4. it was one of the few MS exclusives
This is the point I find most laughable. ME1 was exclusive to the 360 for all of 6 months people.
Until they released it on Microsoft Windows.

Except when it inevitably slows down the production of ME3.
It will not slow down production. The games all run on the same engine which is cross platform capable and will only need minor variations for each.
They still have to spend several months programming it for the unnecessarily complicated ps3.
And of course they'll delay the release of ME3 for a long while after it's finished so the 2 people who actually buy it "have a chance to finish their game".

3. Not any worse then xbox fanboys are. Seriously this is the pot calling the kettle black the way you put it.

ioWare boss Ray Muzyka, speaking in Cologne today, has told VG247 that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 is to include introductory content to provide a “seamless introduction” to the IP’s universe, as well as confirming the inclusion of DLC and access to the Cerburus Network.
Following confirmation of a January 2011 release for a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 in EA’s gamescom press conference yesterday, Muzyka said it was important to the studio to “bring some new things to bear” for the PS3 version.
“One of the things we’re doing is that we’re bringing a lot of the post-release downloadable content and will integrate it into the experience, so that PS3 fans can check that out and play it,” he said.
While confirming the inclusion of an introductory segment for the PS3 SKU, Muzyka was cagey on specifics, refusing to confirm whether or not new gameplay is to be included over the 360 and PS3 version.
“We’re making sure there’s a really seamless introduction to the world of Mass Effect, for players that haven’t experienced it before,” he said.
“So even though it’s Mass Effect 2 specifically, we’re making sured there’s a nice introduction experience, that provides the back-story and the things that have happened up to that point in the universe, and makes it a really seamless introduction.”
He added: “We haven’t revealed what that is yet. It’ll be something that provides a good introduction and provides a lot of the back-story and introduces you well to the story-arc, and kind of makes you feel like you’re part of it all. And then you can jump right into the action in Mass Effect 2.”

I'm pretty sympathetic about some ME1 decisions not having a dramatic impact in ME2, since all these variables have to trickle into ME3 - but since ME3 won't carry into anything afterwards, I expect they'll go all out and all the decisions I made in the first two games should add up to a fairly unique playthrough. I hope the PS3 situation doesn't change that.

Our chat closed with talk about the challenges BioWare is facing in terms of delivering real choice to the player without letting the story spiral out of control.
"It has to be one or the either. Either you really let people's choices have repercussion. Or, the choice doesn't really affect things and then things end up coming back together. As we're doing parts one and two, we have a really difficult challenge in terms of creating very different outcomes and yet being able to continue the story. The good thing about the third one will be that we no longer have that constraint and things can diverge as far as we can make them go.
That actually will be our goal with the whole trilogy. To take all of the things you've done in Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 and then just let it go. Let it diverge into wildly different conclusions. That's the real fun of having played Mass Effect 1 and 2 and then going into the third one will be that you've set all of these things in motion and now we can let them diverge. I'm not worried that people will play it and think 'Oh well I missed all of this content that would have been different if I had made other choices' because what that does is make you interested in replaying it. The replay value of Mass Effect 1 was huge, but Mass Effect 2 is much more so and I think it just continues into the conclusion of the trilogy."

Do you realize that Bioware has about 500 employees? Do you think that Bioware just started on the port after the announcement yesterday or that maybe this was most likely started before ME2 even went out the door in January?

In my time gaming I've encountered fanboys of every platform and found them all to be the same. Xbox fanboys are just as obnoxious as Sony fanboys, who are just as obnoxious as PC fanboys, who are just as obnoxious as Mac fanboys. For every rabid fanboy you will find another person who feels that platform wars are stupid and who respects the fact that individuals have different gaming preferences.

This was said a while back after the release of ME2 and considering it won't be released until 2011 on PS3 I'd be guessing they started programming a couple of months ago.

Except Jay spilled the beans in Poland prior the ME2 release ... Chris just did his usual doublespeak and his statement is technically right since ME1 (as standalone game) is not going to be released on PS3.DetailedSubset wrote...
