I think your mom is almost guaranteed to die. Moms never fair well in fantasy stories. I'm guessing either Avaline or Wesely won't make it either. If after escaping Lothering your next destination is Kirkwall someone with Templar connections would be the most valuable companion. Having Wesely or his wife along would make sense.

I think the final answer of who lives and who dies might surprise you. Might surprise everyone, in fact. Image IPB

Every day, I come in to work and BAM. Surprised.

They hide in your office with the lights closed off and yell "SURPRISE!"?

Curious. If it is Hawke that dies with Flemeth bringing him back, then that asks all sorts of questions about what she might have done in bringing the Warden back. Would also tie into something I speculated about Flemeth using him in a similar way to Morrigan. But then you might just be having fun with us Mr Gaider. :P

On the other hand I can see Bethany not making it, or being brought back by Flemeth and used by her, as well.

Well, unless both Hawke and Bethany are the two that die, it really shouldn't surprise anyone. Seeing as how Varric is the narrator of the story and exaggerates both Hawke and Bethany at first, it stands to reason that he has an affinity towards those two. Also knowing that Varric is from Kirkwall, it also stands that he meets those two there after they survive the trek there.

Also seeing as you now have the entire Hawke family minus the dad, my guess is that your custom Hawke gets the "You look so much like you father" bit while everyone else looks like default Hawke.

If Hawke him/herself were to die, how would they work in a resurrection plot?  Maybe he/she's some sort of new prophet along the lines of Andraste and that's why he/she is so important to Thedas/the Chantry surviving/everything else and the Maker does the resurrecting?  Crazy speculation, I know.

I notice that no one has asked if you can romance Carver, yet.  I'm disappointed in you people.

Welp first off

Still looks like Dark Sun to me (even more so now a Dark sun comic coming out that looks EXACTLY liuke what we offered in DA2, coincidence? I think not)

As for the rest, maybe Im just to jaded from IGN giving ME2 a 9.5/10 and intentionally ignoring the problems that many players wanted to know about but this peoice of hacker sounds like it was written by bioware, for IGN (with new ad money) to quell the naysayers.

I ask you, what is the chance, be serious here, that someone from the "worried crowd" was mistaken (in their own eyes) on every single aspect and suddenly loves everything and anything about DA2 after a (what sounds like) short 60 minute trial?

Does that sound reasonable to you (if you answered yes your dumber then you normally sound in your fanboi ravings).

Im sorry but IGN Image IPB has no credibility,
the graphics still look terrible to me,
icons will not fix the ME2 dialog wheel short comings,
how about some info on the romances? Are they still granny panties?
Why is Hawke so strong a warrior and leaving Feralden to die in a Blight? Sounds cowardly to me.
ect ect ect

To many questions, not enough hard details.

Sorry but this powder puff, bought and paid for reviw doesnt calm my worries or fears.

I am going to bluntly honest with the good folk at BioWare. You know what would surprise me most? Wesley and Aveline dying and your entire family surviving.

THAT would blow my mind. I cannot imagine a single writer who would not shamelessly murder off close relatives to generate cheap sympathy.

I think the player gets to choose who lives and dies. A difficult choice early on, perhaps?

Just a hunch...

Well I guess that's true.

There is also the possibility that you aren't related by blood...
Hmmmm. Maybe I was too hasty...

Hawkes dad is the maker, perhaps. You are a virgin birth to dear old mum. You meet him towards the end. He has a massive flowing beard, is 9 feet tall, and wields a massive spear that shoots lightning.

Yeah, you're just saying that so we will go "ok so she doesn't die", then she dies and we get surprised. Unless you were expecting we would conclude that, and she really isn't going to die.

Edit: for some reason the forum doesn't want me to post smileys...

Hawke and her/his sister die.

YES, a 3 hour long FADE LEVEL.
