I would love it if a tool were made for ME 2 and ME 3 so people could choose what they would have done in previous games (for pc and both consoles). I play ME for the fun of it, it wouldn't make my ME 1 play troughs invalid , cause i enjoyed it highly. ME is one of those games, when i finish,my brain is "mind numbed" (means that i am blown away with the epicness).

If the "bonus content" is just weapons and armor the 360 won't be getting I won't give it a 2nd thought I've already beaten the game enough times, but if its some interesting story content which is meant to be "bridging Mass Effect 2 and 3" I'mma be pissed =P
Word. I was expecting to see a GOTY edition at some point (similar to Fallout 3), which wouldn't frazzle me in the slightest.

I have and idea. How about when they ask you what happened in the first game, you play like 20 minutes or so of that part and decide and what happened then. It's not like playing the first, but I think it's a good way to convey the story of the first one.
Accually I think that is what BW trying to do... giving a short version of ME1 for the PS3 players.

what some people are forgetting is that it is Microsoft who is insisting that Mass Effect 1 not come to PS3. It is this insistence that is "potentially" going to impair the nature of your ME3 playthrough, by impairing save game transfer compatibility. Just think about that for a moment.
its the mindset of the company like MS or Sony
Sony would do exactly the same

Wow, 72 pages in and you can really feel the love. Have a few things to say.
Glad PS3 users will finally be able to experience the game, but IMO, not being able to play ME1 means they'll be lost to experiencing the magic of importing their saves and seeing their decisions (and their Shepard) unfold. It's just not going to be the same for them the way it was for us. A little concerned that this will push ME3 further back, just means I get to replay 1 and 2 a bit more.
In light of this news, seeing the PC and 360 crowds slagging each other off here is priceless.
360 players; a good PC trumps a console in tems of performance, plain and simple.
PC players; NEWSFLASH - no one cares how powerful your rig is. I have a pretty good setup, do most of my gaming on consoles simply out of preference. Time for some to live with this simple fact.
Can't wait to see how lively this place gets when the PS3 crowd shows up...
we're already here, we're just enjoying the show
LOL, I meant when you arrive en masse. It couldn't be any worse than the reception a console gamer gets when entering the forums over at Steam...

the bonus content is going to be a port of all of me1's content over to 2. a 2 in 1 game. (probably not)
"shepard, you're back? you died!"
"i get that alot"
"Good news is, you killed Saren and sovereign two years agon and let the council fall... bad news is, you'll have to do all that **** again AND fight the collectors"
"Talk about time paradox..."

I agree. I don't own a PS3. I play Mass Effect on Xbox, but I think this is awesome news. The more people that get to play this excellent game, the better.

well, Sony has taken a very different route to exclusive titles, and I think I'd prefer it
Microsoft has been blatantly paying for delays. That... sucks. That's actually proof that competition doesn't necessarily benefit the consumer. Leave it to Microsoft to fundamentally disprove an established axiom.

It can be done. Main campaign is about 10 hours long, and side missions were mostly driving the Mako to a modular building or mine. If they go 2/3 disks they shouldn´t screw it. Hope MS has no copyright about story, or all the saga is going to waste.nightcobra8928 wrote...

If you are trying to make sony out to be the good guys or have some moral high ground, you had better just stop. They paid off retailers to NOT carry the dreamcast back when the PS2 was coming out.

Firstly, the opening dialogue "Shepard did more than we could have hoped for...." needs to be scrapped so that Miranda can later ask something along the lines of:
Miranda: "Commander, during the battle of the citadel you were presented with a unique opportunity for humanity, sources indicate that the fate of the council hinged on your very words... what happened to the council....?"
The Council was saved
The Council was lost
Miranda/Jacob then asks the existing question about who lead the new/existing council based on the last question. Next the fate of Rachni queen, e.g.;
Jacob: "Shepard, back on Noveria you encountered [insert description here] called the Rachni... [insert moral implications here].... what happened to the Rachni Queen?"
The Rachni Queen was saved
The Rachni were too dangerous
Finally...
Miranda: "Commander: Also on Virmire, another one of your teammates a Krogan bounty hunter called Urdnot Wrex was with you the day you destroyed that Krogan cloning facility, my understanding is he attacked you and endangered the entire mission putting the lives of all the crew at risk, am I right?"
I let him live
I killed him before he could get off a shot

Those concerned about your ME1 choices being irrelevant shouldn't be worried; ME2 accounted for the possibility that players hadn't played ME1, and ME3 will do the same. There's no reason at all to think the lack of ME1 on the PS3 will change this strategy.
I'm more worried about stupid exclusive content wars with ME3 (for example, DLC available only on one console or the other), or the very real possibility that the ME2 port will have new content those of us who bought the game for the 360 or the PC won't be able to get.
Do some of you even read what you type before hand? Yeah they accounted for that ALONG WITH having an ME1 save carry over instead of having to "account" for it.

For the LAST DAMN TIME. MS owns the rights to ME1. IT WILL NOT BE ON PS3. Can you guys get that? I mean god...

After some thought about how they will handle the import choices on PS3 i've come to the decision that an extended memory test with Miranda and Jacob is really the easiest and most straightforward way to go; basically all this will amount to is about 3 additional new questions with some slight re-working of existing dialogue:
Firstly, the opening dialogue "Shepard did more than we could have hoped for...." needs to be scrapped so that Miranda can later ask something along the lines of:Miranda: "Commander, during the battle of the citadel you were presented with a unique opportunity for humanity, sources indicate that the fate of the council hinged on your very words... what happened to the council....?"

Next the fate of Rachni queen, e.g.;Jacob: "Shepard, back on Noveria you encountered [insert description here] called the Rachni... [insert moral implications here].... what happened to the Rachni Queen?"
The Rachni Queen was saved
The Rachni were too dangerous
Finally...Miranda: "Commander: Also on Virmire, another one of your teammates a Krogan bounty hunter called Urdnot Wrex was with you the day you destroyed that Krogan cloning facility, my understanding is he attacked you and endangered the entire mission putting the lives of all the crew at risk, am I right?"
I let him live(i convinced him that the healed Krogan would only be slaves to Saren)
I killed him before he could get of a shot(I couldnt calm him down and unfortunately had to shoot him)
That would be a great idea

One of my best friends, and my brother owns a PS3. They are no less of a person than we are. There is almost never a group of selected that are all pricks. The majority of PS3 people as well the majority of xbox 360 people are kind.
I already have on definite buy among my buddies, and that's only because the others either already have it in some format or I haven't had the chance to tell them the good news yet.
The "cinematic" nature of ME2 is something that I think is going to reach well a lot of the people who bought into PS3 for it's movie capabilities but are mostly casual gamers. Just hope there is going to be some way to compensate for the lack of ME1...

Who said "good guys?" Everyone's a good guy next to microsoft, but that's not the point.
You can't pull up some point against the dreamcast into this current discussion. What Microsoft has been doing this generation is bad, and that's what I'm talking about. It's really the only thing worth talking about in this kind of discussion. I'm not bringing up the fact that Microsoft has notoriously fought against monopoply laws, or brought up how that mentality has bled into their attempts to dominate everything they touch.
Sorry, I was trying to stay moderately current, without revising history in my favor.
