So Canon Hawke is an Arcane Warrior and a Blood Mage and the guy he fought was a Templar... interesting BW. Nice to see a Mage with a real weapon.
It's not "canon Hawke," and everything else you stated is either speculation or most likely just plain wrong. Qunari don't have Templars, for instance.
I wouldn't call it Blood Magic, or being an Arcane Warrior. I think it's a bit to simple for that, or just PLAIN Obviouse. Ofcourse it some sort of Magic/Warrior type. Or it's just powers Hawke has inherited in someway. Maybe he's an apostate himself.
Or they could have just been trying to make an exciting trailer. There was lots of stuff from Sacred Ashes that you couldn't do in game, such as making your eyes burn/glow, kicking darkspawn off cliffs, firing arrows while running, taking cover behind and/or leaping onto objects, performing astounding feats of gymnastic skill, etc. Plus Sacred Ashes had 4 people to show a bunch of different things, while Destiny only has Hawke to carry the load himself. So naturally they have to show him doing a wide range of things.
I've already heard the "hands pulling someone apart" was a mage finishing move, so he doesn't need to be some kind of freaky hybrid to do that.
And in any case, there's no "canon Hawke," so what class/specialization the Hawke in the trailer is is irrelevant. It doesn't mean anything. It certainly doesn't mean we'll necessarily get to do any of the things Hawke does in the trailer. Their first priority is (and should be) to make a trailer that looks cool, whatever the reality ends up being.
