That's pretty neat. If I hadn't already bought the games for PC, I would be all over this. Although I did consider it for the trophies...

Well then, let's be civilized about it and welcome the PS3 folks in the room. Mass Effect is a great game series that everybody should play.

Without ME1, PS3 owners are getting the screw job.

like i said play station network can be a possibility for me1 for a small fee...

Will you get done with it? Microsoft owns the rights for ME1. They aren't gonna hand them to EA. period.

I am pretty sure that EA has said that they have the rights to it as part of the Bioware deal.

I have a question regarding how moving the series to the PS3 could impact ME3....

Won't the PS3 version be limited since there is no PS3 version of ME1? Certain options will be closed since you can't import a save game.

This really begs the questions, will decisions made in ME1 have an impact on ME3 since the PS3 users won't be able to access that content?

I said this in the announcement topic, but I'll say it again: Bioware should let PS3 owners import a ME1 PC save. The most that would take would be a PC program to convert the saves to a ME2 PS3 data file and a USB drive to copy it over, and then we get all our ME1 choices on our platform of choice. Simple, and in my opinion the best option if we're not going to get full-blown ME1.

That my choices in the first game, especially the love interest, may not get the attention they deserve in the third game is the ONLY worry I have about Mass Effect 2 coming to the PS3.

For example will they really want to create, animate and voice scenes with the Mass Effect 1 love interests in the third game, when only the PC and 360 players would get to see them.

If that "bonus" content is a abbreviated ME1 then they will probably be able to easily accomodate the handful of plot flags that are actually used to any effect in ME2.

that would fix the debate about the whole me1 saves

Unlikely to be ME1 content. It's probably the content the PRC we've seen thus far.

So much for the Mass Effect trilogy saves importing over now. Does this mean Bioware have scrapped that now, because PS3 people can't get ME1. Mass Effect 2 was mainly marketed for the ability to import Mass Effect 1 saves. Without that what is the point of porting it over to PS3?

or maybe me1 could end up on the playstation network for a small fee

Microsoft own ME1 i imagine

BioWare/EA owns Mass Effect. Microsoft published the 360 version of the first game but not the PC version..

My problem isn't that ME2 is coming to PS3, it's that with this ME3 will be pushed to late 2012 or 2013

What did you expect it in 2011?!

I think they once said they're aiming for a 2011 release or maybe early 2012. They said a few hours ago that the PS3 version of ME2 won't delay the ME3 release. I guess a different company is doing the PS3 port just like Demiurge made Mass Effect PC.

Hopefully it'll be ported by a third party to allow BioWare to focus their full attention on ME3. If it is, then they'd better make sure it's not as ****ty as the Mass Effect 1 PC port.

I am all for this. That more gets to experience ME. But if they get dlc, the pc/xbox 360 should get it as well.  And if they get dlc that have been released before, they shiuld pay for it, as the pc/xbox 360 players did.

Mini-game aside, I thought Demiurge did a great job on the Mass Effect PC port. I think they did a better job than Bioware have done with the second game.

Not just this, but it appears some people on these boards also forget that there are people who own more than a PC and/or a 360...

And if those crying in sweet salty whiner tears didn't have a problem with those who already had a PS3 and were "forced" to buy the game for another platform, why would they suddenly begin having it now?
Well, apart from their inflamatory and pompous posture against us.

Trust me on this, most people won't know a single thing of whats happening in the game. You do need Mass Effect 1 in order to understand it, or else it just takes out from the fun.

Because they may not have Mass Effect 1 (hopefully they will.)

So if they don't get the first game will choices made in it have a satisfying conclusion in the third?

I know I would feel a little cheated if the love interest I remained loyal to was just a peck on the cheek or an email again.

Possibly. They might just do with a "The story so far" movie and allow the PS3 players to choose their options. If I were a PS3 player, though, I would find that pretty jarring. It would be more economically feasible though.

Regardless, I seriously doubt ME1 will be abandoned. If they were going to do that, they would have done it by now.
