Sorry about that. Will edit. I still don't think what described will happen, however.

Enough said about PS3 exclusives. Sony lost so much money on the PS3. IMO its a cheap bluray player at least thats my PS3 is doing. Just playing bluray movies and God of War 3 ( not worth $299 for the game). Xbox is my main gaming console and im thinking of selling my Nintendo Wii. Its gathering alot of dust. As for Mass Effect 2 on PS3, good for them. They get the watered down no ME 1 choices version I guess and add a STORY SO FAR cutscene with all the DLC included like Overlord and Kasumi. As long as they dont butcher ME 3 or make the ME1 choices insignificant i dont care. I want Grunt and Wrex on my main squad in ME 3 damn it ! It would be epic.
yeah combined with other things Bioware has been doing recently, im starting to like bethesda more, L liked them both before, but Bethesda is jusst looking much better, either have the games out for both at the start, or keep it exclusive, im not having it dumbed down for PS3 playes because they cant play ME1.Gorn Kregore wrote...
this is why fallout new vegas is gonna be better heh none of this biased console crap
"So much for the Mass Effect trilogy saves importing over now. Does this mean Bioware have scrapped that now, because PS3 people can't get ME1. Mass Effect 2 was mainly marketed for the ability to import Mass Effect 1 saves. Without that what is the point of porting it over to PS3?"NICKjnp wrote...
Yeah... they just tagged on an extra two years for ME3. I hope you are really happy about it.

MGS4? Yes, because that's a third party exclusive. GoW3? No, because that's a first party exclusive.Goodfellow wrote...
*sigh* This decision doesn't make any sense to me. It's like Releasing "Metal Gear Solid 4" or "God of War 3" for the 360.

You know that Bioware will incorporate features that allow people to make more choices regarding the events of ME1 in the PS3 version. You'll be able to choose Ashley/Kaiden and Wrex, as well as choices pertaining to the council.
So for everyone else who got the game at launch...we're stuck with a crappy default beginning, while PS3 owners get to make key choices. This is going to be just one of the ways that the PS3 crowd get over on the rest of us I'm sure. Probably several missions and an extra squad member too. The fact that this game will fit onto one disc also opens up the possibility of being able to recruit all squad mates right after Freedom's Progress, instead of having to split it on two discs.
I get the feeling that a special edition, or GotY edition may accompany the PS3 release. If not then there's a slim chance that the bonus content comes in the form of DLC...which we'll all have to pay for. I'm really hoping that the fans who've been loyal to this series so far don't get shafted because we didn't buy on playstation. It would seriously, and I do mean it, give me pause when considering the purchase of ME3. Before, there was nothing to consider.
Not so sure about this. I mean, that would require new dialogue since in the x360 and pc version it wasn't for instance possible to have samara say things during the recruitment of archangel, simply because that specific order of recruitment wasn't possible. Would be cool if they added some cool mako style exploring levels or bigger exploring in general though. I've always hated the fact that you instantly dropped off in a relatively small level and instantly returned to the normandy. I liked the exploring/walking in ME1. The blu-ray disc should be big enough for this but somewhere I know this is foolish hope.

What if the bonus content in ME2 is ME1?
It would be interesting since they wont be selling Mass Effect 1, they are selling Mass Effect 2 and giving away 1 and a bonus. It might actually be a legal loophole they can explore.
I don't know I just found it an intriguinging thought that no one considered.
As to the console wars. I think some people are taking name loyalty to a whole new lvl.
Two years ago Microsolft had nothing but exclusives, and the PS3 seemed to just be inching towards and early grave. Last year the PS3 finally came into its own with some very nice exclusives that gave it some life back.
And now it seems that everyone is now comfortable with the PS3 software and jumping on the bandwagon, including companies that swore that they would never go to the PS3 like Valve and Lionhead.
It also does not help that in most reviews the PS3 version is generally recommended over the Xbox 360 version due to the PS3s better graphics capabliities.
I think the Xbox 360 owners are just feeling like the PS3 has been getting way too much attention from developers lately and feel a bit betrayed by Bioware and EA that one of their last bastions has opened its gates. I honestly think you Xbox 360 guys are going a little bit xenophobic though. I see no harm in PS3 owners getting a shot at the game.
Because if I remember correctly, we PC owners were not exactly extactic when Bioware started developing for the Xbox as well as PC, and you guys don't hear us complaining, now do you?
Well... not much...

That hasn't been my experience. I've chosen the PS3 version over the 360 a few times based on comparison reviews. Sometimes it's for the graphics, sometimes its for the content. In fact, I find myself skewed towards the PS3 versions now, just based on graphics.

Well I'm going to be honest and say I really don't like this news because I seriously detest Sony, and this will just allow them to get a greater foothold on the market. It's the reason why I buy most of my games on the 360 and not on my PS3.
I'll be disappointed if this gives the PS3 an edge because ever since launch Sony have shown they
don't understand gamers at all and their initial arrogance was and still is detestable to me.

And Xbox 360 is *cough* known *cough* for the maturity of its players both online and the forums. If you did not pick up the sarcasm there.... I've nevre gotten on my PS3 on a multiplayer game and had a 13 year old screaming obscenaties to me and calling me names that technically are not possible, but I've had that happen numerous times on XBox and Xbox 360.
Pot, meet Kettle, it seems you both will have a lot in commone!
