I am thinking more of a Jaheira vibe from her.
Yes that what the impression I was getting after reading the brief bio and pics but was struggling to put a name to it, so long since I played BG. Thanks for helping

I'm really surprised that it's not just common sense that Aveline eventually dons appropriate armor later on after the escape. Really? People actually believe/believed that she would wear some sort of commoner's outfit/leather apron/whatever for ALL ten years????
uh,,,,,would you have Believed (before ME2 came out) that miranda would NOT wear a sealed hardsuit/light armor in vombat and in vacuum environments? possibly not and yet she does

ME2 is in the sci-fi genre. so any oddball clothing decisions are largely irrelevant if the individual in question is a biotic who is capable of making force-fields, barriers, etc. - in theory at least. On a practical level, I find the Miranda catsuit outfit silly, but that's neither here, nor there.
SInce DA:2 is dark fantasy and semi-grounded in reality as far as non-magical combat goes, I'm pretty sure that it should be common sense that an actual warrior isn't going to wear his/her refugee outfit for the rest of his/her natural life (especially not if they're engaging in combat).

If it was considered appropriate for the "sweeping uber fight like a Spartan" cinematics, yes. That seems to be what the main focus is on, at any rate. Who cares the armor value would be the same as wet tissue paper? It looks good in the cinematics. Common sense has nothing to do with this issue; http://social.biowar.../index/5113136 so far 18 pages and counting. It appears that "the game" changes the armor when it is deemed appropriate. "The player" can only add rings, belts, and runes. The look of the outfit stays the same. So the idea of Aveline wearing the same apron with added runes for the whole ten years isn't that far of a reach.

Thanks for the completely irrelevant response. I'm perfectly aware of the unique one-piece outfit looks for NPCs and the discussions that have gone on about it, having actually participated in threads about that issue and the inventory, etc. etc. If you want to rant about the one-piece outfit thing, I'm sure that the other thread is a more appropriate place to do so.
I think it is common sense that the devs have actually been smart enough to include outfit changes that are logical in this case - like Aveline wearing armor. *rolleyes* And I think it is a stretch to believe that Aveline would wear that apron for ten years. I suspect the fact that you think it isn't a stretch has more to do with your obvious displeasure over the direction the game is taking.

I love her outfit but I get the feeling some other fans may not agree. Something about it not looking like actual armor.

Atreya you know as well as I do that the ME2 "a biotic field did it" explanation is utter BS
by that logic my biotic shepard should be able to do the same and/or be able to survive getting spaced with no sealed suit....also Biotic fields do not affect temperature so how exactly does Jack survive with only a nipple belt on while in vacuum?

Does anyone else get the feeling she may have been a blacksmith before becoming a fighter? I think I remember them saying they intentionally gave her really beefy arms, and the apron she's wearing reminds me of a blacksmiths apron.

yet she has the money for a new sword and a templar shield?
I swear if you say "she might have looted those" there's gonna be a problem because at that I'll have to answer "and she could not loot a freaking armor?"
