in the trailer we see hawke as a muscular warrior and as a skilled mage, does this mean we can customize our character to become a crossbreed of the two? (on a sidenote, i'd be really happy if this was so because i always wanted to make my warrior throw fireballs as well :P)

Apologies if anyone posted this already (I tried catching up first but you guys are posting faster than I can read), but the frame of Flemeth with the females may indeed be Morrigan. Remember where Morrigan came from - a figure (or trio of figures, or a woman who can become three, depending on who's telling it) of females who were said to be able to appear on a battlefield (Arthurian legend) and turn the tide of war.

Also, Awesome Flying Qunari Beard Fluff (QFQBF) when Hawke (have to keep reminding myself not to write "warden") sliced at him and he limboed under it!

The trailer was very, very cool. I wish we'd seen gameplay but I wasn't really expecting to. Still, I enjoyed it a lot.

What I meant is that it's just a word, there's no reason to be up in arms about it.  Yes, people are mad about no black characters, but they're not making a big fuss about it in the main thread instead of talking about more important things like the actual content and reveals of the trailer.  I don't see why English has to be any different than any other language in that "men" can be neutral.  And yes, I'm a girl.  No, I don't see the big deal.  Don't let the little things ruin something for you.

Okay, let's talk about the content of the trailer:

- Generic White Man fights qunari, who are a race of Dark Skinned almost-humans. There is a generic fight, and we get to see a flashback to some Hot Chick. Then the Generic White Man uses an overkill spell to kill the Dark Skinned Humanoid. Meanwhile, an old woman narrates about the Destiny of a Man.

I found the trailer to be bland; quite honestly, it tells me nothing about the story and only highlights EA/Bioware's lack of creativity in marketing. I came here in hopes that somebody in bioware would at least take note that being gender neutral would actually help their sales, not drive them down. I did not at one point suggest that they should have used a female Hawke, because I know it would never happen in a million years.

I will still, most likely, end up buying DA2, because I know that you can play as a female Hawke. I've seen many women tell me that they originally stayed away from both DAO and Mass Effect because they thought they were more of the same generic manly man stuff. This trailer will do nothing to convince people that the game is unique in some way.

Man, Hawke is such a badass! But he's not all He-Man about it; that's what I like.

I cannot wait to see who that pirate lady is. The mere fact that she pulls a sword on Hawke means she's probably my kind of LI.:)

Rofl, stop crying about gameplay, they said they would release the trailer today, not gameplay videos. Still those will prob. be uploaded this week from gamescom. Still half year for the game to be released dont be so hasty.

Though I'm sure the game will be great, I'm not a fan of the new artistic style. The armor and weapons in the original DA are more realistic to me, which was something I liked. It helped with my immersion. I get tired of seeing armor with giant pointy bits and crazy looking weapons that would be a nightmare to wield. I'm not saying the trailer was bad. It was a good fight. I just feel like we are going off into the realm of ridiculousness.

And for some reason that trailer reminded me of Prince of Persia.

Should be a new one... remember the ending?... and Gaider (or another dev) mentioned that the DLC will play a role in DA2.

Did you look closer at all of the fast frame action when Hawke is thinking just before the end?  There is a hell of a lot more content in there than just white guy fighting horned dude.

Well thats the first time Ive seen a seemingly hero to the rescue tear a guy in half with extra deminsional metal arms...
Based on this..and what I know so far.

I. Want. This. Game.

And to the different debates...the "men" debate...for gods sake dont take it personal, the lead protagonist for almost all fantasy/epics is male. And "men" in most fantasy games....and in real life, can also refer to Humans. Though "Those" sounds better, not for any other real purpose, other than "those" just sounds better.

As to the armor---look up to the right, and then to the left...you will see two people, one alien, one human. Both are wearing things that shouldnt be worn in open combat, so this isnt new to a bioware game...same thing with the skimpy looking light leather armor in DOA). Now I admit that Hawkes armor shouldnt be missing an arm...but there may be a reason for it. (such as he picks it up of a dead guy early on, and its missing ****).

If it did look like a jrpg outfit by the way....he would just be wearing a pauldron, gauntlet, and a pair of shorts. This just looks like ****ty foresight on a fighters part.

guys I don't know if it has already been mentioned but while watching the trailer I saw something that made me think that there may be some kind of connection between hawke and the hero of ferelden (u knolw the protagonist of origins).... listen while watching the trailer u see that hawke has some recollection of memories of his past and in some point of his recollection we see him closing a gate although only his hands are shown... at that part if u pause the video u will that the room in which that gates leads is the exact same room that the grey warden went in to fight darkspawn in the warden's calling trailer of origins... I do not know if it is cannon but I hope it is...

ok, the flashbacks, just from seeing the first few, are probably based on the journey. First he's kissing a lady, then his home is burning (Lothering I'm guessing), then he arrives at Kirkwall, and so on and so forth. Really bad a*s trailer if you ask me. Yes it doesn't specify why you this fight ensues, but I think it was made just to show what the radical new fighting will be like, very fast as Bioware said.

P.S. Hawke is a real hard-a*s if he is on par with that qunari in a fight. Now MArch can't come sooner

Three seconds of a hot chick posing around don't tell me anything about the story, no.

Is it possible that Isabella( if it is her), has helped Hawke to flee from Ferelden by her shipt? That mean Hawke has travelled from Lothering to Denerim to meet Isabella.
