*shrug*
that Hawke fights like a (blood magic) spellsword, which is ... confusing.
the only scene flashing by that really has me intrigued, though, is the one with an army in formation. are those (ancient) elves?!
And a big YAY! for Flemeth.
Regarding the new hard info on the updated DA2 page: I'm neutral on striders and love the new tidbits about Kirkwall.

Though I am curious, the red streak on Hawke's face is just blood and not a new tattoo design? I would love if there was a broader spectrum of tattoos and colors in DA2.
And that gauntlet has be curious as well.
Awesome trailer.

I'm worried that Hawke will suffer Sacred Ashes syndrome, where a dozen of abilities will be shown that aren't even close to anything in lore and only added for coolness.
In any case, we'll always have the cinematics, and finishing blows...

Wha ???
I mean don't get me wrong the trailer was pretty cool but better than Sacred Ashes ?
You're have a joke at our expense.
Thjere are chances that this time the trailer sticks more to what we'll probably
see ingame - if so, then yes, in that way the Da RtP trailer would be better.
If actual gameplay looked anywhere close to that trailer it would probably blow most video cards out of the water and no console on Earth would be able to handle it. These CGI marketing events are merely to get everyone pumped and estatic for the game even though we know actual game play almost never mirrors what we see in the footage. And love it or hate it... Sacred Ashes was very succesful in getting people pumped for DAO.

The trailer strikes some perculiar similairities with the NWN intro cinematic.
Horned oponent who wields an axe, Hero wielding a (big) sword, the desperate dirty move to win..
Not that it's bad =p I was just like, wait a minute, that remeinds me of the NWN cinematic..
lol if Bioware's gonna steal, they might as well steal from the best ^__~

]I tried googling and tried wikipedia but nothing came out that remotely resembles the weapon. To be fair, neither does a halbeard (har har). Pikes and Spears are used for stabbing, while Halberds are used for slashing. Even if it was a half-pike then Hawke is obviously using wrong:unsure:
That is quite true. The moment I saw him jumping to slash that thing, I was like, "That's not how you use a polearm, man." Halberds typically have axe-heads, don't they? But, hey, looked cool, so who cares!

There are some chinese glaive like weapons which resembles it, seen it in movies a few times, but don't know what it's called.
P.s.: kudos for the flashback pics!

Kinda reminded me of a Naginata, though the blade is a lot longer and western.

So this is where JE2 went.
Yeah, there is another shot with what looks to be the Harvester from the Golems of Amgarrak DLC too
But please BioWare, lets not have anymore robots or magical suits of armor, please?
