You know that Bioware will incorporate features that allow people to make more choices regarding the events of ME1 in the PS3 version. You'll be able to choose Ashley/Kaiden and Wrex, as well as choices pertaining to the council.

So for everyone else who got the game at launch...we're stuck with a crappy default beginning, while PS3 owners get to make key choices. This is going to be just one of the ways that the PS3 crowd get over on the rest of us I'm sure. Probably several missions and an extra squad member too. The fact that this game will fit onto one disc also opens up the possibility of being able to recruit all squad mates right after Freedom's Progress, instead of having to split it on two discs.

I get the feeling that a special edition, or GotY edition may accompany the PS3 release. If not then there's a slim chance that the bonus content comes in the form of DLC...which we'll all have to pay for. I'm really hoping that the fans who've been loyal to this series so far don't get shafted because we didn't buy on playstation. It would seriously, and I do mean it, give me pause when considering the purchase of ME3. Before, there was nothing to consider.

I just just realized this Image IPB. Can't believe I didn't think that would be a possibility Image IPB.

A certain robot would still be locked out due to plot requirements.

Not so sure about this. I mean, that would require new dialogue since in the x360 and pc version it wasn't for instance possible to have samara say things during the recruitment of archangel, simply because that specific order of recruitment wasn't possible. Would be cool if they added some cool mako style exploring levels or bigger exploring in general though. I've always hated the fact that you instantly dropped off in a relatively small level and instantly returned to the normandy. I liked the exploring/walking in ME1. The blu-ray disc should be big enough for this but somewhere I know this is foolish hope.

Damn it!

They couldn't make it to ME3 without going multi-plat? Crap. There's no way, this isn't going to affect the depth of the story. There's no way a title with this much depth can avoid going under the storyboard knife when you add a group of players who can't possibly be brought up to speed in full.

I can see it now... ME3 pure FPS action don't worry what happened before.

I can't stand the PS3 controller for shooters. Those joysticks are way too loose.

Make that money Bioware.

I'm a big Bioware fan and PS3 fan so i love that the Mass Effect series is coming to PS3 but seriously where is ME1! I want the FULL Mass Effect experience, not just the tail end. I want to not have to buy an XBOX360 just to play 3 games! I don't care that the games a few years old, i'd still buy it and i'm sure it plays fine and the story is what really matters! Please release ME1 with full DLC inclusive (cause we know the Bluray can fit it) and with the carry on save feature that this game series boasts about! I think that Bioware should get the msg if enough of us ask for it. I'd even prefer if the port for ME2 was delayed so that a port of ME1 could come out prior to its release so they can have the carry over save feature. That would make my life so much easier. I'm reading the prequel book and already have the game guides.

ALSO I want my Liara love story! What'll happen there in the 3rd game when she comes back (and we all know she will) and there wont be a possibility for prior emotional attachment without the 1st game!

Here's a question, do we (and by we i mean PS3 owners) get the Blood Dragon Armour? I got it for Dragon Age and don't want to buy a seperate one for the ME2 port.

Anyways, regardless of what you decide Bioware, thanks for bringing the series over to PS3. Please continue making games for us.

Enough said about PS3 exclusives. Sony lost so much money on the PS3. IMO its a cheap bluray player at least thats my PS3 is doing. Just playing bluray movies and God of War 3 ( not worth $299 for the game). Xbox is my main gaming console and im thinking of selling my Nintendo Wii. Its gathering alot of dust. As for Mass Effect 2 on PS3, good for them. They get the watered down no ME 1 choices version I guess and add a STORY SO FAR cutscene with all the DLC included like Overlord and Kasumi. As long as they dont butcher ME 3 or make the ME1 choices insignificant i dont care. I want Grunt and Wrex on my main squad in ME 3 damn it ! It would be epic.

While I'm quite happy it's coming to the PS3, the more people that play it the better I say, I'm not liking these rumblings that the PS3 version will include all the current DLC for free. I mean they are already developing some exclusive backstory content for the new version, plus there is plenty of fluff DLC that could be included for free without it being too big a deal; but if it ends up meaning Kasumi and Overlord are included too I shall be somewhat annoyed. They weren't -that- cheap... =/

This doesnt impact the schedule for ME3.

As it relates to the RTM version sure-The real question is, how it will impact the patching and DLC schedule...*cough-DAO/Awakenings -cough*

Anyway, should yield some more sales and greater exposure to the ME franchise-kodus on being free from the exclusivity deal at least.

I believe the PS 3 IS getting a form of the Cerberus network, i don't think everything will be free.

As far as the extra content, you do know there is an excellent chance the 360 version will

get a platinum hits release which will probably include a lot of the same free stuff as the PS 3.

