Website looks good, nice and easy to navigate! Good job!

Trailer, I been watching ALOT of trailers recently to find new RPG goodness out there since being overwelmingly disappointed with DA2 announcements and welp, the trailer isnt anything special or awe inspireing to be honest and its lack of detail on any aspect other then fighting makes me all the more worried about game!

People that already like this game will rant and rave about Trailer like its the greatest thing since sliced bread, but you could literally give them stick figure trailer and their reaction would be the same. Those not sold on game not going to be won over with trailer.

As Ive said before ill say again, in a RPG combat is used to prop up the story! In ME2 and seems DA2, story is being used to prop up the combat!

Action games are a dime a dozen and maybe ill try this one when it hits the bargin bin cause im looking for story first, immersion 2nd, action 3rd

Bioware use to understand this

The trailer has a lot more than just that fight, it's just... packed into a really fast montage sequence. :P

And they have said the combat will be like DAO if that is worth anything to you, there is no reason to presume there will be less emphasis on story this time around. Did you not see the Sacred Ashes trailer? That had even less focus on story.

Look, I get it. You want to show how BADASS your game is, and even a hint of a female Hawke would ruin that because we know that women can't ever be awesome. But given that it IS possible to play as a female Hawke, I find it just a TINY BIT offputting that the trailer uses language that implies Hawke must be a man's man and could never be a girl ever.

Seriously, it's not that hard to say "people" instead of "men."

I need to avoid all trailers because they are more likely to drive me away from DA2 than get me hyped up for it.

ROFL.

Do you know what HUMANS are called in LOTRO for example ?!? The Race of MEN.  The Term MEN is a short form of Mankind , which points out to both males and females.
So give it a rest already.

Yeah, but LotR was written by an RC Professor of Old English. Just because something is so in LotR doesn't mean it has to be so in DA. For example, the kind of informal modern-sounding language used in DAO , particularly by Alistair and Anders, would not have been allowed into LotR.

That doesn`t change the fact that Humans are called Man/Men in real life too. Its what most scientists refer to the human species as.

WOW .... the trailers been out what ...... today? <_<  Whatever works for you dude, but seriously, I dont see BioWare running into this game blind :?. Im sure the combat is gonna be amazing, but I doubt there gonna ME2 it up that much. Yes the convo wheel is there, we all know that :bandit:, but DA and ME are two seperate intities (I LOVE them both by the way ), I realy think BioWare has us covered with this game :wizard:. Still, not to sound preachy, what ever works for you dude

Yeah that 'default to male' is an annoying habit of, well... everything in life, not just video games. I assume they meant it in a 'universal human' sense, rather than a specifically male sense - not that it makes it any better, indeed the fact that 'men' can be used to refer to everyone is a rather sorry state of our culture, but its one for the moment we have to live with until we can get to a point to change it. They use 'men' in that sense in DAO a few times as well.

I too feel that this was an unneccessarily gender specific narrration.  "Those" would have been just as effective and far less contentious.  I noticed that a Bioware dev also almost stumbled into claiming Hawke was a he and barely managed to save with a belated "or she" in an interview.  Come on, Bioware, where's your wonderful sence of equality?  From pushing the boundaries with lesbian and gay relationships to this almost chauvenistic atitude is slightly unsettling.

Edit: "Men", if taken to assume humanity, then excludes elves, dwarves and Qunari.  Sure, the protagonist is a human, but what about the companions, or other notable Thedasians?  :P

But you see, no one forced Bioware to pick the word to use for their marketing . And I thought scientists referred to humans as ****** sapiens, or maybe I missed a memo somewhere. :P

Damn right. Poet Tree power! Why is my species always overlooked?

Jesus, isnt this suppose to be about the trailer and such ?? Whats going on? Is it that big a deal if everything is a 100% PC or not? You cant please everyone, to try is dumb, just let it go :P. Enjoy the fantasy setting, enjoy the game. If you cant then go away, its not hard. B)

When something comes on Tv that you dont like, dont watch it. Same here, but I guess if this is what makes people happy, then go hold hands, fight the power and go to a Lilith Fair or something. Just go away. :innocent:

lol I think thats the most Troll feeding Ive done since I was a kid, now Im just as guilty as avoiding the topic as everyone else :bandit:. *sigh* Time to go play Dragon Age. :wizard:

in the ign article it says that flemeth tasks hawke with carrying a package, maybe inside is a part of her own power?

As this new article contains spoil, I (and i suppose I'm not lonely) don't want to read it.

So, please avoid any references to this article.

Thanks.

There's only one reason they show male Hawke. Female Hawke is in the kitchen cooking for male Hawke.

Good thing attractiveness is based off your standards.

It was more a joke, but i'm glad you felt offended enough to respond.

Jokes tend to be funny.

but but but isn't funny subjective, much like attractiveness?

Get bent.

Your wit continues to astound.

At any point in Dragon Age: Origins, did the PC's eye's flare up as they did in the DAO trailer (where the Grey Warden is in the Deep roads)? This trailer is probably as representative...

Oh hey THERE'S where Flemeth's other daughters went.

Perhaps Bene Gesserit escapees from the Dune novels.

I zoomed up pretty damn close in Photoshop, most of them look like women and strangely they have the sort of clothes Morrigan wears. Could very well be Flemmeth's Daughters.

EDIT: Adding zoomy image. Definately the same sort of atire.

In addition, the men that these witches are fighting have some sort of cross on them - probably the Chantry.

In terms of a cinematic trailer, it was very nice.

In terms of adding in any type of information we may not know, none.

First time in awhile where I saw a trailer where I was happy and disappointed at the same time.

Trailer was smooth, good fight sequence, showed magic....but showed everything we already knew.... I would have been alot happier if we got a tease of who will be in the party. Who will be the archer, the 2-hander, the healer? We saw ALL of that in the Sacred Ashes trailer, but nothing of the same quality in this one.... Maybe that is why I was disappointed.

within the coming weeks we will get those 1-2 minute trailers of individual party members, like in awakeing with Mhairi, Anders, and Velanna

OOOOHHHHHH....okay.   Than the trailer was nothing more than a tease than.   Like getting a lapdance from a fully clothed woman.....damn tease.

That was.. a pretty badass trailer. Liked it much better than the SA one, as far as cinematic trailers go. Was that Blur again?

Sorry Bioware, but that was not a good trailer. The best thing about it was the narration. That's not a good thing. hopefully the next trailer will be better and will actually show some gameplay. This is a trailer for a game after all. Very disappointed overall with this trailer. Not the worst you've done, but certainly not good either.

I liked the trailer, but Hawke's dishonorable victory is shameful...
