So have you guys seen the new demo vid (follow-up to the previous ones) where femHawke has Aveline deal with Wesley? Tugs at the heartstrings, it does:

Edit: Starts at around 1:54.
Btw, do you guys think that awesome music playing in the background is Aveline's theme? You hear a few strings from it when she first shows up as well.

That does tug at the heartstrings a bit.  The music certainly didn't help at all.

Get her to do it? Cause that did look mean to me. I was planning to let her do it because I figured she'd  want to be the one to do it but the way it comes across its better if Hawke does it.

see thats the think though...waht if...by allowing Hawke to do it...she flips out later on and calls you a murder and blames you for his death etc? conversley if you let her do it she again might blame you for allowing the injured party to make that type of judgement.

This is obviously going to be our toughest decision to make, at least for us Aveline fans.

^ I'm not sure but it seems to me that it'd be best to let Aveline do it...I mean if I were dying, I'd prefer my life were taken by my beloved than by some stranger. I understand that it'd be harder for her, she'd feel very guilty. Besides, if someone is dying in pain, it's an act of mercy and compassion to end it for them...so in a way it'd be Aveline's last act of love towards him.

Flemeth is now spooky. Her dialogue is also brilliant.

I don't see Aveline as the flip out type unless you're threatening someone she cares for. She comes off as emotionally mature.

It's possible but I seriously doubt this is going to happen.

I agree, although more specifically, I believe that the most moral option would be to let Aveline decide who should be the one to do it.

Doing it yourself is always the paragon choice. Making someone kill their loved one, whether stabbing, pushing the button or pulling the plug is pretty vile.



No wonder making her do it makes rivalry jump.

You know, it hit me that if there will be scenes of similar quality in DA2, then this will likely be my most emotionally engaging game yet. Regardless of whether Aveline or Hawke does it, it really felt like a very intimate, personal moment (shared either between spouses or two fellow humans). Wesley's whispered "thank you" to Hawke, and the looks shared between Wesley and Aveline... color me impressed.

This. Regardless of who killed Wesley, I think she'd just say that someone had to do it, and dwelling on it is pointless because it's not going to change anything.

The outcome being what it is, Hawke's real decision is whether or not Aveline seems like the kind of person who wants decisions made for her. It certainly sounds like it will help define your character and illustrate hers.

I think it's safe to say that if you really like a certain character, you should really ask for their oppinion before making the final decision.