And knowing Microsoft, they will probably package ME 1 and 2 together, in fact i'm sure they will.

I really hope Bioware starts trying to pull themselves away from these "console wars".

Its just getting to expensive for a lot of us with the economy getting worse.

Why? Its common for later releases.Pc players got bringing down the sky for free for example.

Wow I may be mistaken, but my posts were removed for EA bashing. Haha. Showing off their mastery of douchebaggery. Activision may be the new king, but EA still is good at it. Oh nm it's on there. Just not near the front like it was yesterday...weird.

Indeed, that's one piece of DLC. I stated in my post I understand them giving an incentive, but surely that's covered by the exclusive content, and Cerberus content? Even if that's not 'enough' then it would be a little off to give them all of the dlc for free.

*shrugs* just my 50p. All that dlc adds up to a fair bit really.

Why do i feel like xbox users will get shafted? in all this? this is the little info on the gamestop website for you to pre-order the game

"Mass Effect franchise to Playstation® 3! Enhanced for Blu-ray with stunning visuals, bonus content and additional features! "

Yes i expect the update grapgics but bonus content and additional features makes it seems like they going to shaft people who bought it on Day one and still play it and giving these new guys extra stuff and for free... I am not against the game going on theps3 I am all for it..but I don't think its fair there going to give us the short side of the stick...

That article is pure drivel that is meant to rile up fanboys and get the website more hits. It's also innacurate as they diddn't include the worldwide numbers and just focused on the xbox's strongest market, the US. Halo is one of the most popular franchises the industry has ever seen, not selling as well as it is not a sign of failure.

Honestly, I'm not going to re-buy a game I already played at full price. They say that ME2 will be on the PS3... oh well... and? You won't see me getting it because of better graphics. Who cares? Its the same story with the same folks. I'll just wait for 3 and see what it comes with the X-box.

I have both systems but if I started a series on the 360 --- I'm going to darn well end it on the 360 just like I wouldn't play Dragon Age the same way except on the PS3.

If they shaft people by giving something for free that others paid for --- that's on Bio Wares head at the end of the day. Good luck with that PR Machine, he or she will have to give birth to gold nuggets to get back the lost support.

Look at it from their point of view, they might feel like they're getting shafted because they had to wait an extra year to play the game. I don't understand how any of you can be upset about them getting the DLC for free, it doesn't effect you at all, Bioware is the one not making any money on it. You're just making yourselves sound like petty fanboys.

Furthermore ---

What the retail guy said at GameStop today was that the Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 will indeed have a short-hand, cliff note version of ME1. What a cop out. It certainly does imply the reasons for the drastic change you saw in ME2 on many levels and gives certain credibility to the notion about monkeying with the original story because of the Multi-platform release. I wouldn't be thinking this way if they just did it properly by offering ME1 at a discount price along with what ever they do with ME2.

So lazy individuals can just watch a cut-scene write up, make their swift choices and move on?

All I have to say is that I pitty those that will go that route, they've spoiled their experience and treating the game like most did with Assassin's Creed.

Extra goodies that were once paid for by others would be another harsh insult.

Hell I even bought ME2 at retail price because it proved a worthy purchase.

Jacob: OK, this is getting tense. Shepard, if I tell you who we work for, will you trust me?
Wilson: Now's really not the time, Jacob.
Jacob: He's never going to join our cause if he's expecting a shot in the back.
Wilson: It's your call, Jacob. If you want to p*** off the boss, go ahead.
Jacob: Shepard, we're with Cerberus.
Shepard: I had run-ins with Cerberus when I was a Spetre. Back then, they were trying to kill me. Why the change of heart?
Jacob: Those answers are way above my pay grade. The short answer is, things change.
Shepard: Oh, OK
Jacob: .... and we wanted to port you to the PS3.
Shepard: NNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!! ARRRRRRGH! OH, THE HUMANITY!

OK, folks. These efforts to "prove" the port to the PS3 is a horrible thing are really having to stretch.

If this kind of logic held, I could have recruited all the team members right after Freedom's Progress because I play on the PC.

Gamestop guys don't know jack squat, so even if he ends up being right you shouldn't give him credit for it.

It's blatantly obvious at this point that Microsoft does infact own the publishing rights to ME1, if they didn't Bioware would have announced both games as coming to the PS3 yesterday. They have no choice but to summarize the game for the PS3 crowd, hopefully they'll do it right.

Stop being childish about them getting the DLC for free. This is a common practice for games that get late releases on another console, it's hardly a "harsh insult". They had to wait an extra year to get the game, Bioware knows they can't sell an old game to a new audience without some extra content. Why not add the content they've already made? It makes perfect sense from a business stand point.
