Good thing attractiveness is based off your standards.

It was more a joke, but i'm glad you felt offended enough to respond.

Jokes tend to be funny.

but but but isn't funny subjective, much like attractiveness?

Get bent.

Considering you can bat darkspawn torso's away and leave just feet on the ground, i'm preeeeetty confident yoyu can in fact use the hellgate arm rip (also the fact Hawke performs a few moves in the trailer that was shown from in game pictures)

Also Dave of Canada, don't feed the very obvious trolls, i know your canadian and thus not that bright, but c'mon :P

Some people were saying (I'm not going to search for the quotes, it's too far back and I'm lazy) that they thought Hawke had Flemeth inside him, and that's how he's able to use a sword and magic at the same time.

I'm thinking it's that claw-like glove that he's wearing... He's wearing one, and in the concept art showing Flemeth, she's wearing one, too. Maybe it allows him to borrow her magic. Or maybe it's a very powerful relic that he gains early on in the game.

Hopefully not too early. Or rather hopefully we can't make a rift and rip a Qunari apart until later on.

Could be an arcane warrior artifact or something like that? :bandit: lol now my inner nerd is in my head running the hammster wheel, Im going a mile a second after that trailer lol  :P  So awesome, so many possibilites.

Look, I get it. You want to show how BADASS your game is, and even a hint of a female Hawke would ruin that because we know that women can't ever be awesome. But given that it IS possible to play as a female Hawke, I find it just a TINY BIT offputting that the trailer uses language that implies Hawke must be a man's man and could never be a girl ever.

Seriously, it's not that hard to say "people" instead of "men."

I need to avoid all trailers because they are more likely to drive me away from DA2 than get me hyped up for it.

ROFL.

Do you know what HUMANS are called in LOTRO for example ?!? The Race of MEN.  The Term MEN is a short form of Mankind , which points out to both males and females.
So give it a rest already.

In terms of a cinematic trailer, it was very nice.

In terms of adding in any type of information we may not know, none.

First time in awhile where I saw a trailer where I was happy and disappointed at the same time.

Trailer was smooth, good fight sequence, showed magic....but showed everything we already knew.... I would have been alot happier if we got a tease of who will be in the party. Who will be the archer, the 2-hander, the healer? We saw ALL of that in the Sacred Ashes trailer, but nothing of the same quality in this one.... Maybe that is why I was disappointed.

But the battle between the Templars and (maybe) blood mages intresting?
Or the mysterious monsters and statues intresting too?
I think alot of people need to watch the trailer again.

It doesn't answer questions because it's not supposed to :P

The trailer was enjoyable, although I'd rather see in game footage than pre-rendered stuff. Seeing the new Qunari in motion didn't make them any less silly looking.

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at. Yes, it's possible to inform yourself about a game. It's also possible that somebody sees that trailer and decides that they don't want to bother informing themselves, because the trailer didn't interest them. First and foremost, it's the company's responsibility to inform potential customers about their product in such a way that would be enticing to these potential customers.

And quite honestly? If Dragon Age and Mass Effect didn't let me choose the gender, I would not be playing them. My friend tried to get me into Alpha Protocol, but because you could only play as a guy, I lost interest. I can tolerate the main character being male in JRPGs because there's no actual roleplaying going on, but when I'm making the choices and deciding who to romance, I'd rather play as a woman. I might be missing out on a decent game, but that's my own personal decision.

What I'm getting at is yes, inform yourself. That was pretty apparent from what I said. That's for everything. I'm not going to go around and campaign for every game company to show that you can play as male or female. The information is out there, if you don't want to look for it, fine and your prerogative. I tend to not limit myself by playing as a woman or man. Now I will limit myself based on genre. I personally have never looked at a trailer and said, "Oh. There's no women. Well I'm just not going to play it." I make sure that I check out every game I buy for characters, story, battle system and potential play time. It's what I do. I tend to like to digest information instead of basing the decision on a trailer alone.

At first, I thought Flemeth's voice was a Salarian (Galaxy of Fantasy???). Ooops. But, anyway, good trailer, if a little lacking for context. If we get to do some sailing with Isabella, I will be beyond pumped.

Since we are in Kirkwall for a lot of DA2, we will probably find that glove (if it is in fact the source of the hell rip power) in a Tevinter tomb or something. Kirkwall used to be Tevinter btw

Ugg I hope not.  I hate it when your hero is dependent on equipment for their power.  It should augment only.  It is hte skill, will, strength, etc. of your hero that is important - not their magic sword or dragon skin armor.

On track - I loved the trailer even though it was blatant male marketing hype.  Cliche or not loved the glowing eyes, themystical dragon claws out of thin air ... not to mention that ever so sexy beard!

We are very proud today to launch the new Dragon Age 2 website including the debut of our Dragon Age 2 cinematic trailer: Destiny!

Sigh...   Is this one going to be another bad-engine game?   Because I'm tired of feeling like I'm gaming in an elaborate Habitrail because my character is completely incapable of walking from point A to point B because you put a twig or a row of matchboxes on the floor and we cannot "jump" or "climb" or even "step over" such trivial objects.    It just kills immersion when I *know* in real life I could easily, as a 50-year-old-man whose days as an athlete are over, walk where my uber-riffic, totally buffed-and-pimped character cannot...

Honestly, it's just shabby programing and shabby level design.  If you can't get people to go where they need to go because they're following the story...   There's something wrong with your story...

If thats what bothers you, they could easily change those objects to something you actually can't jump or climb. Problem fixed without changing the engine.

Website looks good, nice and easy to navigate! Good job!

Trailer, I been watching ALOT of trailers recently to find new RPG goodness out there since being overwelmingly disappointed with DA2 announcements and welp, the trailer isnt anything special or awe inspireing to be honest and its lack of detail on any aspect other then fighting makes me all the more worried about game!

People that already like this game will rant and rave about Trailer like its the greatest thing since sliced bread, but you could literally give them stick figure trailer and their reaction would be the same. Those not sold on game not going to be won over with trailer.

As Ive said before ill say again, in a RPG combat is used to prop up the story! In ME2 and seems DA2, story is being used to prop up the combat!

Action games are a dime a dozen and maybe ill try this one when it hits the bargin bin cause im looking for story first, immersion 2nd, action 3rd

Bioware use to understand this

Is that an army of Morrigans? Guess she did find her sisters after all :)

Were you guys paying attention at all to the game?  Flemeth raised daughters so she could posess their bodies when hers got too old.  She never raised any kind of army, let alone an army of daughters.  Not her style.  It seems likely that she probably only ever raised one daughter at a time, maybe with the odd spare one for redundancy at times of increased risk to life.  Morrigan never knew any other of flemeth's daughters because flemeth only needed one to take over.

Good trailer. Liked it lots. Especially the scenery and backgrounds looked very nice. Hawke looked like a character from Soul Calibur though, complete with an oversized weapon. Not sure what to think about the Quana`ri though. Maybe the horns will....grow on me .)

Yeah, but LotR was written by an RC Professor of Old English. Just because something is so in LotR doesn't mean it has to be so in DA. For example, the kind of informal modern-sounding language used in DAO , particularly by Alistair and Anders, would not have been allowed into LotR.
