I hated aveline at first,mostly because i didn't want her and izzy to be my only 2 romance options.

I greatly enjoyed the friendship arcs available in Origins. When I rolled a Male Warden, I was amazed to discover how much of Alistair's conversations were still available. Perhaps this wouldn't have been so surprising if I had not just come out of my third play through of ME2 in a row
Once the announcement came that Aveline would not be romancable, she really piqued my interest. I don't have to worry about avoiding her romance, or missing out on some conversation content that would only be available during a romance arc.
