It seems we've a horde of Morrigans defending against an army of Templars in a big battle Something that looks like a Childer from Awakening. The main characters house gets burned down. He has a romance with a pirate. He then travels to potentially Weisshaupt Fortress. Fights some kind of Iron Robot or Golem Possible a female Qunari as a companion. There's assorted Undeadbeasties. He has a dream about closing? the Deep Roads. Oh, and there's a dragon. Big surprise there.

Character background was awesome in NWN? Maybe in some fan-made mods it was. As for the official games, it wasn't really there at all (which isn't good or bad, my point is that it wasn't like DA:O).
NWN had tons of races and classes because it was based off of 3E D&D. If I recall correctly, people complained about how DA:O (not a D&D game) didn't give them as much variety.

And that meant something, it meant that they still want to please their old fans. They still want to carry on the BG legacy through a other game. They still want to make their games. Their must have been over 15 trailers for Dragon age: Origins, mixed with CGI and gameplay, what does one teaser got to do with this? Your luck that you didn't just get Hawke jumping in the air onto a horde of Darkspawn and then fades to black. You are lucky that Bioware devotes their time for people like you who moan about every change they make. Now I'm just trolling I think, but I can't be bothered to stop. An RPG is not about the classes, Races and all that ****. An RPG is about Character Development and Choices and consequences. NWN was based on the forgotten realms world, thus they had to use that lore. And they had to make every race playable. This is now THEIR world. And if they choose that Hawke is the main hero and that he is human I AM FINE WITH THAT! Aslong as I get to carve his path through history and get to make the choice I WANT. That is an RPG. A freedom of speech. If someone says Hi, I want 5 options on what to reply. I don't care if I am an elf or dwarf. Plus it makes NO SENSE in the Dragon age lore, that a human state should be governed by an Elf or Dwarf, it clashes with the lore ENTIRLEY but in NWN you CAN do that because it doesn't clash with the lore.
Just imagine a Drow becoming a paladin? I would be wtf??? all the way through the game. Imagine an Elf becoming champion in a human state pfftt.... like that's going to happen in the DA world. As a Warden it's different, since they recruit anyone. But your not a Warden here...

I couldn't agree more with you. Everyone here seems to be hysterical thinking that Bioware is going to bring us a "disappointing game" only for the little information that we have about it. I have a lot of faith in Bioware, I think this game's gonna be like every game that Bioware does...an excellent game. DA:O and DA2 will be different, so, accept it once and stop complaining until you get the game.
The people of Bioware will not undo the game to do another one just to please those who complain and cry because the game will be different.

I''ve no doubt about the game being awesome but DA:O had few races i thought onyl thing bad about the DA:O or a certain group didn't like was about the shortage of races and classes so i thought they would add more reaces and classes. And fully voiced protagonist can BE handled with more races.
Obvious from the narrator that Flemeth will be in it - which is excellent news.
Fighting choreography was incredibly lame. Whilst that has no bearing on the game's combat, what does look like a game feature - the two big arms coming out of the ether - was just silly and felt like he was inputting a cheat code, except into his own arm. And I really hope he doesn't do that ridiculous walk in game.
I wonder whether there will be reactive talents/spells in DA2? During the fight Hawke is disarmed and gripped at the throat by the Qunari, Hawke burns the Qunari's face which allows him to break free and also stagger his opponent. A talent or spell like that would've been handy during DA:O when you could be Overwhelmed by a wolf/spider etc. Obviously it would have a chance to fail, but at least it presents another option in combat.

They wouldn't need to :-) Male and Female Hawke could voice all races with no problem. I'm sure a profesional VA can do more than one voice

Well...actually it doesn't--not entirely--when you consider that an elf or dwarf (or mage!) in DA:O can wind up becoming Arl of Amaranthine, Arl of Denerim, or even Teryn of Gwaren.
Of course there are complex reasons for that (for example, your saving the nation), but my point is you can't say it's impossible out of hand. There are probably other reasons for Hawke being human-only in DA2 besides the political power issue.
