This unique experience for Mass Effect franchise better not be ruined for the xbox/pc users because of the multiplatform bs.

Some would say it was already ruined by being on the XBox ;)
The PS3 is not substantially different from the XBox that it will be unable to do anything that the XBox could do with the game.  The idea that a PS3 port will ruin the whole franchise is complete nonsense.  I'm playing it on the PC btw, and own an XBox (but not a PS3).  Between the XBox and the PS3 though?  As far as capability, one is as good (or bad) as the other.  I really don't see the problem.

The thing is, I'm not talking about the capabilties of the consoles at all. As I said earlier, the experience of the franchise is what's count. The unique experience of an exclusive title is far more memorable and valuable than a multi-platform, don't you think? :(

Not anymore.  Just because Chrono Trigger is on like 10 systems now doesn't diminish its excellence.

Exclusivity was a symptom of the times.  Now 3rd parties have freedom that they should excercise.

Do you think that Sony and Microsoft will benefit from the motion controls and gain some of Wii's general audience?

I would say no, but then again I also said that the Wii would flop, so what do I know.

i did preorder kinect but only for that fact you can use voice controls to navigate you dashboard as far as the games go no thanks

dude dont lie, you know you want to play with the cut little baby tigers lol

alright you know my dirty little secret im so asshamed............

seriously though its cool that the dashborad can be controled that way

lol I know man I'm just screwin with you, Ruse will be spectacular if they can implement motion control on all platforms, I know it supports touch screens for PC.

Dance Central, that is all

Well EA has said hrs of Extra Content not Exclusive Content.
My guess it will be all the DLC that has been released for the 360/PC.
Pretty much the same as a Game of the Year Edition.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they also released a GotY editon for 360 and PC at the same time that had all the DLC up to that point.

Yeah how about Baldur's Gate HD

WOuld be groovy, but Baldur's Gate 2 is still damn pretty

Maybe if they just up the resolution and remake Baldur's Gate fully in that engine (not talking about Tutu'ing it up, complete overhaul).  THat would be pretty epic.

Uhhh, no. It a videogame is memorable and value, it's because it's a pretty damn good game. Not because of the exclusivity or the golden pedestal it has. It's like complaining the Mona Lisa was moved from one museum to the other, and people say it's not great because it's not in its original museum. Because I assure you, people appreciate Mona Lisa for being a tremendous piece of art.

And if Mass Effect is excellent, that means people love it, not because it's 'exclusive'.

Going to repeat this again:

Has it been confirmed that Bioware is doing the port? Or whether an external company or EA is handling the port?

Christina Norman tweeted these two things this morning:

we are handling the port to ps3 personally

it is more like we get to hire extra people because of the ps3 port, it is a win win situation.

From this I think we can say that Bioware is doing this internally and that they brought extra people on to do this so ME3 and further ME2 DLC won't be affected as far as resources go.

Good, hopefully that means it'll be a good quality port. Releasing a shotty port to the PS3 would do nothing to help the games visbility among their fanbase.

Is Bioware actually doing the port? or is it another studio eg like Dragon Age for the consoles

Doesn't everyone just love this?! I'm so pumped. I can't wait to have better graphics and only one disc.

I highly doubt that it would be a shotty port; if anything, it may have better graphics.

I don't know about better graphics, but one disc sounds appealing as they could get past some of the issues

What makes an exlusive game more memorable and valuable than a multi-platform game? How is your gaming experience so enriched by the "Only on Xbox" sticker on your game case? It isn't, it's the games content that defines the experience and if that content isn't adversely effected, you have no reason to complain.

Mm although something Monkey Island like would be cool, switching between original and HD...

The PS3 is certainly capable of better graphics (just look at Killzone 3), but only if the programmers put in the extra effort and have the know how to use the systems strengths. A lot of xbox ports have not looked better on PS3 and a few have been much worse. Knowing that Bioware is taking the time to do the port themselves makes me think that this may be different.

Bioware just want more gold! Isn't that what exclusivity is about? It's loyalty bought with gold.

Bioware's a company that makes money presumably...so this action's not that surprising. Just think of it as spreading the love (!?) if that helps

Not the announcement I was hoping for, but I'm glad to see PS3 owners will be able to enjoy this game as well. Bioware and EA had to start making a better profit at some point I suppose.

Besides, the original Mass effect will remain exclusive. So PS3 owners still won't get the full experience.

While many of us were developing ulcers over the future of Mass Effect, Chris Preistly deemed posting this comment more important than addressing our concerns -

I asked Christina Norman on twitter, whether or not Me1 choice will be played down more in Me3, now that ps3 can't play Me1, and she told me "Me1 choices will have a big impact on Me3". Which reassures my only negative thought about making Mass Effect playable on Ps3.

I suppose this woudnt be such a bad thing so long the money helps fund the ME movie and they dont get ME1 in any way shape or form.
