Look Luke already said she gets armor, so who cares how or when, just that shes does Yes?

no luke said she doesn't remain in the same clothes for ten years he never said she gets armor

I don't really see why we'd get in a tizzy over speculating what she might wear.

some people around these parts have the craziest obsessions like....you know.....characters wearing appropriate gear giving their role as opposed to wearing chainmail bikinis or equally ridiculous stuff (even given the static appearance)

I don't know much about platemail butI do know a lot about TK armour (stormtrooper gear) and let me tell you.. that stuff is extremely light but it still takes a lot of time to pack and put on because there are simply lots of pieces and buckles to keep track of and do up (though the lazy troopers use velcro now). Even if the platemail were of a similar material, it would still take time to gather it all together and to throw on and if you're in a hurry, your liable to make mistakes during thed process. It wouldn't be practical to put it on at all or even to pack it if you were fleeing for your life.

notice that before fleeing they atop and have a nice chat with flemeth...you know..just saying

only after the chat her husband die... you know just saying

I get that. But you're honestly stretching to complain if the thing you latch on to is that he didn't say a word you wanted him to - right after he said that she would change appearance (which, I believe, was the original complaint in the first place).

Lots of good stuff in that article. Not the last of which is the fact that we can expect party members to die.

Does this mean that there will be lots of party rotation? Temp companions?

They said it best on Desert Bus today: "How do we know Morgan isn't a communist? Because we've never seen him NOT being a communist".

I read that as Morrigan not being a communist. And was going to look for that Morrigan change picture to put up. But carry on. *goes to get her eyes checked*

nope look at the lothering screens..she has a regular longsword (identical to the DAO ones) and a regular shield...now she has a rather uncomfortable looking sword (honestly look at the handle.....looks like it would hurt) and a templar shield

the demo video is dated, they could have changed the sword and shield models

but you can be right too

And her husband was a templar, right? So why is it strange that she "upgraded" her sword and shield but didn't grab his armour too? She didn't have time to get everything. The shield is probably heavy and a bit impractical for carrying around but it sure beats trying to lug around a full suit of plate in her bag. And it's more useful to her in a fight. If she's careful enough, that shield is big enough to provide her enough protection until she can put on some more useful gear later. It's better than not taking the shield at all. The sword.. does look a little impractical but it probably has sentimental value to her and she's obviously a tough woman if she's a blacksmith so she probably doesn't mind lugging it around.

Actually sort of off-topic but I could easily see that as a personal quest for Aveline. Travel with her back to properly bury/recover her husband's body. Perhaps getting his armour or what not from that.

Var, Izzie, Beth, Carv, Ave. Are those the correct nicknames so far?

If there is something games in general lacks it's female muscle. I am glad to see that BioWare dares to go against the stereotypes like this.

Pretty much. It's a nice change of pace, and makes her feel more realistic. I for one am very interested to hear more about the character.

So far, Aveline is the only character I find really interesting, but I have to admit that it's partly because I find Carver and Bethany so darn weird looking and sartorially challenged. I'm sure they'll turn out to have great personalities. ;)

Good to know that she'll have more than one outfit. I'm guessing the current outfit we see is only her 'escape from lothering' outfit and gets a new one later on.

While they are chatting it up with Flemeth, Aveline could be looting armor from her husband, Yes it is plate, but the only awkward part to wear would be the breastplate, so she could have everything else armored & throw the breastplate in her bag, she could also loot any enemies she happens to come across &/or the corpses of Lothering & the Darkspawn.

Plus her sword is impractical & would be useless in combat.

The Dev said she would change outfits but did not elaborate on whether it was armor or not.
