out that it was the greatest feature of the game, for me. But since the PS3 will only have Mass Effect 2 and no Mass Effect 1 there seem to be not import save feature. It will feel like what happen in Mass Effect 1 never happen and we will be stuck with those defauft choise, like the rachni queen will be kill and Wrex too will be killed and replaced by the Wreav and a ton of other choise. And the worst is: the choise of Mass Effect 1 will have no impact in Mass Effect 3 on PS3 because there no Mass Effect 1. In any case it will be a mess. If Bioware doesn't not include Mass Effect 1 with Mass Effect 2 or at the very least someting like the flashback like one of the user suggest I might not buy it, I dont know, we'll see.

Thank you Bioware =)

I played through the first two on PC - obviously I don't own a 360 - so I'm not that excited. But still, it's awesome to hear that PS3-only users can immerse themselves into the world of Mass Effect.

Should you add some nice goodies to the PS3 version then I might consider buying the PS3 version as well.

Keep up the good work guys, your games are amazing =)

A little late to the party it seems...

Anyways, I don't have a problem with the game being on PS3. I do have some worries about what this means for ME3. I will be pissed if the PS3 gets content not available for 360/PC. I'll feel pissed that I spent probably $30ish on DLC for ME2 alone and it will come packed in with the PS3 version(I understand it, but I don't have to like it) I will be upset if they cut certain things from ME1 out of ME3(Rachni queen etc) to cater to an audience that did not play the first game or could not import a save since the first game does not exist on their console of choice.

All I'm trying to get at is don't screw over the fans who made the Mass Effect series a success. If not for the 360 and PC users, Mass Effect 2 wouldn't even exist and we wouldn't be having this talk.

F*ck that!  You can't play ME2 without playing ME1!!  ME2 is an awesome game, but it's a goddam sequel A SEQUEL, for Christ's sake!"

Jesus,  you can't release ME2 for PS3 without, without releasing ME1 so these players can import games.  Without importing save games, they will be stuck with all of the ****TY renegade default choices.

No where in the announcment was it mentioned that the content was exclusive.

And why would it be?  EA is out to sell product and make money... so the same "bonus content" will also be available for the 360.

If PS3 gets "exclusive" content it will be something like a recap video for the ME1 plot, or maybe a new helmet or gun.

Quite hard to sum up all my feelings on this announcement. But overall, if no exclusive DLC is released for either the Xbox 360/PS3, and if ME3's storyline remains unaffected, I can live with it.

I highly believe (well at least, hope) someone will figure out a way to alter PC Mass Effect saves to be used for ME2 on the PS3.  Absolutely a "put that in your pipe and smoke it" moment. B)

I never said it was going to be exclusive I was saying "If" it were exclusive. So yeah I'm probably getting angry a little early, but just want to make sure it isn't exclusive and that us PC and 360 owners don't get back handed to the new PS3 owners coming into our ME universe.

The PS3 WILL get exclusive content. I remember an interview with John Carmack stating that Sony REQUIRES multiplatform games that are released later on the PS3 to either have a graphical enhancement or content only available to the PS3 or both.

I think the ps3 users deserve what they get. if we get all the dlc when you all paid for it - GOOD. heck, even if we get exclusive content - GOOD! Think about it, we're still missing out on the entire first game..

EDIT - AND the fact the exclusive content argueing is still goin on annoys me. WHERE in the announcement did it say exclusive content? it said BONUS! which would be DLC!

@Betrayed

you're right sir. But you forgot to mention that it's up to the publisher to decide on that. Sony's point of view is understandable: that game was exclusive to 360 because MS paid for it and now they wanna bring it over to our console, a year later or so.

Gotta consider the business aspect here ;)
