Yeah, they definitely give us a better insight of the character. It was an excellent move on Bio's part.
I will point out, though, that for obvious reasons short stories can't have VA reveals.

In other words, making that inner struggle a little more complicated. I love the idea  
And it's not like we hate the guy. We mostly dismissed him because BioWare ( or, the Maker, in Dragon Age slang ) decided to take him away.

'Sall in the hands of the evil one (and by extention his unspoken overlords). I imagine he'll string you along for a little while longer, which may be just as well. I'm going to make some of you feel bad about your spirited dismissals of a certain templar.

Did we dismiss Westley? I only recall the discussion as to whether it was better to let Aveline kill him herself or for a relative stranger to do it for her.

That said, it's good to know there is one. I was actually going to start a thread about it.

Personally, I think the 'easy' women of the world ought to breathe a sigh of relief that their sexual history is a natural ********** repellent.

Thats a fair opinion...like I said later on however, those statements were made in illogical rage and do not acurately represent my actual opinions regarding such women. I have already deeply expressed regret and apologized for my harsh and inexcusable behavior, beyond that I can do nothing more.

She tanks, I pew pew. I was thinking along the lines of a possible Defender and Warmonger combination, but nothing is set in stone until I do a few test runs. She will be part of my Nightmare team nonetheless

I'll go all the way on her tree (which I am 99,100% sure is a SnS tree)
Then go with something like Champion or Templar. Both are lore metagaming for me but fit with Aveline's personality and w/e.
Disclaimer: This is but my own speculation.

And her favorite ale is Mead...because it's made with honey...and honey just reinforces her already sweet personality (ignore my man squees I really have no idea)

My twin was not evil. Or, technically, "lost."

1) Traveling with Hawke, clearly. Copper reliefs.
2) Green.
3) Mead is a trickster and too sweet. Light red wine, a recent inclination.
4) The "what food is she" answer serves well enough.
5) We'll see.
