Has it been confirmed that Bioware is doing the port? Or whether an external company or EA is handling the port?
Christina Norman said on her twitter that Bioware's doing it, but they're getting more people

Woah, I didn't think Bioware would be doing it themselves

Christina Norman tweeted these two things this morning:
we are handling the port to ps3 personally
it is more like we get to hire extra people because of the ps3 port, it is a win win situation.
From this I think we can say that Bioware is doing this internally and that they brought extra people on to do this so ME3 and further ME2 DLC won't be affected as far as resources go.

No idea, but I would like to know, too.
Yes they actually hired more staff to help produce the port in house, rather than contract out to another dev.

Well, if they are hiring more people, then it eliminates the arguement that "BIOWARE ARE STRETCHED FOR RESOURCES THOSE BASTARDS SHOULD BE WORKING ON MASS EFFECT 3" that everyone been mentioning.
Now 1 more arguement is left, which is the whole "What about the choices from ME1". More news at 10.

Financial bomb? No. Stunning Success? No.Yakko77 wrote...
Then in that case I hope BW didn't waste too much time, money and effort to make this port happen with ME2 because I think it's going to be a financial bomb.
It's obvious that this game isn't going to set any sales charts on fire. It's a year old game, coming out on a system that has no built in fanbase, but it's also just a port. My guess is that the PS3 version is going to include all the DLC'S released up until the end of this year, some sort of ME1 summary, and maybe some other bonuses that are mostly fluff. The point is that Bioware is not going to be spending any money to create new PS3 exclusive content that they might not make their money back on. Porting the game to PS3, by itself, is not prohibitively expensive. The game will sell well enough that they will break even, or at least not lose big. The real prize for Bioware is a simultaneous PS3/360 ME3 release. That is where they will make their profit. ME2 PS3 serves as a way to introduce the PS3 only crowd to the franchise.

Kind of reinforces my point that choices should be implemented within that specific game
Like Awakening and from what I hear DA 2
ME 1 might get shafted but we'll have to see what will happen to ME 2 (not like ME 1 wasn't shafted in the first place)

This unique experience for Mass Effect franchise better not be ruined for the xbox/pc users because of the multiplatform bs.
The PS3 is not substantially different from the XBox that it will be unable to do anything that the XBox could do with the game. The idea that a PS3 port will ruin the whole franchise is complete nonsense. I'm playing it on the PC btw, and own an XBox (but not a PS3). Between the XBox and the PS3 though? As far as capability, one is as good (or bad) as the other. I really don't see the problem.

My guess it will be all the DLC that has been released for the 360/PC.
Pretty much the same as a Game of the Year Edition.

End result: more games we love. I mean look at the insane amount of content being released for DA:O and ME2. DA2 is around the corner and SWTOR won't be that far behind (I hope!).
I support Bioware's plans for world domination!

Ooor you know... They have to make... Mass Effect 2 accesible to the public who never played Mass Effect 1. Just a hint there, but it's not like that's interesting, so let's go with your conspiracy theory.

How about this: the ps3 version will open up a new revenue stream (how will ps3 users resist such a great game?!) enabling Bioware to get more money and therefore continue to expand, create new teams and studios.

I want Shattered Steel to be released on XBLA and PSN
I don't think that announcement would encite RAGE
Make em all cross platform
Back in the Day Baldur's Gate was in the process of being ported to Dreamcast and I also think Playstation
Good times
Now imagine playing that with that ****ty dreamcast controller

The thing is, I'm not talking about the capabilties of the consoles at all. As I said earlier, the experience of the franchise is what's count. The unique experience of an exclusive title is far more memorable and valuable than a multi-platform, don't you think?

Good, hopefully that means it'll be a good quality port. Releasing a shotty port to the PS3 would do nothing to help the games visbility among their fanbase.Comdawg wrote...

I've also notice that the case didn't have "Xbox Only" on it, but that could be becase of the pc port.
