GODDAMNIT I just found out Aveline is not a romance option. ARGH! She's the only woman my Hawke wants to romance. She's all woman, baby. Now I'm on the fence between staying celibate or romancing Merrill, who feels more like a daughter.

Dammit Aveline, why won't you give it a shot!

The quest where you get her and Donnic together was my favorite. One of the best parts was talking to her after giving him the marigolds.

And Hawke sitting in the Hanged Man with poor Donnic while Aveline's hovering around, too scared to sit down and talk with the man, was priceless. Hawke: "So, Aveline is great!"

Aveline is my favorite character in DA2. I love how well-written her story is, how she's a tough broad who just tells you how it is, and I especially liked how her gender wasn't brought up as an issue at all (no "woman trying to prove herself in a man's world," etc). Aveline's just great. I enjoyed her romance more than Hawke's own romance. I was facepalming and giggling at her terrible attempts at courtship and I melted in Act 3 when Donnic called her "love." I was very gratified to see a companion have her own life like this.

I was seriously disappointed that we couldn't see what was happening behind closed doors when Aveline thought she blew it, but he wanted to talk to her in her office. All we heard was giggling. Oh, MAN, to have been a fly on the wall! =D

I finished first playthrough with Aveline as a rival, and even though my snarky mage and her rarely saw eye to eye (and I didn't really use her in my party) I adored her quests, and felt her character was a very strong one . The whole setting her up with Donnec had me in stiches Rivalry resolution when you push her past her limits also felt amazing Got to play friendship path and see what differs then

Aveline was awesome. My only problem with her is that she was kind of critical even though I had her at full Friendship. I didn't fault her for it though, I'm glad that even when she disagrees with you, you can never, ever doubt her loyalty. Also, The Long Road may be one of my favorite quests ever.

My favorite part of the courtship quest was if you take Isabella along she tells Donnic to take the hint and bend her over a rock, then she has a little school girl laugh.

I like how tough she is about Wesley's death but yet she still is incredibly sad. Her character is one of the best written characters of all the Bioware characters. Lukas is one of the best writers Bioware has keep it up.

I adore Aveline. I already played the game once with her as a friend, now I'm wondering if I could go rival and not be completely evil. I want to help her and stuff like that, but I think my "oh sod the law, we'll do it the easiest way while having as much fun as possible" rogue wouldn't share her values. I know that if you offer to kill Wesley you gain rivalry points (by the way, it makes total sense to me and makes me love her character even more; for me you gain rivalry because she's conflicted and thinks that she should have been with her husband to the last moment). Sometimes you might also be insubordinate and, I think, asking for money also makes her more of a rival. What else, though? Which quests have non-lawful Aveline-displeasing solutions?

Ok I must be honest...Aveline is the one char whom I did not want to meet...she just looked like she'd irk me the wrong way...... and boy was I wrong!

I grew to love her right after the 1st year.... her bumbling attempts at romance with Donnic....eventual wife of Donnic... her side quest was hilarious, and I LOVE the Aveline/Isabella banter....

That cut scene when they toss insults at each other, then Hawke just steps in all like 'oy knock it off you two!'

I'm playing as a mage. The fact that I haven't been yanked to the Gallows takes some serious suspension of disbelief, but I do like the little gems here and there that acknowledge mage status. One of my faves is with Aveline in the Qunari compound when she stops Hawke from using magic with, "no, don't! It's too out in the open!"

I don't want to spoil the line for you or anything, but I got the same one with my rogue. I think she's more referencing that they're too exposed there, as they're surrounded by the qunari with crazy-long throwing poles.

But yes, Aveline. Her quest lines with Donnic were absolutely adorable, and I loved the rivalry she has with Isabela. Their dialogue made me seriously laugh at times.

Hello everyone, I am a new fan of Aveline,  and I love Her. <3:wub:

If she had been a Li, I will have chosen her. Thank you to the author, the character is really complex, touching, empathetic and at the same time with thoughts of clear-cut. It surprised me more than once, when I thought I had understood her.

Avaline's a great character, and The Long Road was easily my favorite quest in the game(especially with Isabela).

There's nothing romantic about that kiss. She kisses Hawke in thanks for helping her hook up with Donnic with the right dialogue choices. She always kisses my FemHawke and it's always in gratitude.

I liked lots of things about Aveline personality wise and physically as well. Her personal quest in chapter two was hilariously akward, but it was awesome that she liked someone who wasn't the main PC. But I like the way Aveline looks as well. I like the fact that she has freckles on her arms not just her face, and I liked that fact that she actually looks buff enough to swing a sword. Kudos Bioware!

I am new here. I have a question. If anybody can answer it. I was reading the guide book and it say's during the Favor and Fault quest it say's that if you talk to Guardsman Brennan that she will tell you if Aveline is married or not. Dose anybody know. Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this.

Aveline's romance sidequest was downright hilarous. Half the time I was grinning like an idiot and the other half I felt like bashing my head on the wall in fustration. As Hawke commented: "Painful."
