Own your part of it. Players hunger for definitions so they can plan goals. I despise that characters need to be labelled as "romanceable" at all. Hate it. It colours expectation from the outset, like the difference between hunting and target practise. I didn’t write Aveline as a love interest, but more importantly, I didn’t write her not as a love interest. Scratch your head about that one, but I think it’s bearing fruit in the reactions. So do the impossible, forget you heard this. Because it’s not my job to give you what you want. My job is to hurt characters in interesting ways, and that includes the player character.
Come on, let me hurt you.

Honestly I probably still won't. Because thats STILL not really your choice to make. I'm not gonna let out of game knowledge influence the personality of my Hawke...I'll still let Aveline know I long for her whenever possible...his statement about the end... IT STILL GIVES ME HOPE!makenzieshepard wrote...
So now that we know Aveline will not be a LI who here is sure they'll be gutting Wesley personally?

Question: Have you ever worked for a Mr. Joss Whedon? 'Cause he seems to have the same philosophy when it comes to writing characters.

Some of the most memorable characters of all time are the ones that really make your heart ache. You know, the ones that when you think about it it just kills you. So here's to looking forward to an excellent experience with Aveline.

I'm now stuck with the image of Minsc on a rack in a BDSM dungeon being "tortured" by you with a paddle.
This likely says far more about me than it does you.

I always got the impression the Collector General was being distracted from keyboard lessons in that picture.

Ok slightly more on topic it might be interesting to be allowed to try and romance a character, genuinely so and not just banter type flirting. Ultimately not being able to succeed because the companion/NPC doesn't care for you that way. But could you imagine the outrage then?!

Come on now guys...think with logic...if we do that...we might never get the chance to romance her later on in Hawke's life. If you do it...don't do it for vengful reasons. We all need to calm down and retern to the rational thinking we prided ourselves on as The Aveline Appriciation Society. Lukas may love our tears...but lets not give them anymore.PrinceOfFallout13 wrote...

a.k.a Samara...
I'll still stick with Aveline as my tank, just that instead of Garret, I'll be playing as Marian (Why look at a dude all day when you can't even romance Aveline?)

Ooooh, so we'll see a character come down with a severe case of depression, become an addict and commit suicide?

As a published author... I 100% approve this message! This is one of the keys to building tension, empathy, and characters and I'm happy to see it implimented in role-playing games like Bioware's. Please... hurt us. And keep doing it until the very end.

Hey man...relax...lets resume civility. Wesley must have done SOMETHING right....I'm gonna give him props for that. Theres no reason to hate the man because of something Mr. Lukas did. As for Samara version 2...I can live with that...Samara gave me severe blue balls...but it's better then nothing as far as I'm concerned. Maintaining happy and civil attitudes is what seperates the real fans from those who...well aren't. I will continue to romance her whenever possible...I will win her over as much as possible. Then come DA3...I'll be rewarded with Aveline's loving embrace! -points to his smexy fan-fic.-otaku4ever wrote...

*claps like mad* I want to read that fic!
But Wesley... He cannot be fogiven (at least not until I find out that SER Wesley was the one that helped Aveline's family after her father got exiled so she fell in love with his
