I'm assuming ME1 will somehow be downloadable for PS3 like it is on xbox live otherwise what's the point? ME is about making choices while playing an awesome game and if certain choices are default like it is if you start new for ME2 on xbox then I don't see why ME1 wasn't released first or both together. If ME1 isn't made available as well in one fashion or another soon then I'm afraid this attempt to expand ME to PS3 players will fail.

Only played Bioshock on the PS3 for the bonus content and because it was on sale. The port was OK but not great (Digital Extremes did the port not Irrational/2K Games). Apparently Dragon Age didn't fare well on the PS3 either but then the Xbox version also had issues. The PS3 version of ME2 could be superior but then you'd need a team who can really work the PS3 hardware like Naughty Dog.



Here's what I like, that I'll be able to play future Mass Effect spin-offs on the PS3.

Couldn't care less about the game debuting on PS3... what I *do* care about is this so-called bonus content. Maybe it's just the Cerberus network stuff that the xbox and PC players essentially got for free?



They did say "hours" of bonus content, though. However, Bioware also said that Overlord would take 2 or more hours...

It may fail, however, it also may bring more players into the Xbox 360 fold because of ME 1.

I dont know man, that cover art looked legit, isnt that song the theme song for the Wii version of Mass Effect? Quit messing around guys I'm not stupid, I cant wait to try the Mako out with the Wii Wheel.............

microsoft already said it aint hapening

While I believe that ME 1 will not be ported, we were also assured that ME 2 would not be ported by bioware. Microsoft would have to have an astounding offer in order for that to happen.

Why not just put the Mass Effect franchise on ALL video game platforms, EA!!!!! Come on, seriously! Hell, make ME2, AND ME3 for Nintendo DS, iPods/iPhones, and Wii. I mean, there's nothing the fans can do to convince you otherwise!!!! GO ALL THE WAY!!!! WOW, I can't believe this. This unique experience for Mass Effect franchise better not be ruined for the xbox/pc users because of the multiplatform bs.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the bonuses for the PS3 is a ME1 summary with a series of cutscenes and dialog wheels to set the player's choices for import into ME2. It would familiarize players with the storyline and allow them to set some (but not all) of the ME1 choices without presenting a dry utility with a bunch of checkboxes they don't have any context to fill out.

It's pretty obvious at this point that Microsoft owns the publishing rights to ME1. If they didn't you would have seen both ME2 and ME1 announced for the PS3 today.

Why would it be? There really isn't anything that the Xbox can do that
the PS3 can't, at least not as far as game development goes.
