BG was fun back in the day, ME is fun today. Both are great games, but I doubt BG would have the same appeal today. Its not just about appealing to everybody on every system, but about gamers changing as well. I did play BG back in the day (and I consider PS:T the best game ever), but I am not sure I would buy new BG-like game.

I have and idea. How about when they ask you what happened in the first game, you play like 20 minutes or so of that part and decide and what happened then. It's not like playing the first, but I think it's a good way to convey the story of the first one.

I used "deep" in contrast to "shallow". Exchange it with complex, it that suits you more.

And about Baldur's Gate: Well, that's sad. I would buy it, and they would like to develop it: "Someone in the audience asked there might be a re-release of Baldur's Gate. Zeschuk responded to that question from the audience saying it would require a lot of communication between companies like Atari, Interplay, and BioWare and other businesses. Of course, the worst outcome would be if because PS3 players don't get to make ME1 choices, those decisions don't matter in ME3.

This is exactly where my mind went the moment they announced it lol....Hence it has cinched my decision to sell my copy of ME1.  Figure I can at least get 10 bucks for it at gamestop which will make up the difference I owe for when I go in to pick up my copy of Fallout: New Vegas this October.

My complaint ISNT that ME2 is available for PS3.....My complaint here in lies with the possibility that ME1's decisions are going to mean squat as a whole in ME3.  Unless they make another announcement in the future of bringing ME1 to PS3, I will from henceforth be suspicious of anything regarding ME3.

However, this isnt even my "worst" fear....No no no no nooooo....With this announcement, my WORST fear for ME3 has reared it's ugly little head.  And that fear is this: 

That not only will my choices made in ME1 mean exactly two things; Jack and **** and Jack left town, but that there will be a "prompt" at the beginning of ME3 that will allow us to "alter" the key choices we made in ME1 which is what project WOMBAT ended up being to begin with and thus ME3 being the biggest video game disappointment for me since Sniper: Ghost Warrior and Magna Carta 2.

Again, Im not saying this IS going to happen....However, at this point, it sure as hell wouldnt suprise me either.  Until BioWare can prove to me otherwise (which they wont given how tight-lipped they're being over LotS DLC) This is going to be my own personal "worst case scenario" that will play out for ME3.  I will most likely buy ME3 regardless because its ME and it's fun.  But at the same time I will be silently laughing at my own idiocy for buying ME1 to begin with if this scenario plays out.

Wow, i just read the first few pages, looks like the fanboys are geting all upset about a game coming to another console, i have never cried about games on the console i own going to another console.

I think it's great that more people get to enjoy the game, don't see why you fanboys are so upset though you still have the game, it hasn't been taken away from you.

Also i think it is very silly to call bioware sellouts just because they want to let more people enjoy their game that they worked very hard on, some people here are just so damn rude.
So many of you are so ungrateful that you don't deserve the game and i'm just talking about the fanboys not everybody here.

But it's kinda funny seeing so many fanboys praising a games like it was their god and then their god brings the new baby home and they get jealous.

To the fanboys... deal with it.

umm why is everyone acting like bioware commited genocide. the easiest way to solve this "me1 for ps3 means previous saved games are irrelevant". just at the beginning of each new game simply have a option screen where you can pick your previous storyline.

i would like this because i only use my xbox for mass effect because i cant transfer the saved games to my awesome new pc. after mass effect is done my xbox is scrap metal just like what every xbox is in reality.

The ps3 version should have something like a one hour interactive comic book which recaps the story of ME1.Choices could be made while viewing it.

The story in ME2 was terrible, but maybe it will be some extras on PS3 version.

Thanks Bioware. I have been telling my friend about what an awesome game this is, and she wanted to play it so much but she only has a ps3 and her computer doesn't meet the requirements. She asked me today if ME2 was available on the PS3, and I said no I think it's a Microsoft exclusive. So while I was on the phone with her I checked the forums and saw this. SHe is totally psyched for it and says she will be preordering it.

Glad PS3 users will finally be able to experience the game, but IMO, not being able to play ME1 means they'll be lost to experiencing the magic of importing their saves and seeing their decisions (and their Shepard) unfold. It's just not going to be the same for them the way it was for us. A little concerned that this will push ME3 further back, just means I get to replay 1 and 2 a bit more.



In light of this news, seeing the PC and 360 crowds slagging each other off here is priceless.



360 players; a good PC trumps a console in tems of performance, plain and simple.



PC players; NEWSFLASH - no one cares how powerful your rig is. I have a pretty good setup, do most of my gaming on consoles simply out of preference. Time for some to live with this simple fact.

They could import choices from the first game as like a flash back during the rebuilding phase of Shepard where it flashes back to different event's(Genophage,Liara/Ash, any other key part) and have us choose that way much like you can already answer a few questions about your past the first time with Miranda and Jacob on the way to see TIM.I am a ps3 gamer as far as consoles is concerned and will never play xbox again probably but i dont hate them.I will be playing ME3 no matter what though because while i am a console gamer here lately i do more pc gaming then anything else because pc has has games that can hold my attention much longer.Games like Counter-strike,Oblivion,Dragons Age Origins,ME/ME2.Pc has just as many good to high quality games as both consoles but i agree.ME2 going to PS3 will help far more then it will hurt.People say it will take time away from ME3 development but im sure they have hired people to handle the port to ps3 and will continue using the core folks to make ME3.

I still think those of us who have play through both games will see much more in ME3 then the ones who didn't get the chance.Look at how many people you run into alone on ME2 from the ME1 game that you don't see in the default Shepard game in ME2.People shouldn't worry about their choices i don't think.They will still reward those players who have put hours into the previous two games by having quest's/interactions from npcs from possible ME and ME2 in the new game.

Those concerned about your ME1 choices being irrelevant shouldn't be worried; ME2 accounted for the possibility that players hadn't played ME1, and ME3 will do the same. There's no reason at all to think the lack of ME1 on the PS3 will change this strategy.



I'm more worried about stupid exclusive content wars with ME3 (for example, DLC available only on one console or the other), or the very real possibility that the ME2 port will have new content those of us who bought the game for the 360 or the PC won't be able to get.
