Well then, let's be civilized about it and welcome the PS3 folks in the room. Mass Effect is a great game series that everybody should play.

Not just this, but it appears some people on these boards also forget that there are people who own more than a PC and/or a 360...

And if those crying in sweet salty whiner tears didn't have a problem with those who already had a PS3 and were "forced" to buy the game for another platform, why would they suddenly begin having it now?
Well, apart from their inflamatory and pompous posture against us.

Honestly, I feel a little cheated out by letting Mass Effect come to the PS3. I'm no fanboy of any console, yet I do think that PS3 fans are usually jerks. They get a ton of exclusive games which they always brag about and this is one of the games that we can say they don't have. I wouldn't be so jealous if there wasn't so many PS3 fanboys being so annoying. I just hope they don't raid the forums saying the PS3 version of the game is SOO much better than the Xbox version. (I do own the xbox, but once again not a fanboy). If they can take the game without being pains in the butt about it then I will gladly welcome them to the Mass Effect community.

Trouble is you see it like that -because you own an XBox- others that own a PS3 will see it the other way around.

While we should be happy that Mass Effect didn't come solely to the PS3, (which doesn't really matter to me now as I own all three consoles) it still hurts that at the end of the day artistic integrity means nothing. EA simply wants to maximize revenue, as any business should in a capitalist state.

I did not say all PS3 owners are that way, If they can play games just because they want to play the games thats totally fine, If they brag that there console is better then thats annoying. I feel the same way with Xbox360 fanboys. The only reason I got an Xbox is because it was cheaper, and I like the controller better (side note: is it just me or is the PS3 controller really confusing, with all those shapes and stuff...I don't know It's just weird to me). You have to admit though, there is alot of console fanboys out there. Why can't we all just get along  and play games for the sake of playing video games?

So any word on the bonus content they were hyping up. It better cost as much as we had to spend on points and better be coming to xbox. I was already leary on bioware after ea because ea ruins everything, hopefully my favorite developer doesnt screw everyone

Listen, I hear you... But the PS3 folks are still getting the game with a one year delay over the PC and X360 versions. Besides, it's a chance for ME2 to become GOTY 2011 (for the PS3)!!! :)))
Seriously, I don't expect this move to have any influence over ME3 other than a slight delay on the final release date. Because concerning ME3, if things make any sense, they probably had the game outlined when they finished ME2. And I'm sure Bioware will find a way for PS3 players to get properly introduced with the storyline, and maybe even letting them make some customization choices with the ME1 plot. (Which, personaly, as a X360 gamer, bothers me in a childish way, 'cause I secretly wish the PS3 doesn't get a Wrex option... but that's me being silly).
Mostly, I think it's an understandable move for BioWare, and why shouldn't they capitalize on a good product? There's no harm done for those who played it already. And players only have to gain with BioWare getting stronger sales, IMO.
As for those debates on the PS3 versus X360 and which is better... those are getting as silly as it gets... I think it was IGN or G4 that recenly pulled a Mafia 2 graphics comparison on both consoles, and the thing was ridiculous... I mean, console versions are usually very very similar, and the PC still wins all the time. I do love my X360, it's comfortable and has been reliable so far... but we shouldn't allow our personal empathies get in the way of lucidity.

I think there are a lot of assumptions in this thread, I encourage you all to stay tuned as more details of the PS3 release are given. I am personally very happy that ps3 owners who were not able to play mass effect will now be able to. As a developer, anything that gets a game I made to more players is good news.

All we're curious about is whether or not this will make ME1 less significant.

Well speaking as a PS3 owner who already owns the PC versions of these games, I just want to say thank you the developers and publishers for porting ME2 to my console of choice. It is appreciated, and I can only hope that ME1 will one day be ported as well.

Looking forward to replaying ME2 on the PS3!

Any chance we'll see ME Galaxy released as a Mini? :D

To be fair I think most people are just worried about what 'bonus content' might mean. I'm glad to see the ME franchise spread to more players as well personally, I'll be recommending it to a few extra friends because of this. However that initial statement is rather vague considering the stir everyone must have known this would cause.

In other news: I don't see how people can suggest Bioware would discard ME1, their team worked hard on that game as well as 2 and no doubt are very proud of it, I'm sure they will work around the PS3 ME1 problem without having to cut out the choices across the board.

Not bloody likely!!

Mass Effect 1, first published by Microsoft in 2007, will remain exclusive to Xbox 360.

"And the original Mass Effect is absolutely an Xbox 360 exclusive, making Xbox 360 the only place to get the full Mass Effect experience," the company added.

I know, right? As far as Micro$oft is concerned, PC is a only a tool to make XBox 360 games.

as a xbox360 owner i find ms to be really crappy when it comes to ownership rights and all. look at the latest statement they released its like hey we are better than you like if its some highschool bs. as far as exclusive content go's im betting theyll get a 3 disk package 2 disk game but the 3rd being some form of dlc add on or something. other than that gamers should be hapy that mass effect is getting introduce to a bigger gamer audiance

Probably because the game first came out on Xbox 360 (November of 2007) and then ported to PC later (May of 2008).   To me that says Microsoft as the original publisher has the final say on ME1.

I'm flabbergasted at the maturity of your post, flabbergasted.
