While I believe that ME 1 will not be ported, we were also assured that ME 2 would not be ported by bioware.

It's pretty obvious at this point that Microsoft owns the publishing rights to ME1. If they didn't you would have seen both ME2 and ME1 announced for the PS3 today.

Then in that case I hope BW didn't waste too much time, money and effort to make this port happen with ME2 because I think it's going to be a financial bomb.

Well Bioware/EA has already made a bunch of promises they haven't kept.  They promised that there would be lots of DLC leading up to ME2 so there would be a definitive connection between the story of the two games;  only two DLC were every released for ME1 and neither of them was at all related to the main story. 

I still love Mass Effect, but I wouldn't trust Bioware/EA to keep their promise on either release dates or the incorporation of ME1 choices into ME3.

Why DA:O was a success.  Hell back with the delayed port of Bioshock it was still a minor success.

bioware maybe but with ea pulling the strings anymore its turnned into a bs operation

I wouldn't be surprised if Bioware said that before they were acquired by EA; the keyword is before.  EA is well-known for saying a game is exclusive to one console and then re-releasing it on the other consoles after sales drop for the so-called "exclusive" console.

I am a fan of Mass Effect and im a PS3 user so i like it that its going PS3 but even i would hate it that only PS3 users get free stuff that loyal Xbox and pc users never get to see and i hope they put Mass Effect 1 on the PS3 becouse u get to chose if u let the Council live or die (what in mine opinion is a VERY VERY important decision.)

Actually, it may not be a financial bomb. I started the series with ME 2, and then became interested in ME 1. The problem is that PS3 players will have to turn to either the Xbox 360 or PC in order to play ME 1.

lol it's the internet man, it's where all those never stand up for themselves in real life situations types gather to act as though they are the most superior and all knowing people that ever existed. sucks but that's how it is on the net.

No idea, but I would like to know, too.

Yeah, it would eliminate the arguement that Bioware is stretched for resources which could be focused on the third installment as many people are throwing out.

I know it's the internet. Hence you shouldn't entrust the internet and game consoles to teenagers. But anyway, teenagers are horrible creatures, so it's to be expected.

ME1 will likely never be released on the PS3 since Microsoft themselves are the puplishers of part one
