funny if there was another announcement saying: it is coming for ps3
ME 2.......in one = (ME1+ME2)

It can be done. Main campaign is about 10 hours long, and side missions were mostly driving the Mako to a modular building or mine. If they go 2/3 disks they shouldn´t screw it. Hope MS has no copyright about story, or all the saga is going to waste.

For the LAST DAMN TIME. MS owns the rights to ME1. IT WILL NOT BE ON PS3. Can you guys get that? I mean god...

If you are trying to make sony out to be the good guys or have some moral high ground, you had better just stop. They paid off retailers to NOT carry the dreamcast back when the PS2 was coming out.

Who said "good guys?" Everyone's a good guy next to microsoft, but that's not the point.

You can't pull up some point against the dreamcast into this current discussion. What Microsoft has been doing this generation is bad, and that's what I'm talking about. I'm not bringing up the fact that Microsoft has notoriously fought against monopoply laws, or brought up how that mentality has bled into their attempts to dominate everything they touch.

Sorry, I was trying to stay moderately current, without revising history in my favor.

[sarcasm on]Sony is a welfare company right [sarcasm off]
Sony is not any bit better than any other Company specially not MS
you sir are one of the reason we have this milelong thread in the first place

ioWare boss Ray Muzyka, speaking in Cologne today, has told VG247 that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 is to include introductory content to provide a “seamless introduction” to the IP’s universe, as well as confirming the inclusion of DLC and access to the Cerburus Network.

Following confirmation of a January 2011 release for a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 in EA’s gamescom press conference yesterday, Muzyka said it was important to the studio to “bring some new things to bear” for the PS3 version.

“One of the things we’re doing is that we’re bringing a lot of the post-release downloadable content and will integrate it into the experience, so that PS3 fans can check that out and play it,” he said.

While confirming the inclusion of an introductory segment for the PS3 SKU, Muzyka was cagey on specifics, refusing to confirm whether or not new gameplay is to be included over the 360 and PS3 version.

“We’re making sure there’s a really seamless introduction to the world of Mass Effect, for players that haven’t experienced it before,” he said.

“So even though it’s Mass Effect 2 specifically, we’re making sured there’s a nice introduction experience, that provides the back-story and the things that have happened up to that point in the universe, and makes it a really seamless introduction.”

He added: “We haven’t revealed what that is yet. It’ll be something that provides a good introduction and provides a lot of the back-story and introduces you well to the story-arc, and kind of makes you feel like you’re part of it all. And then you can jump right into the action in Mass Effect 2.”

To the game itself. Don´t know if that includes a remake/retelling/whatever, If it does, any who cared about ME1 characters can probably forget ME3.

Cute... I said Sony was also a monster company.... Maybe it's actually people like you, the people who can't read, who drag out what should be a simple point: IT'S A GOOD THING THAT MORE PEOPLE GET TO PLAY THIS GAME, and it's in Microsoft's court to "ruin' the game or not by denying the port of the first part of the game.

Should be easily doable, seeing as large parts of it are already there (sorry, could not resist :P).

Mass Effect 1, first published by Microsoft in 2007, will remain exclusive to Xbox 360.

"And the original Mass Effect is absolutely an Xbox 360 exclusive, making Xbox 360 the only place to get the full Mass Effect experience," the company added.

Nice try, though.

Except I played it on my Macbook running bootcamp...

Weird... I guess it's not such an exclusive. I'd prefer to play this kind of game on console (like most games) though, so my reaction to this news is not "meh." If I can transfer my characters from part one PC to PS3, I'd be happy, but I still think Microsoft should just sell the rights to part one, because at this point, all they're doing is ruining the experience of the game for a large portion of gamers.

They smugly admitted as much in their "response" to this news.

Maybe the PS3 version could also get an option to import PC saved games. That way people can either play it on PC and transfer, or they can simply download some pre-made ones from the website that has a bunch up and use them.

It shouldn't be too dificult for them to do this. They already have the code... I wonder if there would be a good reason why they couldn't do this or it is just laziness.

And you do realize that it is very smart on their part? Now for anyone to fully enjoy the entirety of mass effect, they must buy the pc or 360 version. Might be a pain in the ass, but it will definately give them a large profit.

I have to say this is kinda stupid to start in at number 2. If anything you should release mass effect 1 and 2 as a package to ps3, don't just give them one game(the inferior one in story I might add).

For those people who don't like this, I say this was bound to happen sooner or later. ME1 started as a "xbox360 only" and look what happened half a year later, Pc version. Something similar was expected with ME series as it went to the future. Never underestimate the allure of profits.

Microsoft OBVIOUSLY responded to the PS3 crowd as ME1 has been available for the PC for a long time.

And to your other point... Why don't you tell your folks at Sony that they should get their heads out of their rears and allow Konami to port Metal Gear Solid 4 to PCs and Xboxes so all the people who enjoyed part 2 could finally end Snake's story, hm? Or give PC gamers back Heavy Rain?

Oh well, gaming for me has run it's course. I've slept on it and realized the gaming industry is not something I'm willing to support any more. It's seems that money > quality is all that matters to big gaming companies. ME will suffer because of this just as Bioshock suffered.
