Oh, look at that. Templars are allowed to get married?
Ok so Carver is the redshirt then, not Bethany.

How so? You were a newb Grey Warden after the Origin story, unless you played a different game than I did.

At the end of my time with the game, our group of six had dwindled to
four
So, who do you think died? My money's on templar's wife and Hawke's brother)
This way the templar can fall for Bethany, lovely apostate mage that she is.

"Instead of controlling a n00b Grey Warden focused on distinguishing the
Blight (basically like Armageddon, but with more Darkspawn and
Archdemons)"
Comical, condescending remark. Well, the way how I see it.

The templar's wife is described as a body builder, while the templar is said to be wounded.
Yes, his wife will be dying while he survives. Clearly that is the most logical outcome!

I just saw it as a light hearted comment meant to refresh memories of the first game before introducing the article's main subject matter. The article itself discusses the game in an enthusiastic, but not uncritical manner (for example, she calls out the lack of race choice in the new game). What bias exactly is this quote supposed to be indicative of?

Most likely, since Bethany is a mage who can prdvide us mage powers...Carver doesn't sound interesting like that. Prolly his mom will die too.
Not ruling out her getting possessed.

These days, it seems that game journalists are either making blatant mistakes, or can't be boethere to write a professional article.
But at least the information is good... this time.

INTERESTING...I call Bethany being one of the dying two.
I'll take you up on that. I'm calling it as being Carver and his mother
I have immediately given myself an image of Carver as a murderous 15 year old, so I would like to change your opinion to Templar dude and the mother.

It's magic. You can have your bodybuilder woman

Especially : In Dragon Age 2 the combat system has been stripped of the clunkiness of the original and injected with more awesome. It's much more fluid and feels faster, though people who liked the slower pace of the first game can still pause the and issue commands. Instead of a two- or three-second delay when you select an active ability, your character will instantly perform an attack or spell. Not only is it an immediate occurrence, but the actions themselves are brutal and incredibly satisfying.
Thats what i wanted to hear. Combat sounds a lot more fun.

Who said I wanted Aveline? I was merely stating that given that Aveline is a warrior (and a clearly strong one at that, if you look at the screenshot), she has a more likely chance of surviving as opposed to her gimp of a husband._purifico_ wrote...

Yes, his wife will be dying while he survives. Clearly that is the most logical outcome! But i'd rather have a wounded templar tormented by the death of his loved ones. Oh, wait... I've seen this before...

I don't think he meant it as the dig it came out as. I'm pretty sure he was referring to your Warden's complete lack of experience, and newness to the Warden's. Something i actually liked about DAO of course, and it was badly worded there, but still.
It also seems completely irrelevant as Hawke will no doubt start out almost as 'n00b' like in DA2. Apostate mage or not.

As you assume the role of Hawke, you're immediately thrust into battle
with glitzy armor, powerful abilities and a bad-ass female mage.
This is misleading. You can clearly see from those screenshots that Hawke has actually had a downgrade armor and weapon-wise. I point this out due to some peoples fears that DA2 is 'doing a ME2' and having less loot (what with Hawke having an outfit and default weapon).

Nah, but you're probably right - the bodybuilder even has a name, while a templar is just that - a wounded templar who jumps at the mention of apostates.

I’m also pretty sure he meant to say that our Wardens were focused on extinguishing the blight.
The blight was fairly distinguished all on its own.

maybe a mage like specialization for a warrior perhaps?
since magic can manifest at a random age, it's possible for a warrior to have magic that way, although he/she wouldn't have the mage training to properly control those powers.
