besides you 360 only owners should have probably spread the word of mouth better so mass effect 2 didn't under perform in sales. If mass effect 2 really sold t then bioware probably wouldn't be porting it.

I'm really suprised with the ME2 sales. Didn't even make it into the top ten for the year. Hopefully a lot of PS3 owners will pick it up, I think it deserves better sales.

Wow, some people are taking this too personally. I don't mind that PS3 only owners get the game. In fact I own a PS3 as well. I also don't mind that the DLC will likely be packaged in as well. After all, why shouldn't it. This is essentially a "Game of the Year" edition and the lot of you wouldn't complain like this if EA released a "Game of the Year" edition for the PC or 360.  And what is with all this "waiting an extra year" crap? I somehow doubt that a port would impact development of the sequel. Have you not heard of studio expansion and having different teams work on different things?

What I am personally curious about is how Bioware would deal with the lack of ME 1 on the PS3. If they do something creative enough, it may warrant a repurchase. Specifically if they exclusively remake some segments of ME1 for the PS3 to explain the story. If they do this, it may whet my appetite enough to consider looking at a double dip. After all, ME 1 mechanics did not age well and I don't really want to jump back into that game.

I agree with you on all levels.

I supported them bought a 360 just for ME.I'm a PS3 gamer but still when I played ME1 on my friends pc i loved it.It customery to include free dlc in gaming industry if a game is coming to a console or geographic region late.In this case 1 year and I'm sure ME3 DLC will have to be payed for by PS3,360 owners alike.Didn't the same thing happen for the late ME1 pc version but look equal treament for the pc and 360 for me2.

yes i had mass effect and mass effect 2 the day they cam out. im just saying that we got to enjoy the experiance a year before ps3 owners did. so it is a fair trade off

I love the ff series but ff13 was crap.First I blamed the 360 but it was SE fault for not adopting to multiplatform programming.Look a crap game like ff13 sold 5 mil why cause it was multiplatform.

cool, i wasnt having a go i was just curious. they really shouldnt of kept saying "360/pc only" though, causes problems for those undecided for what system to buy in the future when they see things like this happen, if you know what i mean.

ME1 has sold 2.26 million in three years.  ME2 has sold 1.9 million in 7 months.  And those are just 360 numbers.  To say that it underperformed or is a failure is plain wrong.

I'm going to buy a PS3 eventually for MGS4. It's an epic game that's way too epic NOT to play just because I don't have a PS3. Although the new installment starring Raiden in his Ninja get-up is going to be on the 360. Finally they throw a good Metal Gear our way.

you cant just blame them alot not all of them but alot of ps3 fanboys(i know someone is gonna reply to this as if i was insulting all the ps3 only users) did everything they could to make the game seem horrible

Honestly, i own all three "consoles" if the PS3 version has more to offer, then i might consider a double dip into that version as well.

if a game like halo can sell 10 million then mass effect deserves to sell at least 3-5 illion

PC users got Mass effect 1 several months later, and what did we got? Not a goddamned thing, no free DLC, no exclusive content, nothing (expect for the hotkeys replacing power wheel and better graphics, which is a caracteristic of the PC version also included on ME2, not exclusive content).

Why in name of god are PS3 user gettin extrastufft, when we, PC users didn't get something when ME 1 was released? That was the same situation, Why the favoritism?


Unless PC users (and 360 users, for that matter) get all the free content that PS3 is getting don't expect me to buy anything else bioware releases from now on.

That's why i'm Pissed off, i really don't care about ME 2 being ported, i just want all the versions to be equal.


EDIT: And i'm a PS3 owner, if i had known that a full, cheaper version of ME 2 was being released for PS3 i wouldn't have wasted my money on all the DLC i bought.

well i don't know the ps3 side of things because i bought the ps3 in 2008. many of the forums i visit "vgchartz" ps3 owners seem to be happy mass effect 2 is coming over

There is no way you can compare sales of a FPS with a RPG.  And if you add the PC sales into those figures then you are in the 3-5 million range.
