Did you watch the whole thing? There were multiple dragons in the flashes.

They got those bases covered at least, although personally I hate dragons, dunno why, I just find them so damn boreing.

there's this glass ball thing on the end of Hawke's hilt. Looks like there's fire inside of it? Maybe it's an enchantment? Sandal's work maybe?

Anyway, maybe it's the reason why people might be thinking that Hawke may have some mage powers. Perhaps you can do more with the enchantments on your weapons? That would be a really cool add!!

The bleeding nose drama reminds me Battle Angel Alita...

The qunari looks more barbaric than I thought they would, little reminiscence to/of samurai...but it doesnt bother me.

Hawke's weapon is not a spear, its like a naginata or nagamaki. I wonder what was inspiration for his weapon?




Will we be given this teleporting magnifying glass spell? So you put a part of you into another dimension and it comes out in another place of your choosing (target) larger, bigger, scarier...now think of the possibilities.

About his armour covering his arm, it's like in Clive Barkers Jericho I think...some dragon power thats confined by the armour.
Is this scarrification a switch to turn on the demon-dragon powers?

Most of all, will any of this stuff be accually possible to pull off/available ingame?
The CGI is fantastic on its own, realy catchy music there and amazing concepts. I'd buy the CGI with better story and plot, no doubt about that

I remember reading somewhere that mages would get "Finishing Moves" this time around, everyone remembers the death blows right? That would explain the "Demon Arm" move he did which was basically his arms through a portal and made bigger...I think it would be a great finisher move for a mage don't you all think?

Nope, I'm not going to buy it the minute it hits the shelves. I plan to rent it first and then we'll see if I buy it afterward or not.

Well...the trailers holds big secrets

1) the qunari is an assassin of Kings (he killed a king as you see from the falling crown) fled from the witcher 2

2) Hawk is skinny. He is slim even with his armour on

Ugh, I get weak knees so easily because of trailers like this--even if deceptive. I got ridiculously hyped after first watch, mouth agape and all. Though, after watching it the 3rd (and final) time, the magic somewhat dissipated. Perhaps it is a sign; admittedly, I think Hawke's face didn't seem nearly as expressive as I hoped it to be. Sure, he has a charming face, but it didn't seem to do more than smirk, show bewilderment--that boyish, "this is a freaking awesome battle!" face--, and, you know, glow red in the eyes. Oh, and the fighting destiny plot hook and flashback were kind of boring.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Hawke was some sort of messiah sent by the Maker? Could explain his unprecedented powers Can't wait to see more.

Why mess with something that works? Why change the style from a dark fantasy RPG to something so blatently manga/anima? Whoever greenlit that horrible DA2 trailer should have taken a step back and looked at what Dragon Age really is.

I'm reserving all judgement on DA2 until I play it .. trailers are a bit like TV ads .. the ad might look crap/cool but you never really know its value until you've tried it

I'm fine with the art change. It reminds me much more of the first trailer than some anime--not saying I did not see any similar styles: at first look, I got excited, thinking Hawke was asian. Other looks, he was only ambiguously so. And the devs are really the ones who define what DA is--the fans can decide what to do with it after.

Also also, this is the cinematic trailer, so we can bide our nerd rage until the gameplay ones release. That's my plan.

Er, sorry but... Is it a great looking trailer? Yes. Is it a great trailer? Not really.

Take a look at the Mass Effect 2 E3 trailer. It was launched 8 months before game release, which is somewhat similar to the distance between this trailer and the release of DA2. It was full in-game graphics. It presented a bit of the opening storyline, it showed some locations, enemies, and a bit of combat. Most of all, it was a narrative trailer, not just eye-candy.

Now look at this DA2 trailer. You've learned nothing about its story, places, characters. In fact, you know exactly the same today as you did two days ago. So, this trailer really had one purpose. Sell Hawke as a real cool character. He has that potential. But I rather learn a bit more about him than just take it from how cool he looks. And if that's the case, I'd rather have a fem-Hawke based trailer instead.
