the trailer looks amazing (and I like it that Kate Mulgew is back) but I do kinda wish we could get a tad more information, but on a side note the way that magic is being done now looks great! (I just hope we can do that arm thing, and it not just some pretty trailer footage)

This is pretty much exactly what I expected out of a first trailer to be honest. And I'm taking the look of it with a grain of salt considering the relationship the SA trailer had to the final game. But the trailer was badass and that Qunari was love. And Hawke...yum.

Har har. I'm not on the whole "Bioware's forcing choices/choosing for us!" bandwagon. I try a game, and if I like it, I keep playing. No force involved.

Sacred Ashes remains by far my favorite trailer of all time (movies included). The Calling was very powerful too, but this one can be easily compared to The Calling.



Complaints about too little game info are a bit strange. Still nearly a year to go. It will take time and its better this way. I don't want to see early alpha footage that is never going to be released anyhow.

I have to admit, I really had to my doubts because everything I had heard made me think this was just a Fable knock off, but I should know better than to doubt you. This trailer pumped me up as much as the Origins trailers did - I'm really excited. Is it wrong that I just want to watch the trailer repeatedly and not actually get to work today??

It's called a Polearm to answer the general question. If you want the specific name (like there are longswords and greatswords) then it's a Halberd. A sword strapped to a spear. And let the HalBEARD jokes commence!

If you look closely, those aren't hands from nowhere. They are actually Hawke's hands.

You'll notice that he thrusts his arms forward, his hands being engulfed by the firey portal, and then appear above the Qunari from another fiery portal.

Just saying.

That's a good thing, too. Some of us want to see the flavour of DA2 without being spoiled on the story. I am aware of the risks of following a game on a forum where there will invariably be spoilers, but knowing too many plot details ahead of time absolutey can wreck a game.

ME1 sucked for me plot-wise, because once you knew the repears are real (and Bioware was super up-front about it) the whole game was a let-down because you can't do anything about it.

It looked amazing and it was very appropriate. People yelling they still don't know what the game is about need to think a little harder - it matches what we know of the game so far. Listen to the narration!

You got it! The trailer was actually the whole game. That was pretty sweet. Wonder when they'll announce DA 3.

Hm, I thought the trailer was... meh.
I'd rather have seen something of the actual gameplay instead of some CGI stuff  that has nothing to do with the game.
Tough I have to say Flemeth's narration was neat.
But well, it's the first trailer, so who cares?
Eventually they'll show some real game play sooner or later.

Most of the stuff about other games were complaints that it wasnt DA haha
And I doubt the forum would have continued to be just posts about other games once the actual show was over
