I knew it! she's got a crush on Hawke! she's spying on him! or rather, spying on him and Isabella, if you catch my driftPosted Image

edit: this video only strengthens the fact that combat is still amazing and has not been dumbed down at all. Especially since Hawke seems to be attacking at a slightly slower rate than in the demo.

A new video popped up on the forums, and there is a nice fragment of Aveline at the beginning. Here

This is about the only caption I would get that's of interest.

It seems like a certain woman can't keep her eyes away from Hawke. Still not sure if this is a good or bad thing =))

Quotes:

Hawke: "One day you'll be frustrated enough to go for it."
Aveline: "It's like I'm sitting on my hands."

Oh, and also... DRAGONS!! :P

You'd think that being a guard would appeal to Aveline.

Perhaps the guards are too political or corrupt?

Too many people would have gone through with it in my oppinion ;) No matter, I'll settle for whatever Mr. Lukas has in store for us.

Also, as of this moment, I have officially uninstalled the demo from my PC. This is the home stretch people :wizard: Still gonna be on the forums until the 4th.

The stab is always through chest while Wesley is wearing full-plate. That...requires some strength.

Always breaks immersion for me in the demo.

Yeah I actually started giggling in disbelief that this scripted cutscene chose to have them Stab Through Solid Chestplate. The scene is fine up until then, I mean really? That's how you're going to do it? His neck is right there... or you could go for the armpit, that works...?

It's not that difficult to suspend disbelief enough to imagine the blade is actually thrust through a ****** in the armour. Real fullplates have plenty of those (that are basically impossible to hit in combat, but against a willing immobile target it would not be so difficult).

Sure, the animation's placement is a bit iffy, but the fact remain that killing someone wearing fullplate in that manner is quite possible .

Think a bit harder about the "Order" part.

Unfortunately, I will always see it as the writers pandering to the 'no guy wants an amazon' crowd.  Which is disappointing.  Of course, I am now repeating myself.  Why the fourth?

Well, it's going to be the last weekend before the game appears. Might as well enjoy it ;)
Also, spoilers are bound to pop up out of nowhere. Better to be safe.

I can't see not making someone romancable as pandering.

Actually "The Order dictates!" is a pretty awesome battlecry.

"Order will rule!" is a bit meh by comparison. I'm guessing she's the most by-the-book of all the companions.

I see. BioWare should have made her battle-cry a lame forum joke that came out months after she was written and her lines recorded.

Guess those Canadians really dropped the ball his time.

Hey. Don't cop a 'tude with me. I was just explaining. To be fair, if they didn't see a forum joke coming from Wesley's "The Order dictates" lines, then they really did drop the ball.

Indeed, and I'm gonna have to agree with Maria. It's very possible that the Guardsmen are a bit corrupt and/or lazy. She might be trying to make a difference.

How is "The Order Dictates" any more memorable than "You shall not have him" or "Perhaps I am a dragon" or "There are Templars in Kirkwall, Mother?"

Unless you're suggesting that developers anticipate people who passionately follow their work to latch onto almost any phrase. In that case, I expect they do.

I don't really understand why people keep saying that Aveline scene wasn't good enough because she didn't cried. I thought it was perfect. Even without tears I could feel Aveline's pain perfectly, it was very sad :<

It's just as memorable as "You shall not have him," because they were both said twice (though the latter was repeated in variation) and were both goofy. Also because "The Order dictates" makes up about half of everything Wesley says, so it's a large part of our impression of him.

I'm overly negative.  With Lukas' comment on specifically not writing her as not a romance; I can concluded quite a few probable scenarios.  The first that springs to mind; is that all the writers had a discussion involving which characters had a greatest and least impact on the over all plot which decided which characters would have romance sub-plots.  The second which is similar to the first except it involves which characters appeal to a greater number of players overall.  The third, Gaider just decided which one got written in as the romance sub-plots.  I could continue but it'd be rather pointless.

I expect 'Order shall rule' will be heard many, many times if you play with Aveline and does make up a large part of who she is or becomes.

The Order Dictates would be a great battle-cry... for Wesley. I like Order shall rule.

Unless I misheard and she said 'Mordor shall rule,' in which case we're all screwed.

Varric, Cassandra, and Aveline all nailed their facial expressions. I like it.
