Sure Mass Effect is one of those exclusives that has made me keep my Xbox (along with Halo). I do also own a PS3. It would've been nice to get the whole series on both platforms, but it's not the end of the world. It's great that BioWare are goingto gain more fans. Fans equals sales, sales equal money, money equals more development funds. So what if the PS3 guys get it too? Is it really going to effect current Xbox owners' enjoyment of the game. It's certainly not going to be detrimental to ME3. Maybe get it a little bit later, but I would imagine this has been in development for some time already alongside the 360 and PC versions. It won't be much of a delay.

So much for the Mass Effect trilogy saves importing over now. Does this mean Bioware have scrapped that now, because PS3 people can't get ME1. Mass Effect 2 was mainly marketed for the ability to import Mass Effect 1 saves. Without that what is the point of porting it over to PS3?

or maybe me1 could end up on the playstation network for a small fee

I actually bought the Xbox 360 for Mass Effect.

I dont mind in the slightest ME2 being ported to the PS3. Dragon Age was available on both systems and I didnt notice any impact. I dont mind the PS3 having all the DLC content either, although I would be royally ****** if the PS3 had exclusive DLC. But then, if the PC had exclusive DLC I would be upset too: its only a matter of me wanting to play all the game possible. I hope Bioware clear this one up.

What DOES concern me is whether ME3 ends up being designed different to cater for the fact that ME1 wont be available to PS3 owners. Given how much importance Bioware have given to being able to import save games and make meaningful choices, I really dont want to have the impact reduced for ME3. Its part of what made ME1 and 2 so special.

Can you imagine if your ME1 love interests are cut from ME3 simply to facilitate PS3 owners?!?

and here I was thinking ME3 would have larger things going on with choices I made...its probably going to be worse...Like wtf when PS3 users start are they going to be like "yo, heres the Racni bio, wanna let em live?"

I have no idea how this is gonna work now....

I agree. We 360 owners should get any new content that comes out with the ps3 release. And yes everyone should be able to play this amazing game.

i dont think the 360 or pc versions will be changed my man. if anything me3 on the ps3 may be trimmed down though. i dont know if they can legaly do it but bioware should put me1 up on the psnetwork for a fee that way ps3 gamers can play the first title and save there files.

EA is just being fair...I'm a PC gamer and I would give anything to play games like Uncharted 1 & 2, Enslaved, Heavy Rain, God of War etc. All games should be on all platforms!

Yeah. To my knowledge, ME1 is copyrighted to Microsoft. Meaning it's impossible for PS3 to make ME1...

Therefore, my theory is that this "hours of bonus content" they're advertising will be like a 3-4 hour "pre-ME2 mission" that'll make it possible for the players to make the choices of ME1 they want for ME2. Kinda like a condensed, crappier ME1.

Otherwise, they'll have to create a "canon" for the PS3 players that they can't opt out of. PS3 players with no possibility Wrex would cause riots.

This is terrible news...im not even going to lie

How do you make ME3 for PS3 and Xbox360...When 360 had ME1...PS3 did not....and it is a game that revolved around making decisions and love interests from the first game?

There is no way this is going to turn out good...Christ I almost want them to release ME1 for PS3 too so theres no freaking complications!

It only makes sence that PS3 would get ME2... but the sales boost will not be huge in 2011.

The key fact here is that this means ME3 will come out on PS3 also. Bioware has a 10million sales goal so this option only makes sense.

The reason I am weary of this is not because I am a 360 fanboy (I do own a 360), but because the fact that ME1 is not released for PS3 means that some of the decisions from that game will be left out in ME3 or relegated to obscurity. They could become 360 exclusive content... but I doubt it.

Awesome! Where's ME1 though? How will you import your character to the next game? Decisions? I'm, sure no one will have a clue what's going on story wise.

Is this a silent confirmation that choices from ME 1 wont matter for more than a half a fart?

This "hours of bonus content" better be just recap missions of ME1 or it will be a gigantic middle finger to those who supported this game from the start.

I have both systems, but the 360 is clearly the better system to me and the ME franchise is my favorite right now.  That being said, I can't say this bothers me at all being that it's a year after it came out (and I've already beat it at least 5 times).

The ps3 needs some good games for once, it's almost as bad as the Wii...me and everyone I know who has one rarely ever turns it on.

It's BluRay; more then enough space on 1 disk. They should release both in some "Collection" to that similar of the God of War Collection HD. And include ME1!

This again.

I would be extremely pissed if my decisions and favorite LI's/characters etc all end up as cameos/emails just to prevent issues with a PS3 port.

Anything EA touches goes Multiplatform pretty much it's all about the money, like i said if Microsoft was smart in the beginning they'd purchase Bioware a long time ago.

Is it bundled with Mass Effect 1?

Otherwise I don't see the point. Everyone talked about how the best part was seeing how your file from 1 affected the world in the second.

Either way I will still it get. Pending all DLC and some bonuses are in place.

me1 is published and owned by microsoft. as far as me2 and me3 go im happy the ps3 gets a chance to experiance a great franchise

Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 where both pubbed by MS.  Many other games across vastly different platforms have been jumped too after being pubbed the console company.

And according to many big name sites.  Its EA who owns the Mass Effect IP not MS.
