How the hell did you lose money?  Did you play the game at 30-40 of playtime?  Did you play through it more than once?  It's a freaking video game - Were you expecting it to increase in value?

Mass effect cost aroung 60 bucks, and the DLC i bought cost around 15 bucks (and even more, depending on the quantity of the DLC released for the PS3, maybe 20 or 30 bucks total).

While PS3 version is getting those DLC packs for free, i had to spend 15 bucks on them, if they had announced that version from the beginning i would have waited for that version (i own a PS3), hence, saving myself 15 or more bucks.

That's why i lost money.

Well, with that reasoning you would never be able to buy another game or piece of DLC again.  I didn't buy Fallout 3 until the GoTY edition came out, so the millions of people who paid $50 for all the DLC lost money on it?  Or they thought it was a worthy investment of their $10 at a time to add some longevity to a game they enjoyed playing?

Valve gives stuff free for their fans (free updates of Team fortress 2, free copies of L4D 2, Alien swarm and the list goes on), and they are still one of the most profitable companies on the market.

That just shows you how can you be thankful to your fans and still be a profitable company.

If you were willing to wait (as you claim), you could have waited for the 360 version to drop in price (as it has done) and saved EVEN more than 15 bucks. Not on the DLC, sure, but on the game itself. That way, you'd get the game and the DLC for the same price as the PS3 folk, at the same time. Earlier actually, since you can already do that now and PS3 owners still have to wait.

Current price of Mass Effect 2 (New Copy) + Price of DLC = Price charged for PS3 version with DLC.

And that's assuming that the PS3 version even does have the DLC.

I think the problem is that instead of announcing a GOTY edition for PC, 360, and PS3, this announcement comes off a little backhanded. I'd wager that most of us paid full price for the game, and the DLC as well.

The game is just about six months old, and there's a complete version being released for a system that's never even touched the game, much less supported it. That's a page out of the Bandai Namco school of business, there.

A general GOTY release might have gotten a "Damn, maybe I should have waited" response, while this narrow, PS3 focused release seems to be more "Hey, what the hell are you trying to pull".

I don't really want to say it, but EA's shown a bad streak of PS3 favoritism over the last year or so, and this is just adding to it.

You know what, you know why they never had this problem with entitlement issues and whatnot before? Because they never had DLC before. This nonsense with exclusives and bonuses and pre-order bonuses and all that garbage only became annoying when DLC came along. Why don't they just go back to giving everybody the entire game in the box right away, and have done with it? DLC is the worst thing to happen to gaming and gaming communities, and will no doubt be the death of quality titles, or even the entire industry.

Oh, then I suppose developers will stop releasing DLC since it's failed miserably in it's own purpose?

I don't really care about PS3 getting the game, I'd preferred it to stay with the 360, but I can deal, what has me worried is the "Hours of bonus content". If the PS3 gets anything other than some form of ME1 recap that the 360 users don't get to play, then I doubt I'll be buying any other Bioware games, which is going to hurt since they are about the only games I buy anymore. There's no excuse to reward PS3 users with content that 360 users don't get, when it's the 360 (and PC) users that generated the cash flow for them to even be able to port this game over. Included DLC is a sin I've grown used to with GOTY editions (great slap to every loyal new-release purchaser), but unique content is going too far.

You guys are never going to believe this. Last summer I saw this incredible movie called Avatar in the theater. I paid like twenty bucks for IMAX. Then, I walk past the DVDs at Target and see these money-grubbing bastards released it in a whole new format! And on top of that, it has all these extra features, thrown in for FREE!!

Does James Cameron care nothing about the fans, to betray them like this?

Releasing films in a much lower quality with a couple features to make up for the MASSIVE reduce in quality from the cinema to their living rooms. Makes sense.

I can think of a couple of DLC that got released on both downloadable and physical format at roughly the same time (RE 5 gold edition, anyone?) so it's fair for both the people that already payed for the DLC and the people who didn't.

And seeing how things are, i'm actually thinking of never buying DLC again, especially from Bioware.

Yes, i'm waiting for a GOTY edition of ME 3 if any.

There's a reason for that. Microsoft has some really bogus restrictions and rules when it comes to DLC & Patches, and after the whole fiasco with Bad Company 2's DLC, EA is fed up with Microsoft.

And if Microsoft wants it to stop, then they need to quit being so damn greedy and allow developers more freedom with their DLC.

No i won't, in fact i woudn't believe them.

I AM selling my bioware stuff (most likely, if i can sell it at a good price), but that doesn't mean i don't enjoy their  games.

I simply won't support them again, i'm just renting their games from now on, buying cheaply used, not downloading DLC etc.

At least that way i won't be losing that much money the next time they lie about something., it's not about the game, it's about how i feel defrauded as a consumer.

Your loss.  Bioware makes great games.  Pretty stupid to give them up because you're too much of a fanboy and/or girl.

you see what im saying??? you retards wanna insult those who think differently by calling them fanboy/girl or by trying to make them look like complete idiots even if they just arent happy with this because of other reasons

your not any better your just as bad maybe even worse....
none of the people complaining are talking trash about those who are happy with this so why do you feel the need to insult them?  your just as defensive as a common fanboy/girl

Choices still matter! Introductory DLC for PS3 confirmed! Everyone worried about ME1 choices being downplayed, worry no more... actually might give us reason to buy an ME2 PS3, just to play this DLC of ME1 (with ME2 graphics!!) :)

edit: actually, it'd be nice if they put this on the 360 as well... for those who don't want to go back and play me1 (in case there is anyone like that)

If they could release it to PC too it would be nice. I mean, they can add it in a way like "other campigns" in DOA

I'm not talking DLC, I'm talking in general. Exclusive content for PS3 games, bungling when it came to the 360 beta for Medal of Honor, and so on.

EA's had a Sony bias ever since the first Xbox, it just wasn't as obvious since that platform died.

you say it like you wouldnt want to be thanked.... man your like a robot lol

dude I've done unspeakable **** for my country under the context of duty and freedom, I dont expect people to knock on my door with a fruitbasket and say thank you for serving our country so we could focus on better things like reality TV and video games. I deal with the cards I've been dealt, SURE a verbal or written thankyou is appreciated, but I dont expect my countrymen to polish my knob for what I've done for my country. Why? because nowhere is it written that they have to. Lol even still it's probably best they dont walk up on my property, as of the way I am now they'd likely end up looking down the barrel of an assault rifle. Just saying, and no I did not retain much of my sanity, such is to be expected from my experiences.

Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 never came out for PS3. It was a different game called Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2.

Same with Mass Effect. It will never come for PS3. Mass Effect Prologue will. As a part of Mass Effect 2 release. You get me?

I'm a very patient man, and i put that patient to test with Starcraft 2, twelve years, twelve goddamned years which is half of my entire life, and i still haven't bought the game because i'm waiting for a bundle release of the three parts.

I can endure a few months, piece of cake.

lol Steam is a service dude, people that are a part of it invest in it, they gave free copies of L4D2 because of a screw up on their part, not because "o gee wiz we oughta give out some free **** to everyone today", free updates lol what game doesnt have free UPDATES.
