It's still the same game that you love, its just more people get to play it now.

Is it because that it's also on a different console now?.. thats a pretty sad reason.

It's not necessarily about a 'Console War' (I could care less about the XBox vs. PS crap).  The concern is that if one console isn't even going to have Mass Effect 1, the choices made in that game might become almost null and void in Mass Effect 3 across the board....for PC, for XBox, for ME3 in general. 

I'm assuming they will create Mass Effect 3 similarly for all the three consoles now (PS3/XBox360/PC) therefore, the things you did way back in ME1 just won't matter hardly at all, as they aren't important for PS3 users.

Well for alot of ppl a game is only good if its exclusive to one system oe in this case two. I have a PS3 but i wont buy ME2 for it since i have ME and ME2:CE for the PC.

Good thing I have passed both of the games.

It's just my Xbox died before ME 2.. so I had to borrow my friends Xbox. It didn't make me enjoy it any less.

God forbid more people get to enjoy it too!

Seems like they didn't reach enough of the noob target market if it needs a PS3 port

Mass Effect came out in 2007.  Mass Effect 2 came out in 2010.  What makes you think that Mass Effect was going to come out before 2012?  Based on that release schedule, I would guess that to have the same level of polish and quality that ME2 has, ME3 will need at least 2 years of development.  

Not to mention they ave been working on DLC and other projects.  I think 2012 is a very realistic time for ME3 to come out.

Well they are going to have to tack on a year to port ME2 on the PS3 and it adds time to develop the PS3 version of ME3 alongside the PC/360 versions.

This is it exactly. They won't go out of their way to make an XBOX only version of ME3 that carries over choices from ME1. This might be good news for Sony owners, but for PC and Xbox owners it's a drag. I have no desire to even play ME1 anymore. Nothing you do in it will matter to the 3rd game now.

I'm a PC gamer, so I could really care less about console exclusitivity, but if the PS3 version of ME2 gets any exclusive content, or any of the extra content that we had to pay for for free, I'll be livid.

I have enjoyed this game non stop on my PC but likely I will buy it aswell for the PS3, it will be a different experience.

... But i can't imagine many people wanting to buy it or play it if they can't play the first one on PS3, whats the point jumping half way into a trilogy, there isn't. I cant see many people bothering with this unless you include ME1, just a waste of resources IMO but thats just me.

1) We don't know any details of what's included in this release, we've only heard blanket statements...and hell, this announcement was only done an hour ago, during a press conference. The only thing confirmed is that ME2 is coming to PS3. Whether or not this includes ME1, or ME1 will be available at a later date, or if there will be another method entirely for preserving character choices is unknown.



2) The exact line was "hours of extra content", Not "exclusive" content. Most likely, the PS3 release will include the DLC released thus far.



Let's try not to grasp at straws and run amok with speculation.
