Nope! They are going to cancel Mass Effect 3 all together and produce and new MMO set in the ME universe. Also, Mel Gibson will play Shepard in the Micheal Bay Directed Mass Effect movie from Sony Pictures.

To XBOX owners - Place the blame with E.A and Microsoft not Bioware they just puppets now...
To E.A. - You guys are pure liquid ****. You corrupt everything you land on. You're Evil bastards.
To Microsoft - Your failure is so massive in not securing the entire trilogy that I have no sympathy for you. You deserve what you get.
To Bioware - You are truly E.A's ****. What's next guys? Mass Effect Cart? Mass Effect Online?
To PS3 users - You don't deserve Mass Effect. Your community has ridiculed it, belittled it and flat out refused to play it. You don't deserve it. You know you don't.
MS seemed to move away from heavily pursuing the publishing/studio owning model a couple years ago. So it's not like this is surprising. For gamers, this is great, as multiplatform games are far preferable. To me, it's Sony sticking to the Japanese model of pouring money into companies for exclusivity that's annoying. But it's Sony-- that's what they try to do with all their products.

long ago (you may remember the news about the hidden PS3 code in the 360 version), but EA was bond to an exclusive agreement with Microsoft for the year 2010. That's the reason of the "ME2 never on PS3" declarations, and I don't blame Bioware for that. I don't believe this porting will delay much ME3...more likely the X360 and PS3 versions of ME2 have been developed together....
Bioware is now finalizing the very ambitious "Star Wars: the old republic", project and there are no doubts the best talents of the software house are on it.. I hope they will be able to handle the effort a bit better than Blizzard, whose World of Warcraft MMOG has strongly penalized the Diablo 3 release..

Oh well, gaming for me has run it's course. I've slept on it and realized the gaming industry is not something I'm willing to support any more. It's seems that money > quality is all that matters to big gaming companies. ME will suffer because of this just as Bioshock suffered.
True dude
but lets hope it doesnt yah

The easiest thing to do for PlayStation 3 owners would be to extend the questions in the shuttle to just ask about Rex and the Council etc.. Although I am sure they have come up with a cool way of doing this to allow PS3 owners to experience the full range of outcomes. I also think they have spent to much time and money getting this branching storyline working that this depth will not be compromised for the third game. Just my quick thoughts.
maybe they'll give us the opportunity of making the choices of ME1 on flashbacks from sheppard's memory while he/she's unconscious.

Actually it's Microsoft that pours money into companies for exclusivity. Sony just buys and owns the company for exclusivity. That's why the 360 will never see any of these PS3 exclusives - Sony owns all the companies that make them. Or they own the IP when it's their Second party developers like Sucker Punch with inFamous.

Yes, plz.
they already said they're adding more to the beginning of the game to ease new players into the mass effect universe, what this means though is unknown until more information is released.

all they're doing is ruining the experience of the game for a large portion of gamers.
And you do realize that it is very smart on their part? Now for anyone to fully enjoy the entirety of mass effect, they must buy the pc or 360 version. Might be a pain in the ass, but it will definately give them a large profit.
Exactly, it wouldn't be in Microsoft's interest at all to release ME1 to another console platform when they can entice gamers to purchase a game they can't play without their hardware.
The only problem is that PS3 gamers are going to miss out on alot, specifically the moment when you first meet Sovereign/Nazara. Then there' s the moment you meet Vigil on Ilos. Those moments are revelations that set the framework and the stage for ME2.
Without ME1's stronger story, ME2 will play very differently. So it's not just about Bioware creating some flash-foward method of helping PS3 gamers to slip right into the action of ME2, it's more about how weak ME2 is without the original story to drive the continuing saga.
I agree. However, if Bioware were owned by Microsoft they would more than likely break grounds with new releases as opposed to having to worry about wasting time making the game for other systems when they should be focusing on new titles, add-on's, dlc, and more sequels/prequels, etc..
Now, I understand it's not "fair" to people who only own a PS3, etc.. however most platforms get enough exclusives to warrant purchasing them all if you really are a fan of video games in general. I own all systems as well as more than one gaming computer (including a gaming laptop). I would rather Bioware get back to their roots of "quality" as opposed to just being about the numbers under EA's rule. Electronic Arts have done a lot for the gaming industry there is no doubt about that, however I do not believe Bioware is able to work at their full potential under EA rule.
The story of Mass Effect 1 definitely makes Mass Effect 2 so much better. Yes Mass Effect 2 looks better visually and has some great characters, missions, moments, etc.. however Mass Effect was ground breaking in the RPG world as far as the current generation of RPG games are concerned. Mass Effect 2 is a worthy sequel however you really need to play Mass Effect 1. I would not bother buying the PS3 version unless I either a) didn't care about experiencing the whole story or
I see no reason why PS3 owners shouldn't be able to experience the game however I see no reason why Microsoft should release their rights of Mass Effect 1 when they helped popularize the title and Bioware's name to those who were unfamiliar with them. Bioware was always regarded pretty highly, but their popularity really went through the roof with Mass Effect and that was in part thanks to Microsoft promoting Mass Effect as well.

Alternatively, if Bioware did something along the lines of a "streamlined" style of ME1 content, then I guess only major plot based decisions would be included, not minor side quest based decisions and outcomes.
Of course, this is a major limb that I'm going out on and this is just an assumption. But with such little information, I can't help but voice concerns over what Bioware is planning or already is doing.

You can always tell when a PC fanboy enters a thread, always butthurt about how small the pc gaming community has gotten in relation to how much larger the console gamer base has grown.
Don't get me wrong, I play some games on the PC.. but it's not as if there were a tremendous amount of mods to add to the replay value for Mass Effect 1 or 2 on the PC as opposed to the 360.. KOTOR 1 and even more so KOTOR 2 are different stories but that seems to be fading away. The most popular Mass Effect mods barely change gameplay other than the ashley-fem shepard romance mod which is still minimal in my opinion. KOTOR 2 actually had a lot added to the game and story so it warranted a pc purchase even though I owned it for XBox. Yet, I still would rather use a 360 controller over anything on the market (keyboard/mouse is just not comfortable after a while and definitely not in front of a large screen hdtv on a nice comfortable couch. the ps3 controller is so small that if you have hands bigger than the average girls, you will more than likely be hitting R1/R2 L1/L2 by accident like when playing Uncharted 1 & 2 and reloading by accident in the middle of a firefight).

maybe there could be a terminal that sheppard can access in the beginning where his profile and reports are all stored, you could just choose on what is there

Sony does the same, they buy 3rd party exclusives like Heavy Rain or MGS4 and exclusive content like Batman, Mafia II or Mirrors Edge.obie191970 wrote...

I think I would do something like that too, at the start you get a series of descriptive questions and pick your answers from those. Like:
Conrad Verner has been bugging you forever and ever and he's real lame and quite possibly slightly retarded. (Except a longer more descriptive text)
A. Shove a gun in his face.
B Talk some sense into him.
C etc etc

Of course they do, but not even close to the extent that Microsoft takes it.. Look at the stable of first party studios for Sony compared to Microsoft and look at where the majority of exclusives games have come from in the past two years.
