I don't get why people call Hawk a badass, what's so good about him? He couldn't beat one qunari without using his super powers.

It was most likely a boss battle - so I miss your point.
Boss battles usually require each and every trick in the player char's sleeves.

I don't know, I kind of agree with Crimson, Hawke looked fairly weak till he started using magic. I'm no He-Man but I had the feeling after watching the trailer that I could beat Hawke in a melee, it's clearly not his strength. Posted Image Summoning giant claws to save his skin seems to be his thing.

I also agree with another poster that the shaky-hand-camera style took away from the fight scene, though that was likely a good thing. There could of been better reference to realistic fighting styles and less Hollywood posturing and posing...less Mortal Kombat. Overall it's still alot better than the Sacred Ashes trailer! Is anyone else underwhelmed by the video with Hawke? The fight was 'nice', but not all that exciting (to me at least).

Sigh. I just took another look at the DAO trailer. It is way more brutal and believable than DA2's (faces had scars, wrinkles, and angles). Unfortunately that doesn't bode well for DA2's new aesthetic; my hype died down, but we don't have the game in our hands just yet.

Everyone keeps bringing up the staff/sword thing, could it not just be a specialized Arcane Warrior weapon? It being a staff for mage casting as well as a sword for Arcane Warrior spec, this is my thought.

I wonder if the king in the trailer is a stand-in for who you put on the throne in DOA. Hmmmmmn...

It was said on the Graywarden.com website that this crowned noble was likely the viscount of Krikwall

Luckily, I grew out of the habit of basing my opinion on cinematic teasers. Do you remember the Sacred Ashes trailer? When the Warden delivers the fatal blow, his eyes glow and there is a trail of silvery mystical smoke emanating from them. Now, did we have anything like that in the game? No. So those red glowing eyes mean very little to me.

I'm still waiting for a real gameplay footage.

The consolized gameplay, the stretching of the lore in regards to the Qunari and the apparent direction of this title, for someone who has purchased every single Bioware game (yes i am so old that i remember playing Pong), i am disappointed.  I guess it is only SW:TOR on my radar.  A shame i really liked Dragon Age.

The red glowing eyes obviously mean Hawke is a cyborg, sent from the future by Skynet to assassinate John Conner.

Interesting cinematic, I hope the actual game graphics come at least close to the quality of the characters shown in it (fairly standard in many 3d games)... the weapon used by Hawke look interesting as was his fighting animations. Not a bad tease BW

Not possible, since they are showing the demo to fans too... I think that they will show us some gameplay footage when they have finished with press previews and so on. Btw, I would like to read some review from folks who have played the demo.

Trailer was pretty coolies. I know it's not very clear, but I am curious as to whether Hawke is carving a rune like symbol into his arm and whether it is blood magic related (allowing him to pull the Qunari apart, wishbone style). I'm excited, and can't wait to see what they have in store for us. :)

It was a good, fun CGI trailer to watch, something all major games do. But it doesnt mean anything in gameplay terms so people who now like or dislike the game more i dont understand :)

Now from what im reading in previews etc i do like the sound of the game, especially the art direction. But people really need to wait for gameplay videos and more in depth info and previews.

My only concern, as i've said before is the, what seem to me, a short development time. Maybe its EA pushing it out.... i dont know, but i just hope it doesnt reflect in the game.

I hope we can turn Hawke into a Grey Warden.

Though, he wouldn't be as great as mine though. :P

I think Hawke may be a warrior in the trailer with some special equipment and quest gained powers.

I think maybe that hands tearing apart power came from the scar in his arm, maybe a mage or dragon or Flemeth gave him that power for completing a quest. Possibly connected to that pirate chick hence the flash back. Hoping that's Isabella always thought she was cool. I think the burning hand power that that burned the Qunari's head came from the gauntlet and the erupting flames thing came from the sword. BTW anyone else see hat orb on the end of the sword think of Hawk the Slayer, that old fantasy movie with Jack Palance as the bad guy and that guy who wielded a sword with a green orb on the end as Hawk the hero.

I don't want Hawke to be a Grey Warden. That was the protagonist's identity in the first game and BioWare is a better company than to just copy pasta the same shtick over. Besides, we never really got any neato, tangible benefits from being a Warden unless you bought the Warden's Keep DLC. Otherwise, it was just a title.

That was one of the most disappointing trailers I have ever seen. You seriously couldn't have shown the guy being ripped in half? You cut away and just have the sound? Seriously lame.

Also, I'm sick of seeing that guy's face. This is a game where we're supposed to make our own character to play as but we're constantly blasted with that guy's face. How about making him wear a helmet?

Because that's not seriously unnecessary. Right up there with Marilyn Manson THIS IS THE NEW ****.

The way Malcolm always wore a helmet? It's a marketing technique, and a very valid one.

The problem was that the rest of the trailer was boring as hell. It's not that I'm some sicko that wants to see blood and gore... it's just that it might have actually made the trailer half way worth watching. I wont even watch the Saw movies because of the all the gore (I watched the first couple.. nuff for me).

I seriously do hope that they start putting a helmet on him though.

I guess a big part of my problem are how the original trailers for DAO were so amazing and epic... this new trailer is just garbage in comparison. Perhaps it's unfair to make the comparison of the two but there you have it.

I was beyond psyched for DAO... now, I'm just sort of "meh". As one of the Bioware fanboys, I should have acid pumping through my veins and a fake sword made out of aluminum foil ready to swing in honor of the game. I just don't.
