I have quite a crush on the Qunari now (well, even more so than you get from hanging around Sten in-game, that is)

Interpreting the Trailer:
So we see a bald man wearing a crown and his knights fighting and dying to the Qunari. Then Hawke steps up to fight him, but almost loses until he draws on some powers he refused to use before but rather than dying in insignificance he 'embraces' the gift and becomes the ... Champion of Kirkwall?
I think in the trailer we see why he is called the Champion of Kirkwall. The former ruler was defeated by the Qunari, and Hawke, by defeating the Qunari leader steps up to become the next ruler of Kirkwall.
That would be one rather short game.
Well it would only be the beginning ofc.

Shiny trailer, but I'm part of the community who prefers seeing gameplay vids. I found myself squeeing more at the snips of game screens at the background while Laidlaw was speaking.
Yeah, I was happier seeing the shot of Flemeth and Varric as in game models behind Laidlaw and Hawke and Bethany in different armor than the actual trailer
...
Where did you see this?

Those who want an "awesome bad ass" who is the "new sh**"
/sigh
Still looks good, I just wish we weren't making games for Lebron James/Green Day fans

So I guess that DA2 is being crafted for people like me, long time fans of BioWare games.

I just want to know what we'll be able to do as far as weapon stylings, and armors...
--Not that I think that [Steve] Hawke's looks bad--not at all.
What is combat going to be like?
Can I ride a horse?
How will dialogue be handled?
Is Artemis Entreri, Elminster or Jarlaxle an unlockable character?
Are #21 and #24 going to make henchmen cameo's?
All of these important questions... no one to answer them.

Also, I think I saw in an interview or preview somewhere? that we now can intercept our enemies before they reach our mage...
As for the trailer, yes, it is very well done. And I don't seem to be able to see half the images you do?
I noticed the triangular shaped statues? though, seemed egyption to me... As for the sword/glaive? I thought it was a spear of some sorts?
When Hawke (he or she) got wounded it looked like he pressed his wounds (tattoos?) and this sparked memories fromt her or his past, which helped him find his inner fire - so to speak - to be directed at the Quanari with the very big horns. And yes, it actually surprised me that that horns of the Quanari apparently are that big. Reminded of the horns of Texas Long Horn Cattle - just much bigger of course... I also wondered who it was that lost the crown in the beginning and who the pirate girl was later in the trailer.
I'm still sort of on the fence on this game, but I'm still in a 'let's way an see mode.'

The fact that the terms "bad ass" and "awesome" have been used 50+ times in this thread illustrate the audience DA2 is being crafted for.

It is VERY easy to jump to conclusions. People, like me are excited and are using the most dopiest language we can use to express ourselves. If you think because people use that kind of language are COD fans or 10 year olds, you are being very ignorant and unfair.

The pictures of Flemeth and Varric? They were on the screen behind Mike Laidlaw as he was talking in the conference.

if he ran when the blight was on how did he become such an epick fighter? mage + tank? epic
Same as the Warden. He was overrun with Darkspawn, then Flemeth shows up and saves him. But he has to promise to deliver something to Kirkwall for her in return. Seems like Flemeth is having fun pulling the strings in the Dragon Age

DAM..that trailer is badass. i dont know how anyone couldnt like it. i got goosebumps when hawke with his glowing eyes walked towards the screen with a blood dragon behind him. bravo bioware, bravo on an epic trailer for an epic game.
Honestly I was planning on trying female Hawke on my first play through, but now I just want to play the one from the Trailer.

I too feel that this was an unneccessarily gender specific narrration. "Those" would have been just as effective and far less contentious. I noticed that a Bioware dev also almost stumbled into claiming Hawke was a he and barely managed to save with a belated "or she" in an interview. Come on, Bioware, where's your wonderful sence of equality? From pushing the boundaries with lesbian and gay relationships to this almost chauvenistic atitude is slightly unsettling.
Edit: "Men", if taken to assume humanity, then excludes elves, dwarves and Qunari. Sure, the protagonist is a human, but what about the companions, or other notable Thedasians?
Actually Mike Laidlaw stated in the live streaming today that Hawke was a "he" when describing the game and trailer.
Sadly it is a fact of life when speaking about people as a default. Eh, I got over it. I do it and I'm female.
