I hate fanboy-ism. I personally dislike my PS3 as a gaming device but I have no issues in expanding the fanbase.

As a player I found it weird they decided to launch the 2 instead of the first, but in the developers' view, it wouldn't make sense launching an outdated games such as ME1. But I play on the xbox and Bioware said it will not have any impact on ME3 and I have to trust on them.

As long as they don't get more content than me, I really don't care. Good for PS3 and good for Bioware.

I am certainly glad that ME2 is finally coming for the PS3 since I have been telling all my friends about how great this game is but it seems all my friends have PS3's and I am the only one playing with Xbox 360!!

Also, with the delay of the dlc of the Lair of the Shadowbroker which I expect to be out sometime in September...just my personal guess....by the time they come out with it on PS3 all of the dlc will be out!

I just hope that PS3 owners don't get something special that us PC/XBOX owners don't/won't have. Now that would ****** me off. Royally.

Why?  If anything it would likely be minor and would be to help boost sales.

I have seen a LOT of upset people about this, I don't actually recall ever seeing them claim ME2 was exclusive, it was always just assumed by everyone since the first was exclusive that the 2nd would be.  Its not like they are forcing anyone to buy it and frankly, those that get it on the PS3 now, would likely have always gotten it on the PS3 had they the option.

Oh and if I see one person that says "I got a 360 JUST for ME and ME2" I feel NO pitty or sympathy for you, you don't buy a system for one game unless your loaded with more money then brains.  That might be harsh but its true.

I for one and glad that more people can enjoy the game, although I do have a PS3, I wont personally get it on there, I already have it on the PC, no reason for another copy.

Thanks Bioware and EA... too bad ME1 wont reach the PS3 community but I hope that ME2 included a summary/video recap with all the story of the first game

I think there are a lot of assumptions in this thread, I encourage you all to stay tuned as more details of the PS3 release are given. I am personally very happy that ps3 owners who were not able to play mass effect will now be able to. As a developer, anything that gets a game I made to more players is good news.

I'm excited too! I've wanted this day to come since ME1 was released! But I'm hoping ME1 comes to the PS3 as well, because I do really like the idea that I can continue from the results of a ME1 save and I'd like to take advantage of that.

As it is, I have ME1 on the PC but I don't have ME2, and I still haven't played either of the games. So at this point I'm going to wait it out a bit longer and see what happens. I'd totally buy ME1 again if it were released on PS3. Or better yet, if I could use my PC save on a thumb drive or something to continue from on my PS3 that would work too ...

Here's hoping!

Microsoft  owns the rights and already came out and told everyone to get stuffed.

Edit- Ups,sorry for the blank post.

I think what we all want to know, Is, will ME3 have a full hardcore sex scene? as we all missed out on side boob in ME2.

At best, if I were a PS3 owner who never played Mass Effect yet, the chief concern would be the solution to saved games/information in order to move to the next chapter.

If they made something to convert that information, your then implying that the 360/PS3 are simply like FedEx and UPS. Their just insuring only 2 are on the block and its really just a multi-port scam at the end of the day with a few graphical achievements that are themselves debatable.

For me... I feel very sorry for someone that believes a quick, you-tube like run down of ME1 is sufficient to claim that they've experienced the Mass Affect series. This is like reading Cliff-Notes to every novel you've heard about --- its a hack way of doing things. Sloppy. Lazy.

If someone felt that way, then why bother even playing Mass Affect? Just wait until the entire series is done and watch the collected FAQ's/Videos.

What they should do is present Mass Effect 1 at a lower price or a DLC. I see no reason to burn off a new game and sell it at 50.00.  Look at  Dark Star One: Broken Alliance. Its got a retail price of 8.00 on the PC compared to the 360's 50.00.

Say --- Mass Effect 1 for the PS3.  15.00

Unless ME1 is made available as well in disk or download format, I'm afraid this effort to expand ME to PS3 users will fail. I'm not wishing that by any means. Anything that expands the fan base for my all time favorite game is a good thing but I think BW REALLY screwed up if ME1 will not be made available as well. Seriously, this a colossal screw up if ME1 cannot/will not be made available to PS3 users and this coming from a non-PS3 owner who wants PS3 only owners to enjoy the full epic that is ME.

Agreed. I have purchased ME1 twice (once on the 360 and once on the PC) and would gladly repurchase the game on the PS3 just to support it (in the same way that I will be repurchasing ME2 on the PS3 to further support it). The more I think about it, it is going to be very interesting to see how Bioware goes about implementing the decisions from the first game, and the eventual third. I know Microsoft said that ME1 would be staying on the 360, but either Sony, EA, or Bioware should step up and actively try and get the game on the PS3. It's going to be much harder to attract a following on the PS3 without the inital hook that the first game gave despite the quality of the second (at least IMO).

I for one welcome our PS3 brethern with open arms. Hopefully Bioware can find a way to share the ME1 experience with them as well. ME2 and ME3 wont be complete without the first. It's like watching LoTR trilogy but skipping the FoTR part.

I can't believe people are really upset about this lol

This fan boy crap really needs to stop, both 360 and PS3 are good systems, and I for one welcome my PS3 brothers and hope they get ME 1 as well. Hell, I already have ME 1 and 2 for both 360 and PC, maybe I'll pick up the PS3 copy as well.

i have always liked bioware and loved all their games and think they are one of the best developers but over the past years i have been a little bit dissapointed with them. FIRST, The old republic(I dont need to say any more on that matter). Second, Dragonage . First was good and was definitley inferior to mass effect but had its own style that made the game unique and now DA2 is released and is looking like Dragonfecct. We dont know much yet and im sure it will be good but i am a bit dissapointed. The final straw is the ME 2 move to PS3. I read it on IGN and I was 97% positive it was a joke but........ it wasnt. Im still confused on this move because ME1 wont be going to PS3 anytime soon(thank god) so what the heck is the point of playing ME2. Are they going to have to play the default shepard cuz nothing would be able to transfer to me1. This is obviously a way to get more more money. Lets be honest Despite what Bioware says Me2 ps3 will cut into ME3 development unless they already made this game a while ago because if they cant figure out how to let u toggle a dam helmet they need the entire team to figure out how to give the pS3 the true mass effect experience. This proved to me that bioware is just getting greedy. Ruining a great franchise with a mmo most of the fans wont play cuz itz only on PC or dont want to pay to play is ridiuclous. Game looks good but i wont pay money to play it. Now after mainstreaming ME2(which was great) they are mainstreaming DA2 which could make the game better but at the cost of its idendity. I recognize them as the premeire rpg makers but after ME 3 i think im done buying games from them. Peace

Its not " Fan-boyism". Hell I own both the PS3 and the 360... so I'm covered. The point I'm making is the question of the transition of the ME1 saved games....or completely skipping ME1 and turning it into some lame you-tube run through. I'm more interesting in preserving the experience. Damn the systems.

Don;t worry.  PC/360 users WILL 100% get emails that pay tribute to some of their ME1 decisions.

This. Fanboys are incredibly pathetic. I'm sorry, but they are.

I would absolutely love to have one explain to me, with honest to God solid points, why ME2 coming to the PS3 is a bad thing, beyond "Waaaah, waaaaah, I don't want other people to enjoy this game!"

Surely there are more important things in your life than PS3 getting Mass Effect?

The only valid complaint here is the ME1 issue, which I'm sure BioWare will handle just fine.
