Sorta, but the balde isn't curved.
I think it looks like a mage staff was fused with a Qunari's Sword. With the business end of the Staff taking the place of the swords hilt.

This Destiny trailer makes this game look sexy as hell. If only these sort of graphics were used in SWTOR!

The Dragon Age 2 trailer was one of the best DA trailers I ever have seen! All the effect har made really detailed! Can't wait to play it

Great graphics...but for all the detail they put into the flashback scenes and monsters, you'd expect them to at least provide a little more than a split second view.



I think the camera work was really too chaotic. Plus the fade-to-black transition was overused between shots and the slowmo effect may have been overused once or twice. It still looked nice, but I prefer the ending cinematic of The Witcher, in which Geralt faces the assassin by far - which I consider one of the better, if not the best, CGI sword battles.

After watching the trailer and knowing Hawke can be a female player char
I'd love to be there when surviving q'nari stragglers explain to their superiors
who exactly has kicked their champion offf the game board when our Haxke
is a woman...

I don't get why people call Hawk a badass, what's so good about him? He couldn't beat one qunari without using his super powers.

hmmm...CGI are just that - eye candy, an appetizer. What the heck do you expect? The whole narative with plot elements?

Some of you act as you want and wish the game been spoiled already. For me the cinematic is more than enough - it builds the tension. I for one vote for other which will have nothing in common with the actual plot and events from the game. Or vague at best.

I HATE spoilers, thats why I wont be watching most of the "pods" interviews, diaries and other Yogi Bear crap statues they'll squeeze of their spoileristic marketing black hole.



I prefer to enjoy the game and uncover new things with the games progress...and not to know about them predicting when and what will happen...and knowing who is who...geez...

It was most likely a boss battle - so I miss your point.
Boss battles usually require each and every trick in the player char's sleeves.

Really great trailer. Sure it showed jack-squat about the actual game, but it was pretty spectacular. I don't think the RAWR FORBIDDEN TECHNIQUE MAGIC BADASS HANDS OF DEATH is going to be featured in the actual game (nor is the melee-mage hybrid), but it'd be cool if Hawke had some kind of special ability that sets him apart from others, as long as it's not cheap or cheesy.

I don't know if this has already been said. But in the trailer during those shots of what I presume is from Hawkes ten years of fighting and all that, did you also notice the Harverster from the dlc Golems of Amgarrak

But that made me so happy cause the cliffhanger ending of that dlc made me want some way to continue fighting those creepy things and I am so thrilled that they will have a part in the sequel.



And also, I don't know if it is just me. But that big dragon, doesn't it look a little bit like a griffin?

I know that it is now a griffin, but it kinda looks like it.

Especially during that quick shot of when it opens its mouth.

May not have anything to do with griffins, or wardens but still..

Great trailer but is Hawke some crazy warrior with magical Flemeth powers? Or is he some really amazing mage with some sword skills? Or is this just Bioware?

I think I am gonna go out and say it but what the hell is this game about? I know we become the Champion of Kirkwall regardless of what we do but other than that what else are we doing? What is going on?

Why cant Bioware release gameplay footage? We already know what happenes in the demo so that cant be the reason, I also take it we become Champion of Kirkwall at the end of the game because that is what Bioware keeps promoting and the rest of the story takes place around another 2 games after she figures out where Hawke is.

That dragon is flemeth, morrigan's mother. DA2 takes place some time after the blight, but hawke's rise to power is told in a flashback over 10 years(during the blight) to where he is presently.
