Believe me, I'm generally with you on the elven romance cliche that permeates fantasy story-telling. As for Isabella. *shrugs* That's all I can say on the matter.

While I would have preferred Aveline I think Bioware wanted to go back to the 2 romance dynamic that existed in DAO, ME 1, and Jade Empire. Basically where you like both and it leads to some kind of dramatic argument and your forced to choose. Also Bioware has stated they don't have limitless resources and must make choices.



While I thought Aveline had lots of romance potential, I will just try to be happy she is still in the game.

Yea man but...I'm tierd of that, cuz ME2 basicly did it too. Pretty much every game they've made does that.... and I'm tierd of all the cliches...would it truly be so horrible to do a romance thats outside the norm???

Underneath? I don't see why there should be a need to see that she's "different." Sex between consenting adults is not a moral issue. That being said, I was hoping for an Aveline romance myself. And yes, I woulda ditched the elf for it too. But hey, Merrill could surprise me. Who knows?

I don't find them aesthetically appealing.  And personality wise she reminds me - vaguely at this point, obviously - of Tali.  And I hate Tali, as a romance option, anyway.

Well you know what...those people b**** and moan when lose out on one tiny thing that they like. If they were in our shoes they would have stoped buying these games a long damn time ago because they would never get what they wanted. But no seems to care about that small little group in the corner of the forums who...despite continues disapointment in regards to things like this...always buy the games and remain loyal. I mean for god sake you have people storming off and canceling pre-orders over the fact the PC actually speaks. You have people doing it because the game isn't like 5 thousand hours long etc. You have people who give up on Bioware over very petty things and they still get mostly what they want. Yet that tiny little group in the corner who buys their games no matter what Bioware does gets the shaft continuesly.

Yea maybe I sound a little petty myself right now...maybe I'm acting like a fool and a hypocrit or whatever....but you know what? I've never seriously complained about ANYTHING Bioware has ever done...ever...I've swallowed any rage I had and delt with it rather then look like a an idiot who thinks he's entilted to everything under the sun. My friends are convinced I'm one of those Bioware drones that bow at their feet and lick their boots clean due to how I always cast praise on them. I'm not asking for a whole lot man...I'm asking that...just for one freakin game...gimme a romance that isn't cliche all to hell...and imo Aveline isn't a cliche in the slightest.

i hate them due soley to the massive amount of squeeing and fawing the fantasy setting gives them...theres no reason for it.

Exactly...not to mention most fantasy settings seem to cast elves in the light of "most physiaclly attractive creatures to ever exist in the history of time"... I mean yet another elven romance was boreing but understandable...but TWO!?! I mean good grief I am so tierd of the human/elf thing it makes me wana freakin cry...
