Off topic I know but...I just saw Toy Story 3 today and....was I the only one who cried like a baby at the end of the movie?

After watching the demo gameplay vid I can honestly say that Aveline is really growing on me. She used to be my most disliked character, but just from that short amount of footage I can tell she's gonna be a badass. Its amazing how she fights better than her templar husband. Also this may sound dumb but does anyone else think she could be a retired/exiled grey warden? I know after a certain period of time they have to go to Orzammar when the taint becomes to strong within them, but she disposed of all of those darkspawn herself, and you can only find people with that much skill in the wardens. Just speculation but it would be interesting.

No.  No you aren't.

Back on topic:  Did anyone catch a good look at Aveline's unique talent web.  I thought I saw something to the effect of 'Serve and Protect' but I am probably wrong on this.

I was so indifferent to Aveline before but that minute or so that I saw in the live demo....Wow, was I wrong! She seems like a really awesome character with lots of depth, I almost feel bad she's not romanceable, as my male Hawke would've totally loved her but I think there's some worth in her not being another romance and perhaps we can pursue a meaningful relationship with her even when there are differences of opinion. Yeah she's just awesome!

@panamakira
I know this is off-topic, but I am deeply amused by your signature.
Both parts of it.

EDIT: It took like five minutes to get through the whole thing. XD

Shes deff not a Warden...not every skilled person in Thedas serves in the Wardens lol. She was trained to be a Chevalier...who are the greatest fighting force of any nation.

@Bellbell

 The Lady Hawke banner was so amazing when I saw it from someone on the Fenris thread, I had to get it. (yes it takes like 5 min to read lol) and the second part is me trying to stay obnoxiously positive about two possibly tragic romances....:pinched:

Back on topic:  Did anyone catch a good look at Aveline's unique talent web.  I thought I saw something to the effect of 'Serve and Protect' but I am probably wrong on this.

Serve and Protect is her "Friendship" Ability:

Aveline's dedication to Hawke verges on overbearing.

Damage Transfer: 10% From Hawke to Aveline
Damage Resistence: 5%

Watchful Eye is her "Rivalry" Ability:

Recent Events have put Aveline on her guard

Damage Resistence: 10%

Guardian Abilites include "Immovable"

While this mode is active, Aveline sacrifices Movement and Attack Speed for resilience to incoming blows. Every hit she suffers increases her hardiness even further, but also slows her more and more.

Danage Resistence: +2% per hit
Attack Speed and Movement Speed: -5% per hit
Duration: 5s per hit

An upgrade to that, called "Unstoppable" reduces Attack Speed and Movement to -3% per hit.

A passive called "Indomitable"

Through sheer force of will, Aveline refuses to be knocked off her feet or stunned. Attacks that would normally send her flying, or distract her with lengthy elemental effects like lengthy immolation, are instead converted to smaller reactions. The Resilience talent in the Defender school allows her to ignore those smaller reactions as well.

Knockdown Resistence: +100%
Stun Resistence: +100%

A Sustain "Bodyguard"

While this mode is active, Aveline shields a targeted party member, taking damage on his or her behalf.Damage Transfer: 25% from Target to Aveline

Retaliation

For a short time, all attacks against Aveline are met with an instant counterattack.

An upgrade, Retribution, increase the dutration and damage.

And the description of the tree itself:

Aveline has outlived too many of those she's loved. Years of hard training and loss have shaped her into an immovable force and an invaluable ally.

Wow. I just may swoon at those abilities. I thought perhaps DA2 would be the time for me to take up sword and board, but I think I'll let Aveline cover it.

What I shame...I like being sword and shield...but I don't think it would be very prevelent to do so with her carring a godly array of abilitys like those!

No.

She becomes one later, however.

Carver likely does as well. But she is seen rocking the Commander armor, while Carver is seen rocking a variant of the Sacred Ashes [DA:O trailer] armor.

So yes, Aveline is pretty awesome.

You do realize that symbol on the armor isn't the Warden crest right?
It's the symbol of the Kirkwall city guard...she joins the and become second-in-command of the city guards...she does not become a Grey Warden...trust me on this...I am in love with the woman IRL...I know everything....

i mean have you not looked at Page 1? Lady Hawke is seen wearing the exact same symbol on her armor. The devs have already said Hawke does not join some secret organazasion or anything....thus...the theory of it being a Warden crest is null and void...it's a modified crest to symbolize the Kirkwall guards...

What kyle said. The only confirmed warden that appears in DAII is Anders (And that's only if you made him a GW)
And around page 90 something we discussed this with pics (I suggest you go back and see the comparison).

edit: It was confirmed that MY Warden will appear because he's more awesome than any other GW so he gets to be canon.B) (He also gets to romance Aveline )

You best remove that edit right this instant sir...I won't hear about any tomfoolery about The Warden being in DA2.

However I wonder how Anders will be handled if you gave him to all the Templars and he never met Justice??......

'twas but a joke...
And there can be many spirits of justice as there are many desire, rage, etc demons so... There you go :D

On topic: I seriously need confirmation of Aveline being able to do a Vallen Punch messy kill (Don't mind that being a DLC)
