Both. You are getting old and cynical, but people are also getting dumber. Not just the gaming community - just people in general, everywhere.

If it was like that then there would not be a reason for multiple consoles (a good thing) but the true is consoles depend on their exclusives since those are the games that attract people towards a specific console.Blk_Mage_Ctype wrote...

It's possible that they tried and EA out & out refused them.
Realistically, there's no way that Microsoft could actually pay them enough that it would actually be worth it.
You can make boatloads of cash on a multiplatform game.
It's also possible that Microsoft either assumed that EA would never try it since they couldn't release ME1 with it, or that Microsoft wised up since what happened with both Ninja Gaiden games and just figured they'd save their money.
Maybe it's because I own all 3 consoles, but I have to ask...
Who cares if a game is exclusive or not? Wouldn't you prefer that a game be multiplatform so everyone can enjoy it, and so that the developer makes a larger profit on them that can be put towards the budget of future titles?

Maybe it's good business now but it'll eventually bite you in the butt. If it's free for PS3 owners then it sends a message to those who paid that Bioware doesn't care about them.
It's no different than a cel phone company or cable company offering promotional rates to attract new customers that existing customers can't get.
Seriously? How is any different from the GoTY edition that is certainly going to be released for the 360 and PC? Why should those people get it for free? You guys have got to be kidding me.
It ain't worth it Obie. They're literally too stupid to understand this concept.
Can't help myself. At 40 years old and as a gamer for the past 25 years I swear the gaming community is getting dumber and dumber. Or maybe I am getting old and cynical.
HA! On both counts I take it.

What is there that needs to be made up for? For making a decision to bring THEIR PROPERTY to another platform???? You are and end user, you have no real rights to your copy of ME2 or any of the DLC, say you decide to get rid of your 360 and decide to play just on PC, guess what you cant keep the DLC. You bought it at the time when it was sold for a price that you decided to pay, nobody made you buy it, you choose to buy it, but you are an end user, you have no real rights to it, again Bioware and EA OWN THE RIGHTS TO THEIR PROPERTY therefore anything they do with it is their right. There is nothing that needs to be made up for, they dont owe you anything.
so your saying that they cant be fair to the customer the one that helps provide them money is that what your saying ???
your interpretation of FAIR, which I dont know what world you're living in but the world most of us are in tune with is not a very fair world, but your interpretation of fairness is that Bioware and EA give you MORE free stuff(how much has Cerberus Network provided free? which they could have charged you for) for a BUSINESS DECISION they made with THEIR OWN PROPERTY. Years from now when ME2 is 19.99 are you going to flip out on the retailer for selling it for 19.99 when you paid 59.99-79.99???
You interpret fairness as someone providing you with a means to be a freeloader just because you dont agree with a choice they have the legal and creative rights to make, and that's fine everyone goes about their days differently, but just because you see fair as one thing doesnt mean Bioware and EA see it that way too.
no i dont care about how much the game costs that was to be expected what im talking about is the DLC why should PS3 get it free is what i saying i got the collectors ED. the price on mass effect 2 dropped i dont care about that that pair i know is my fault im saying PS3 owners should pay for DLC too why should it be thrown into their laps the director said in the interview check the game informer about what systems get ME2 why lie and then go " by the way 360 and PC fans PS3 GETS ALL THE DLC FOR FREE " all im asking is if bioware listens to us for advice on a good game and all that then make ps3 pay for the DLC the game itself is already a lower price.
the PS3 version of ME2 is 59.99-79.99(depending on collectors editions) how is it lower for PS3 users????
think of it like this ME2 you can buy from a major retailer for what 39.99 for 360, and probably find it for less from other shops, with a Cerberus code. So lets think about this 59.99(PS3) - 39.99(360) = 20.00 how much $$$ does the DLC that you PAY for as of this DATE cost? I'm sure it's about 20+ bucks wow PS3 users arent really getting anything for nothing now are they???
now how sure are u that they will charge normal price for the game ??
are you just that lazy you cant inform yourself, you want everyone to tell you how things are first???
http://www.amazon.co...82167206&sr=1-1
it's 59.99

So, if Bioware were to say "Thank You for supporting our business by purchasing our DLC." that would be good enough for you and you'd stop complaining immediately?
Somehow, I doubt that...
Don't mince words, you want a freebie.

If you're truly 40 years old and reacting that dramatically to all this, then I feel sorry for you...
Also, "dumber" is not a word.
I'm not acting dramatically, I'm trying to reason with people who are on the verge of jumping off of the ledge. And thanks, while I realize dumber is not technically a word, it has found common usage in the English language.

^This.
Truthfully, I was initially upset about this too. I didn't want PS3 users to have what us 360 and PC users have.
BUT after reading this post, I realized that it will help BioWare make more money, and possibly /maybe/ work out for our benefit.
Maybe this will give them the profits needed to get ME3 out early, or get our Liara DLC out to all countries, or to be able to give us the PS3 content if it is different from ours.
Personally, I still respect BioWare. They've made 2 games (ME1&2) that I never have the same experience with twice.
(This was my first post on the forums. Go easy on me please!)

You know what, you know why they never had this problem with entitlement issues and whatnot before? Because they never had DLC before. This nonsense with exclusives and bonuses and pre-order bonuses and all that garbage only became annoying when DLC came along. Why don't they just go back to giving everybody the entire game in the box right away, and have done with it? DLC is the worst thing to happen to gaming and gaming communities, and will no doubt be the death of quality titles, or even the entire industry.

At least that way i won't be losing that much money the next time they lie about something., it's not about the game, it's about how i feel defrauded as a consumer.
How the hell did you lose money? Did you play the game at 30-40 of playtime? Did you play through it more than once? It's a freaking video game - Were you expecting it to increase in value?
Mass effect cost aroung 60 bucks, and the DLC i bought cost around 15 bucks (and even more, depending on the quantity of the DLC released for the PS3, maybe 20 or 30 bucks total).
While PS3 version is getting those DLC packs for free, i had to spend 15 bucks on them, if they had announced that version from the beginning i would have waited for that version (i own a PS3), hence, saving myself 15 or more bucks.
That's why i lost money.

IMO, only 1st Party games like The Legend of Zelda, Halo, & God of War should remain exclusives.
And don't tell me that isn't enough for a console to survive on, because it's been working just fine for the Wii.

It's not the devs duties to maintain games on a single platform. That's what first party studios are for. This generation alone, a LOT of titles has ended up on multiple platforms. Final Fantasy XIII, Devil May Cry 4, Tekken 6, Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid Rising, Grand Theft Auto IV. The ironic thing is all of this is despite becoming more and more of a common trend people continue to **** and moan about it, as if it's their given right to claim it's exclusivity.

The exculsive (bonus content) that EA/Bioware was referring to was an exposition (ME1 Lite persay) before ME2. So nah they will still be relevant. Christina said so, as did a few other devs. I wouldnt worry about this.

Choices still matter! Introductory DLC for PS3 confirmed! Everyone worried about ME1 choices being downplayed, worry no more... actually might give us reason to buy an ME2 PS3, just to play this DLC of ME1 (with ME2 graphics!!)
edit: actually, it'd be nice if they put this on the 360 as well... for those who don't want to go back and play me1 (in case there is anyone like that)
